A list of puns related to "Antenna tuner"
Hey all,
I'm a beginner and I'm looking for a decent power supply and an antenna tuner all on the cheaper side. I'm a beginner and not sure how much I'll invest in the hobby so I wanna start off affordable. Thanks!
I would assume that they handle low bandwidth modes better as they list CW and SSB, but data modes can also transmit very small bandwidth signals. Just curious on whatβs limiting these antenna tuners from working data modes at the same power output levels as CW/SSB? Thanks.
There are two manual antenna tuners that I am looking at, the MFJ-945E and the MFJ-941E. I was wondering how necessary is the 4:1 Balun being built into the tuner to lose out on 50 meters? I was also wondering if these tuners would be able to handle the duty cycle of Digital Modes? Thanks!
I figured that it could be better to radiate a dipole antenna at exactly the 1/2 wavelength and use the antenna tuner to handle the SWR since SWR doesnβt define a good antenna anyways.
We have Samsung Smart TVs in the house an I'd like to connect an outdoor antenna to my router and from there, stream the OTA to smart TVs. I'm looking to do this without an app set up on the smart TV or an external tuner (since the TVs have tuners already built internally in them). My father is elderly and I'd like to have him be able to just turn on the TV and the channels are there (which happens when I hardwire an antenna). But it seems like for me to deliver the antenna feed to each tv, I would either need to hardwire each, or purchase an external tuner that then requires an app. Is there no antenna out there I could connect to a router and then have each tv with a dongle (like an Amazon Fire Stick or Google Chromecast) to receive the OTA broadcasts to each TV?
Selling my mobile rig after drunk driver hit my vehicle. I was going to install it in the new vehicle with a brand new automatic antenna tuner, but ended up getting a different radio instead. This is your chance to get one of the hard to find 857D and the very rare separation kit with it. Looking to sell everything together and taking offers. If I don't get any serious offers, I'll probably put it on eBay to get more bids.

Hello OTA
I have a shed about 150 feet away from the house that I would like to put my antenna on. This is a far more optimal location than my roof for a variety of reasons.
I'm thinking about throwing a network tuner inside the shed and going fiber to the house as opposed to running a long coax and thinking about preamps/etc.
I'm also assuming/hoping this will eliminate the need for proper grounding of the coax and mast.
What do you guys think?

w2aew video on resonant antenna tuning,

So, i have a extendable/telescopic antenna on the receive end of my wire antenna, so i can physicaly extend and retract it to fine tune the actual length of my antenna.
I swear it works for some reason, i just listen to sw radio, but if i have the telescopic antenna just right, tje whole antenna resonates with the freq you want better.
Its not emperical, but i totaly can hear the difference in how clean stuff comes in
I have the Yaesu FRG-7700 receiver, for which this tuner was designed for. They go on ebay for around $140. My concern is that its quite an old model, and a new modern tuner can be found for just a little more, so is it worth getting this to pair with the FRG-7700 receiver in 2021?
Thinking about the SG-235 Smartuner. Any experiences with that? Looking for something thatβs very weatherproof and well-made. Cost not too important.
Arenβt they just a variable capacitor and inductor? The wattage rating I understand makes sense. I would assume any antenna tuner would tune any antenna for any frequency. If I saw one for 2 meters and were able to tune an antenna for 10 meters, would any black magic appear? lol
Hello guys, I'm trying to setup 2 DVR tuners, one is a HDHR for my antenna, and the other xteve for IPTV. I can set up the tuners fine, except for when it come to "channel mapping" of the second tuner.
Essentially, if I load my XML for my EPG, when I go to add my HRHR for my antenna, I don't have the option for plex to search for antenna EPG like it usually does. I only have the choice to map the channels to channels from IPTV EPG. And because of this, I can't actually add my 2nd tuner channels.
Anyone know how to solve this or have a work around?
EDIT: I have plexpass, so am talking about using Plex's built in EPG for the HDHR.
I'm looking for a preselector to peak longwire antenna signals for my receiver, and see a lot of random wire antenna tuners on the used market. I was wondering if I could use an antenna tuner to achieve the same or if they are not the same at all.
Next gear I am gonna buy is either SWR meter or antenna tuner with SWR meter. I know the Icom7300 (which I have) has internal tuner but I am going to buy VHF/UHF radio later and tuner would be good for that use. Perhaps non internal tuner radios later.. Which one do you prefer?
I'm in need of an antenna tuner for my equipment. Most tuners are lower power and I need something that will run around 300 watts output (peak) or about 220 watts D.C. I am not looking for an automatic tuner. I want a manual one. My antennas use coaxial cable connections but having a long wire option would also be desirable to me.
Suggestions?
What models and brands to you suggest.
I have read that an antenna tuner shouldn't be necessary if you build/buy resonant antennas for the frequencies you plan to use. I would still like to add a tuner to my toybox.
I like the simplicity of an automatic tuner and how it can keep me from making a mistake but I feel a manual tuner would help me better understand the effects of varying the capacitors and inductor in the tuner. I'm still learning so I need all the help I can get.
What would you recommend for a newbie?
