> Antetokounmpo was born in Sepolia, a neighbourhood in Athens, Greece. He is the son of Nigerian parents, Veronica and Charles Antetokounmpo. He has a Nigerian passport, which was granted to him in June 2013, so that he could gain a visa, and be allowed to legally enter into the United States. He received Greek citizenship in 2016. He started playing basketball at age nine, and in sixth grade, moved with his family to Milwaukee, where his older brother Giannis was playing his rookie season for the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association. He attended St. Monica School in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin and initially did not speak English.
> Antetokounmpo played basketball for Dominican High School in Whitefish Bay for four years. As a freshman, he averaged 2.9 points per game, and grew about 12 cm (five inches) to 2.03 m (6 ft 8 in) by the time he was a sophomore. Antetokounmpo was a two-time all-state selection and averaged 20 points and seven rebounds per game as a senior. He received scholarship offers from DePaul, Ohio and Green Bay. On 9 May 2020, Antetokounmpo announced that he would play in Europe after graduating from high school, rather than playing college basketball. He was considered a three-star recruit by major recruiting services.
> UCAM Murcia (2020βpresent)
> On 22 June 2020, Antetokounmpo signed a three-year contract with UCAM Murcia of the Liga ACB. On 18 October, he made his debut for the club's reserve team in the Liga EBA, recording 28 points and six rebounds, shooting 6-of-9 from three-point range, in an 83β69 win over SCD Carolinas.

>The Raptors have waived Freddie Gillespie and Reggie Perry, as reported earlier.
>
>Perry will be 905-bound unless he signs elsewhere. Gillespie's status unclear, as Memphis hold his G League rights.
>
>The Bonga/Dekker/Wainright decision extends on.
>
>The Raptors will eventually be signing Alex Antetokounmpo and Josh Hall to Exhibit 10 deals with these roster spots.
>
>This is the "sign & waive" I've mentioned a few times. No real Raps impact, just gets these guys to the 905 program + a bonus on G League salary.
>
>There should be time for the Raps to do one more of these Ex. 10 sign & waives ("Exhibit 0s" is a name I've been kicking around), if they so choose for 905.
>
>Antetokounmpo, Hall, Perry, Champagnie, Johnson, Banton, Breein Tyree, Jawun Evans, and Kevon Harris are likely 905 core.
>
>The 905 had acquired Michael Frazier's G League rights but sounds like he'll opt to head overseas.
>
>Still ways to add via that final Ex. 10, local tryout players, and the G League draft.
Looks like the rumours of the Raptors signing Giannis' youngest brother are true after all. He'll be headed to join the Raptors 905 this season
What do you guys think about his potential?
I know itβs wrong to assume that just because heβs related to Giannis that heβd be a gifted basketball player as well, but looking at his raw tools, his measurables, his youth, and pairing that with our teams development, what kind of player do you guys think we can turn him into, realistically?
Iβm no basketball professional, but I get the feeling he has a lot of potential and can become something special himself
Sort of an update to the Antetokounmpo signing but the deal is reportedly not finalized; it is going to be a training camp deal that could lead into a G-League contract. https://nba.nbcsports.com/2021/09/17/raptors-reportedly-close-to-training-camp-deal-with-alex-antetokounmpo/
>The youngest Antetokounmpo brother may be in the Toronto Raptors training camp this year.
>
>According to a report out of Greece, Alex Antetokounmpo is negotiating a training camp contract with the RaptorsΒ (via EuroHoops.net).
>
>This would be an βExhibit 10β contract, a training camp invite with a financial boost if he signs with the Raptorsβ G-League team.
What do we think of Alex's chances of making the cut? The linked source labelled him a longshot but from what stats I could dig up of his high school years, Alex averaged an impressive 20/7/2 in his senior season at Dominican High. That said, being good at high school basketball doesn't automatically mean those stats transfer over 1:1 to the NBA level and I don't have any point of reference for how difficult the Spanish league he signed up for is compared to other European basketball leagues or college basketball in the U.S. In terms of them getting a two-way contract, and correct me if i'm wrong in my understanding of how those/G-League deals work, but there's quite a few players competing for a spot on our roster as is via training camp and there's a very limited number of openings left to make the roster, even less when you consider that Yuta is almost guaranteed one of them. To my uninformed eyes, this looks like a low-risk opportunity with a medium-to-high reward in the long-term with our development staff but I could be entirely wrong in viewing this beyond "lol we got our own Antetokounmpo the league is screwed" memes.
havenβt heard any news on his apparent signing since it was reported.
Just learned that Giannis has a fourth brother named Alex Antetokounmpo because he said he might be better than Giannis is. Obviously, Giannis is just trying to hype him up but this guy can't be half bad given this family's history of genetics.
If you want to watch some of his highlights, you can watch them here.
Here is what I could find about him (there is a serious lack of info on this guy)
Height: 6'6
Weight: 214
Wingspan: 7-2
Age: 19
According to a lot of websites, he's expected to grow even taller and his wingspan is supposedly going to get even larger, similar to how Giannis got taller after he entered the NBA.
Here is what I could find on him from what scouts have been saying:
>"Alex is developing elite physical tools, similar to his brother Giannis. He should continue to grow over the next few years and could top out at nearly 7 feet tall with a massive wingspan. He shows flashes of how good he can be and should develop consistency and expand his game over the coming years. He projects as a potentially elite level defender and high level rebounder for his position.
>
>Heβs got good open court ability and will only get better, as he grows into his body and improves his coordination. Heβs got good defensive instincts and a nose for the ball.
>
>His game is still very raw and undeveloped and his offensive game lacks polish. He doesnβt shoot the ball consistently well and doesnβt have a great handle (yet)." source

... keep reading on reddit β‘Just as the title suggests. Do you want the cavs to draft Alex A. in the draft this year. Giannis recently came out and said he could be better than him. Unlike Kostas and Thanasis he has a more well rounded game too. I think itβs worth taking a flyer on him. Thoughts?

What are your thoughts about this kid?
Knowing Giannis and his brother is playing in the Bucks, I feel like Giannis is still the better player than his other brothers who are playing. I'm not too heavy on his youngest brother, but if he can play and help out... why not?
I don't expect the same glory as Giannis can bring.
Please it is not a risk at all, he has Giannisβs genetics. Please sign him as a UDFA
As the title suggests, forgive my ignorance as outside of the top 3-5 players in this yearβs draft, I am not too knowledgeable about the pool of players waiting to hear their name being called.
Given that the Suns are picking 29th tonight, it is safe to assume that our selection isnβt one that will be thrust into a rotation or will be expected to make us better immediately. Rather, we will draft the best available player that fills the biggest need we have. Given that, what are your thoughts on using the pick on a punt of a player that may be a project now, but has the tremendous upside to potentially become a solid player for us.
Here is where I say the Suns should bite the bullet and draft the mini Greek Freak, Alex Antetokounmpo. He is expected to be taken in the 2nd round, and our pick is damn near a 2nd round pick anyways. Giannis exclaimed that the youngest brother has the potential to be even better than him. Granted, that may just be Giannis being a good big brother and raising his stock by talking him up, but from what Iβve seen he looks to be a very unique player with size, skill, and athleticism to boot. Yes he is very raw still, and yes it is a huge gamble as the other 2 Antetokounmpo brothers not named Giannis have not reached the same heights as Giannis.
I am curious to see what everyone thinks. Yes, we already have a project on our hands with Jalen Smith (who I believe will come good for us), but I wouldnβt mind seeing the Suns take a wildcard if the situation allows it. We could also potentially trade down to select him as well. We just saw Philly pay $2M in cash considerations for the 53rd pick in the draft. By that rate, would we not get a handsome haul for a pick 24 spots higher? I am just proposing a wild idea and am curious to see what you all think. Cheers and I look forward to a great offseason for this team. Letβs go Suns.
>Giannis Antetokounmpo, when asked about his contract, says: "Right now, I am not focused on that. I am just trying to focus on myself."
>He adds that he is leaving those discussions to his agent, Alex Saratsis, and the front office.

Does anyone know if heβs going to declare or already has? I feel like he could be a flier in the second round.
Like a higher upside sekou , in the second round weaver should draft him and at least put him in the g league
Alex Antetokounmpo, the 2001-born brother of Giannis Antetokounmpo, has graduated from the Dominican High School where he showcased his talent and despite getting notable offers from the NCAA, he is considering European basketball the best way to prepare for the NBA.
βI am examining my options, I have a few choices from the States, but I have decided to play in Europeβ, Alex Antetokounmpo explains to Eurohoops. βI want to become a pro as soon as possible. I was born and raised in Europe, I know European basketball and the best thing for me would be to sign a contract with a European club. I will have to train and compete against grown men, I will experience strong competition and pressure and I will evolve on every levelβ.
Alex becomes the fourth Antetokounmpo brother to win a title in the NBA with his summer league win tonight.
Kostas in 2020 with the Lakers
Thanasis (and Giannis too I guess) in 2021 with the Bucks
Alex in Summer League 2021 with the Kings
Do we sign Alex if he goes undrafted in the upcoming draft !!
