A list of puns related to "Adi Shankar"
Taken from an interview from USAToday, Adi Shankar had this to say:
βWithout getting into the weeds on dirty laundry, [writer] Warren [Ellis] and I did not have a good personal or professional relationship after Season 3 and 4 commenced, and we stopped communicating directly around mid-2019,β Shankar explains βIt turned ugly very fast. The wonderful folks at Netflix attempted to mend the bridge, but there is beef there.β
So it's possible, but not in any way, shape or form confirmed, so don't take my word for it, that the way Ellis handled Alucard and Hector in S3 were done to spite Shankar, since in his early interviews, Shankar talked about how those two in particular were his favourites and he promised that Hector would become more like his game counterpart.

Edit: To clarify my opinion on Ellis spiting Shankar, it's due to the freudian nature of the sex scenes and the power plays/domination involved and the specific choice of those two characters in particular, who Shankar stated were his favourites and wanted to adapt faithfully so it can be read as a very intentional slight. I used to study psychology, so I'm applying what I learned, I'm in no way claiming to be 100% right, I'm just stating my opinion.
People like Ellis are an open book, really, once you really study their interviews. Ellis is very, very controlling, it's part of the reason he and IGA never got along back in 2007 when the project was still a movie since IGA tried his best to really tone down some of his weirder antics through extensive review of his drafts and demanding several rewrites and I feel it might've been the same case with Ellis and Shankar, with the rest of the team ultimately siding with Ellis.
It's all theorising on my part, even if some of the interviews act as proof of sorts, though, so feel free to disregard it if you disagree.

βI feel like I can meaningfully contribute to the lore of the series,β Shankar says. βDevil May Cry has unique iconography and emotionally engaging lore. As a media property, itβs also not rigid the way something like Call of Duty is. The characters in DMC have an operatic depth and they experience growth across the series so itβs fun to β in a Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase 3 kind of way β play with and explore that depth through the lens of psychological realism and dissect the trauma buried below the surface of that depth.β

Recent interview with Adi Shankar about his upcoming Devil May Cry animated project, announced back in 2018.

Resume of the DMC part:
-Last, but definitely not least, we wanted to see if there were any updates to Devil May Cry, the series that Shankar announced back in 2018. At the time of the interview, he said the script has been completed and production should be starting early next year.
"My Devil May Cry series has to be as visually inventive as the games are," he said. "And I'm going for the static that captures beautiful chaos while being an ode to Capcom. I want kinetic theory. LikeΒ it's got to have its own sleek aesthetic and bombastic identity. And a project only gets to that level of of layered richness if its creator meticulously pours their soul into every step of the process. And that's what I've done. And that's what I intend to keep doing on this project."
Shankar further explained that the delay was because he wanted to project to "be developed by DMC fans for DMC fans,"Β which only makes us more excited to see what he does with the series, especially given the rumors that it may focus on Danteβs brother and nemesis, Vergil.-
Hey, KlingonVampire here. I'd really like to know how everyone here feels about Adi Shankar's Devil May Cry animated series. Personally, I can't wait.
So according to Shankar, the scripts for season 1 are done and production is expected to start at the beginning of next year.

Someone was talking about the new DMC Anime on Adi Shankar's post on Instagram and he replied to him. And it seems like DMC Anime is still coming. I was honestly really worried about the new DMC Anime. But now I feel relieved. βΊοΈ

At this rate who knows when or if the new anime would become a reality but I'm worried that Shankar suing the production company he collaborated with for Castlevania could kill our chances of it happening.
For anyone who isn't aware, they decided to do a spinoff/sequel based on Richter Belmont without Shankar's involvement and he sued them over it. Warren Ellis wrote the series (over a decade ago) but as far as I'm aware, Shankar was responsible for Netflix giving it the greenlight after Ellis failed to get any backing for it during the prior decade, with even Shankar himself being offered and turning down the director's position back when it was being shopped around as a live action adaptation. Shankar felt live action wasn't the right medium for Castlevania and turned it down at the time but later acted as a producer on it when it switched to an animated adaptation.
If I'm not mistaken, Shankar himself got the rights to DMC rather than Netflix or the production company having them. So I imagine it's unlikely that the Castlevania production company would want to work with him again going forward and with how big a success Castlevania was for Netflix, I can see them not being eager to work with him either.
Shankar himself seems like a pretty dedicated guy and he clearly cares about these game adaptations as shown by him turning down the live action Castlevania but getting the same adaptation off the ground and out of development hell when it was shifted to animation but I can see him ending up in the same position as Ellis was with Castlevania for a decade. Has the rights and possibly has the series planned out but unable to get it off the ground.
For all I know the guy has plenty of other connections that could get the project up and running but likely burning his bridges with Netflix and the people who did Castlevania seems like a major blow to our chances of it ever happening after how long Ellis was unable to get Castlevania off the ground despite having the rights and the adaptation planned out for over a decade.
Anyone know any info about it? Or was it announced once back in 2018 then went totally silent?

I have a feeling that Adi Shankar's not big on Castlevania S3 since he's been largely silent about it. He promoted the hell out of S1 and S2 and gave a lot of interviews, but so far nothing on S3. I believe this because he said he loved Hector and Alucard and they were literally fucked over in this season. He also complained about Amazon's Lord of the Rings bringing darkness into a hopeful story which is exactly what S3 did. What do you guys think?

βBerserk needs to come back. If someone reputable gets me the rights Iβll bring it back in that 2D hand-drawn vibe and make is closer to the manga, because the hyper-detailed beauty of Kentaro Miuraβs artwork in the manga is the true masterpiece.β

Has anyone noticed the parallels between Samus and Alexia? Blonde armor clad woman who was taken in and trained by a mysterious, wise but dwindling race who is ACTIVELY seeking to vanquish her ungodly foes. Maybe a stretch but Adi Shankar did specifically say he was interested in making a Metroid anime. This almost strikes me as a testing ground for a characterization of Samus that would work pretty well! Or maybe just a fan expressing some love. Either way Alexia is an absolute badass with a stoic heart of gold, her portrayal in this show definitely calls to Samus
This show is fantastic, I think it would appeal to many people in this sub! - Adi Shankar is also the producer of the Castlevania and apparently working on a Hyper Light Drifter anime. The animation style would lend it's self beautifully to Metroid, he would do divine things with screw attack and shinespark animations.
I'm personally a huge fan of the animation style of Castlevania and to see that applied to Berserk would be just insane imo. I've only seen Season 1 of Castlevania but I dug it, it was cool.
I just found out about Shankar wanting to do Berserk (I know that was a couple of years ago but I'm a new Berserk fan) and I just think the possibility of him rebooting Berserk and making something better than the 2016/2017 show is so cool
How possible do you guys think it'd be for Shankar to gain the rights and reboot Berserk?
