A list of puns related to "Along Came Polly"
Iβm watching it and forgot Alec is in it. Dammit I hate heβs funny in it too π‘ another good movie ruined for me
Title, ive watched all three of these movies recently and ive been wanting more thats similar. Bonus one is that id like any movie similar to american beauty but i didnt know to include it in a title as its not really a romcom, thank you. Ive posted here before and suggestions were really great. Thanks.
I just watched the film "Along came Polly" and was glad to see a ferret represented on screen, but noticed the ferret in the movie made very different noises to mine. It sounded more like a bird than a ferret... is it actually a noise that ferrets can make or did they just add it to the film for effect?

Ze story of ze hippo is actually the story of Dan Lebatard. Cinephobiacs know this phenomenon as the "future callback" and I believe that is what is happening in this scene.
When Dan was a journalist, he was the zehbra.
At ESPN he was the leppard.
Now he live life happy. Happy as a hippo. You understand?
I'm not saying Hank Azaria is a time traveler, but you know what? Maybe.
I know people on Reddit can over-praise artists who passed away sometimes, but the guy went above and beyond what was required... It's a kind of sweet generic romantic comedy with Ben Stiller as a nervous middle class guy who falls for Jennifer Aniston's free spirit type - Hoffman plays his slobby, single best friend who gives him kind of slightly sexist bad dating advice - a pretty stock character, but he gave the role a real intensity that the script didn't demand - like you can see in his eyes he's had a past that left him this way and has inner struggles. Like Jack Black or someone could have played the role as a wacky outrageous guy, but Hoffman made him real.
I finally saw the movie Along Came Polly. To me itβs rather obvious that this movie contains the roots for at least two other Ben Stiller movies. The first movie is The Heartbreak Kid. The parallels are obvious and I donβt need to explain them. The second movie is The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Again the parallels are pretty obvious. Additionally I think the idea for the gang fighting Hispanic news anchor in the movie Anchorman also stems from this movie. Tell me I am wrongβ¦
Rewatching this episode, listening to Michaelβs song. Always thought he said βAlong Came Pollyβ just because it rhymed. But now Iβm thinking itβs because of the Indian food scene and in Michaelβs warped head thatβs relevant?? Maybe thatβs his idea of an Indian movie? Lol not sure why that just clicked
So, I havenβt seen the movie but as a UC sufferer it always turned me off. I just donβt think IBD is funny. A friend of ours will often reference it if we are having Spicy food. It just seems awful, is it one long sight gag at the expense of IBS/IBD sufferers?

My nightmare started a few weeks ago when the wind tousled her hair and my fingers went numb. It had been ten years since Ms. Polly had last come out to play, and the sight of her now made my chest so tight I could hardly breathe. Sitting slumped on my kitchen counter now with a tie dye of reds and browns flecking her yellowed dress, she looked like a zombie. There was something accusatory in the gaze of her remaining cracked eye, the sag of her porcelain lips; something that blamed me for the chunk missing on the right side of her face and the chips in her skin. Her shoe box burial had not been kind. Darren and I knew it wouldnβt be when we shoved all thirteen inches of her into a cardboard casket and buried her on graduation night.
We had found Polly on a lazy fall break evening in college when both of us, not yet 21 and left without bars or buyers for stimulation, had gone a bit stir crazy. Darren had been pitching the antique shop for days but I was reluctant at first. Darren was a vinyl head and insisted that antique shops had the best hidden gems if you dug deep enough. Finally, after days of not having anything better to do and slowly being chipped away at, I gave in.
About an hour in to flipping through box after box of nothing but moldy country and gospel records, Polly found us. She had been tucked away behind a milk crate, weather worn with sunken eyes and dark make up. Her grinning cracked face sent Darren flying when he found her. We laughed so hard that we decided to buy her and fill in the boring moments with seeing who could give the other the best mini heart attack. In that time, Ms. Polly Pissypants, so named for the yellow stain on her dress, had been responsible for three known cock-blocks, ten noise complaints, and taken a fist to the face for scaring Ryan Michaels. After graduation, we ended the game and buried her as a time capsule in the town cemetery. Somehow, she had found her way home.
I shuddered, flipped out my phone, and called the bastard.
βHey, this is Darren. You know the dealβ
Voicemail. Damn it.
βDarren? Heyβ¦ yeahβ¦ itβs Lewis. Grade-A asshole move, buddy. I let you help me move, forget to reclaim my spare key, and you fucking dig up Polly? I almost shit a brick! Iβm gonna get you back. Game on, man. When you stop laughing long enough, call me and bring over a six pack. Seeing her again has me reminiscing.β I said.
I ended the call and picked up Polly from her perch. She left sprinkles of dirt behind. I brushed t
