OTD: 53 years ago, F-4s from the 8th Tactical Fighter Wing, led by Col.Robin Olds, and βelectronicallyβ disguised as F-105s, tricked 16 N. Vietnamese MiG-21s into battle at a disadvantage (Jan 2, 1967). The result: 7 MiGs went down for zero American loses. Operation Bolo was a complete success.
