A list of puns related to "Affirmative prayer"
Father|Mother God,
I pray for the heartbroken loved ones of people killed by police officers this year.
Lord have mercy. ๐
I pray as well for the heartbroken loved ones of the courageous police officers who were killed or injured in the line of duty faithfully protecting other citizens.
Christ have mercy. ๐
May all know the healing touch that comes from experiencing the Light, Love, and Peace of God.
Lord have mercy.๐
I ask that you give wisdom, courage, and insight to those who are fashion programs for police departments around this nation; that racial and implicit bias training is established; that deescalation techniques become the new norm; that more female officers are hired; that police departments match the diversity of the neighborhoods in which they serve.
Christ have mercy. ๐
Help us and other citizens to recognize that these and other measures can and should be put into place throughout all our communities so that we may develop mutual respect and understanding; working to end this current, seemingly never-ending, cycle of hatred and violence.
Lord have mercy. ๐
May each of us remember that only love can conquer hatred; that we are not enemies, but fellow Americans, neighbors, brothers, sisters, friends, and human beings; and may we act accordingly to each other.
Lord hear our prayer. ๐
In the name and faith of Jesus Christ I pray. โจ
Amen. ๐
So be it. ๐

Gay Christian here just seeking others of like heart who would enjoy sharing the monastic office, lectio, centering prayer together through Zoom. Iโm creating a listserv if youโre interested in the group. Please private msg me with your email if this appeals.
I have a background in contemplative studies, seminary, spiritual counseling, and have made many monastic retreats. It would be wonderful to share all of this with with A close circle of gay/bi men seeking fellowship and a structure for the discipline of centering prayer in their lives.
Would love to hear from you! Peace of Christ

I've been struggling intensely with using "So mote it be" as I have picked up on more prayer and spellwork. I am looking for new ways to seal spells, end prayers, and affirm, and stumbled upon the Yoruba word 'Ase'. Many cultures take their traditions very seriously and exclusively, so I was wondering if it would be applicable for me to use the word even though I do not commune with the Yoruba.
Any advice is appreciated, as well as any suggestions for other phrases and affirmations besides "So mote it be." ๐ฎ
This is a short powerful prayer taken from an Israel Regardie book, my suggestion is to meditate on this once a day, for about 10-15 minutes and also say it gently to yourself, just before you go to sleep at night, so it makes a deeper impression on your subconscious.
Key points on how to pray-
It is important when we pray, that we do not just say the words like a parrot would. We must speak these words from the heart, we want to feel these words deeply in our heart and stomach.
It is crucial we say the words feelingly and speak from the heart, not the head.
It is important we feel the words are True to some degree and not just in the realm of fantasy, if we wish to leave deeper and lasting impressions on our own subconscious mind.
Remember, you are made in Gods image and you are Perfect right here and right now, you are not perfect tomorrow or by this time next week, you are Perfect right here and right now. Feel the fulfilment of your perfection already being realised within you.
"I am made in the image of God. God is perfect.
Therefore, this imperfection, this sickness, this poverty, this problem, is a mere shadow.
I deny its existence. It is error, it is false belief.
My character is divine, and unspotted.
I am perfect, even as God is perfect.
I am the temple of the living God."
May the love that I give be equal to that which I recieve
May I never forget my value
May I never give someone else the power to decide that value
May I find the courage to love with a full and open heart
May I find the wisdom to know who is capable of loving and being loved by me
When i last became a non celibate gay christian i really felt like the connection i had with God, was gone. and i feel like the same might be happening now, im not totally sure. but it kinda feels that way. like this time i feel like God is listening to my prayers, but it feels like Hes choosing not to act on them. and i feel like maybe theres a correlation? i just worry honestly that being gay is gonna ruin my relationship with God now.
i mean especially when i realise most gay christians havent even had strong experiences with God Himself, where He tells you something or does something massive after praying about it. its just like... every professing Christian i know is anti lgbt.
so i do feel like im probably in the wrong. but when i think of being gay it just feels so right. and i can even think of the Bible to back it up. but somehow my relationship probably isnt the same. im not 100% sure, but i do feel like ive been constantly praying about so many things this month, and have received almost nothing back... does anyone else experience this? are there any gay christians here who do have their prayers answered or anything like that? thank you!
