A list of puns related to "African American representation in Hollywood"
On Jan. 14, 2016, all 20 Oscar nominations in the acting categories went to white performers for the second year in a row, elevating the stature of OscarsSoWhite.
Subsequently, the Academy Awards has made several efforts to change the culture and admitted a more group in the voting committee.
Wing Lee, production designer for film and television was nominated for a seat as a voting member.
Do you think Asian Americans are seeing more representation in Hollywood on and behind the camera? Does more work need to be done?

I'm talking about foreign movies, of course
Forgive me if this is a stupid question. I am not trying to be ignorant and this is a genuine question.
I attended an R-1 university in the Midwest there are 3 big things I notice among faculty and graduate students when it comes to diversity. If anyone has a hypothesis or reason for this please comment below.
How is this possible? Do these graduate students all go into industry/hate academia? Why isn't there a higher percentage of Asian representation?
Why is it that I rarely see faculty(Chem/Bio/engineering) who are African American? Again one professor in the Biology department and one professor in the chemistry department. (Both have around 50 faculty members)
Why are the number of graduate students who are African American (In STEM: Chem Bio/Engineering) very low? What stops these students from entering graduate school?
Please understand I'm not trying to be ignorant. I'm a first-generation college student from an underrepresented group and I just want to understand what's going on. Thank you
Isnβt it logical that you eventually will see less of them in schools and the media?

Don't forget to read the comments!
I was just looking at deadpool 2 on rotten tomato to see what rating it got and whether it would be worth it to watch. Then it struck me, the poster/cover for deadpool featured an giant afroed African lady right smack dab in the front, bigger than deadpool, bigger than cable. Thatβs when I realised that Hollywood is perfectly fine pushing the diversification Agenda for the African American community. Further researched showed me that Domino is actualy completely white with no afro. Yet they had no problem casting her as the the African community is unified, strong, loud, and not afraid of confrontation. On the other spectrum, the Asian community is much more fractured. I did some research on race mixing Marvel superheroes (such as Namor). People say oh, there are no asian superheroes that could be the main character. Well look at Domino, if it fits their agenda and their wallet so they will do it. This is the time to make our voices heard. Letβs not wait around for the βperfect castβ. The next Captain America should be an Asian man.. (If i was a hardcore comic fan, I would be pretty irritated with the Domino cast as it doesnβt look anything like her)
