Recently Netflix premiered Saturday Morning All Star Hits a parody of late 80s and late 90s children's programming created by Saturday Night Live alumni Kyle Mooney. In each episode a series of animated shorts are hosted by two radical 90s brothers named Skip & Treybor (both played by Mooney.) Many of the shows parodied in the series are fairly obvious spoofs, for example “Create-A-Critters” is riff on “puffy cheek” plush toy inspired shows like Care Bears and Popples. Also much of much of the humor is based on human failing. Randy for instance is a college aged depressed parody of Denver the Last Dinosaur who binge drinks as a coping mechanism. Skip and Treybor develop a toxic case of sibling rivalry after a voice acting role propels Skip to greater fame and popularity. Meanwhile reality keeps crashing in on Skip & Treybor's neon colored lo-fi world. Cartoon segments abruptly end or become drastically retooled while an OJ Simpson-esc trial begins to interrupt the show.

While you don't need to be a 90s kid to appreciate the show's humor what many have missed is that Mooney is satirizing a very specific programming block that marked the death knell for children's animation on one of America's largest and most respected networks.

A Titan In Decline

In the 80s NBC was a major player on Saturday Mornings largely thanks to such hits as Smurfs, Alvin & The Chipmunks, and Disney's Adventures of the Gummie Bears. However by the time 1990 came along the network was in dire straights. The Gummie Bears bounced off the network to ABC in 1989 only to bounce again to the widely popular Disney Afternoon block in 1990. The Smurfs would experience an awkward retool 1989 that sent them on time traveling adventures in an attempt at a season-long serialized story that was ultimately unresolved due to the show's cancellation. In 1990 Alvin & The Chipmunks would become Chipmunks Go To The Movies and spend their last season doing parodies of timely films like Tim Burton's Batman and Robocop.

While NBC was slowly losing their strongest shows they were failing to make new hits. Shows like The New Archies and a bizarre animated adaptation of The Karate Kid were outright flops. The network also made baffling decisions. In 1988 an animated adaptation of Jim Henson's Fraggle Rock was canceled not due to low ratings

Disclaimer: I don't play TEP. Nothing against it, it's just not what my leagues do. This conversation will of course be different in that format, but it's not what I researched for this.

VORP. Any fans of baseball and basketball analytics will have heard this term already, but it's not anything I have explicitly come across in my years playing fantasy football. Value Over Replacement Player. How much better is your lineup when you have Player X starting than a 'replacement player'. For this one, like almost all of my other write-ups, I am using half PPR scoring and will be giving you SF evaluations when it comes to the QB position.

This all stems from Kyle Pitts. For years in my main dynasty league, I waded through the crapshoot of 'streamable' TEs. The David Njokus, Ricky Seals-Jones', C.J. Uzomah's, and Gerald Everett's. It was then that I understood true pain. So I was dead set on drafting the 'generational talent' the WR that plays TE, the man who is going to change the TE landscape. In some ways he did just that this season, coming 50 yards short of a record that has stood for 60 years. I love Pitts, and even if he wasn't consistent, the future looks incredibly bright. So when league mates text and offer me for Kyle Pitts my only thought is 'I can't go back'. Gone are the days of picking up the TE that plays against the Cardinals every week for me. I have to keep Pitts. By any means.

But is it that simple? Am I overvaluing Pitts? I mean I've turned down some pretty incredible offers just to keep myself from having to find another TE. Even the offers that throw in a Dawson Knox or Mike Gesicki in the package don't seem to do it for me. What is the cost of pivoting from a set and forget TE, to another really good RB or WR? Well, I'm out to figure that out right here, right now.

So I'm going to assume a few things, because I'm an irrational man with an irrationally smooth brain. I'm going to assume that

A - Pitts will have a Kelce-like career. Not TE1 for 5 straight season, but set and forget upper echelon TE.
B - Scoring overall from position to position will remain fairly similar to the last few seasons, because there's no way for me to predict anything else going forward.

At one point I will also use the perceived potential of Pitts and make some pretty lofty comparisons for him, none of which you shouldn't have heard already though. This is what it is like to own him and think a

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. I will be referencing this post numerous times, so I highly recommend you read the post I linked before reading this. Fair warning. There is a massive amount of Gaster in this post. If you don't really believe in Gaster being in Deltarune, then this post is probably not for you. My sincere apologies for the original post. It got way too speculative, with little evidence to back it up. As a result, I deleted it. This version should hopefully be an improvement.

This post will be divided into three parts. The first part will discuss Ralsei and W. D. Gaster's potential history together. The second part will discuss how Spamton and Noelle are connected. The third part will discuss how Kris also connects with Noelle and Spamton's struggle, how Ralsei tries to guide Kris into the direction that Ralsei deems to be correct, and some future predictions of Deltarune.

Part 1: Ralsei, Gaster, and the Roaring

This is him.png. Gaster says that the three heroes will banish the Angel's Heaven eventually. Ralsei also knows the prophecy, and he is quite eager to tell it to Kris and Susie. The thing is... Where did he get this information from? He resembles a young sweet prince, who knows little about himself. What I believe is that Gaster and Ralsei were initially cooperating at some point.

Ralsei has a multitude of meta-game knowledge. He knows about the SOUL, saving, keyboard actions, can direct the player's attention and control away from Kris (jail scene in Chapter 1, Susie and Noelle's Ferris wheel ride in Chapter 2), the overlay of the school in the Light World, can detect Kris and Susie when they are far from Ralsei, and even urged Kris to forget about what Spamton said to Kris.

Ralsei can also talk to Kris without the player's awareness. We've seen it after Susie fights Lancer in Chapter 1, and after Susie and Noelle's Ferris wheel scene in Chapter 2. We hear him saying something very interesting:

Keep in mind, Gunn has stated that he’s never set out to be the best on the mic like Conway or Benny. Rather, he aims to curate, bringing in wide amounts of features both mainstream and underground, and sets out to create a new vibe with each project.

Let’s bring it back to the burgeoning popularity of Westside Gunn and his label. Just this year, Gunn and Conway made a showing on Kanye’s DONDA, with Gunn even making an appearance at the third and final of Ye’s now iconic listening events. Gunn also linked up with Travis Scott for a heavily teased song, “LOST FOREVER”, the release of which is very much in the air right now. Tyler The Creator’s Call Me If You Get Lost was just nominated for a Grammy, and Tyler has gone on record to say that [Gunn was a massive influence on the record]

I mentioned at the top of my previous mock draft post that one person mocks are fun, but they don't bring much to the table. It only allows you to see one perspective and wouldn't resemble many of your real drafts very closely at all. So I reached out to some of my favorite posters on this sub and through the glory of the internet, we mock drafted together. This is how it went.

1.01 Breece Hall, RB Iowa State (BirdSemen)

I know a lot of people are going to be upset that I didn't draft a QB. This was a tough call at the 1.01 between Breece Hall and Treylon Burks. I will likely flop between the two throughout the offseason. Gave Hall the nod this time due to RB positional scarcity. Hall is a good all-purpose RB with a nose for the endzone. I see him as an RB2 floor with Top 5 RB upside.

1.02 Treylon Burks, WR Arkansas (Killtec7)

A program defining career for the Razorback receiver. On top of an excellent college career, he will test ‘good enough’ at minimum. Solid profile including an early breakout against quality competition, and quality performance against man coverage. Don’t overthink it. If nothing changes between now and May–draft Treylon.

1.03 Matt Corral QB, Ole Miss (Swoody11)

When I was going through the pre-draft process, I remember saying “I generally don’t like touching QB’s from this class before 1.04.” Well… Here we are. What this pick comes down to, for me, is being more afraid of losing Corral and being “stuck” with any of the other guys if I pass on him at 1.03. I love Corral’s legs (very underrated part of his game) and think that his escapability will help him grow into a more refined passer at the NFL level. His ceiling is pretty high in my opinion but more importantly, I think he has a real floor as a stable NFL starter. I can’t say the same for any other prospects in this class, minus maybe Pickett.

1.04 Kenneth Walker III, RB Michigan State (Slyger_Woods)

I’ve started souring on Spiller just a little bit. On top of that, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Walker be the first RB off the board come draft day. I don’t think anyone is doubting Walker’s talent on the ground and from what I’ve seen I think he can offer a good enough receiving game to keep him on the field as often as possible. I was tempted to grab my WR2 Garret Wilson here, but positional scarcity brings Walker up a little further.

1.05 Isaiah Spiller, RB Texas A&M (BirdSemen)

There are five weeks left in the NFL season and with the last four teams wrapping up bye weeks, this is as close to the three-quarter mark as we’ll get to. Therefore, it was time for me to go through all the numbers, watch some more film and rank all 32 teams against each other heading into the final stretch.

I think there’s a fairly clear top-five, which you could order a few different ways and a couple of teams with the potential to join that group. And similarly, there’s a group at the bottom, which consists of about the same amount of teams, that have practically – and one even technically – eliminated themselves from playoff contention – and their play also reflects that. The middle group is really what’s hard to figure out, because some of those teams look like contenders one week and then let us down the very next.

Still, this is the list I came up with in the end, not just purely ranking the teams based on record, but also taking recent form into account and where they should come in, as I evaluate them at this very moment. Let’s dive into it:

1. Green Bay Packers (9-3)

Coming off a late bye, if there’s one NFL team that might have their best lineup out there as we come to a close for the regular season, the Packers would qualify for it. They did lose Elgton Jenkins for the rest of the season, which is big, because he gave them that flexibility, to where he could actually play all five positions on the O-line effectively, but they should get All-Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari back this week, along with Pro Bowl running back Aaron Jones. And then on defense, their two best players from a year ago in Za’Darius Smith and Jaire Alexander also have a chance to return on Sunday Night, while some of their young guys have really stepped up in those guys’ absence. I love when teams can win in different ways and when they’re not 100 percent – which Green Bay has done both. They can play ball-control, with the best time and turnover rate per drive and they’re a top-ten defense pretty much across the board in terms of numbers.
