A list of puns related to "69 Love Songs"
Know itβs not technically Fantano related, but 69 Love Songs by The Magnetic Fields got taken off Apple Music. Anyone know whatβs up?
#Recap
Wanted to get this out on Valentines, sorry about the very small voting time.
Decided to allow two songs per artist on the list because there were a few times the artist's songs were very close and it was hard to tell which one was higher.

Hello everyone and welcome back to For Your Consideration, the weekly thread where users on here pick some of their favorite albums not on the essentials list and why they should be there.
This week, /u/kappyko presented me a nice little write-up on The Magnetic Fields' 69 Love Songs.
Artist: The Magnetic Fields
Album: 69 Love Songs

The Magnetic Fields is an indie pop group from Boston, formed in 1989 by leader Stephin Merritt. He's the Magnetic Fields' Stuart Murdoch. In their early years, the band was just Merritt writing lyrics and providing the instrumentation with Susan Anway providing vocals. Their most famous single, 100,000 Fireflies, was released during this period, as were their first two albums Distant Plastic Trees in 1991 and The Wayward Bus in 1992. They soon realized that holy shit, Stephin Merritt has a great voice and began featuring it from their House of Tomorrow EP onwards. In 1994, they released their first full album with Merritt on lead vocals, the long-travels-with-vampires-themed The Charm of the Highway Strip, along with the album Holiday later in the year. Just one year afterwards, they released Get Lost, which is... pretty good. Not much else to say about it.
So what about this album?
Stephin Merritt was sitting in a gay bar while listening to a pianist play Sondheim songs and decided to write 100 love songs to introduce himself to the world. Then he realized ok maybe I'm underestimating how many songs that is?? and settled on 69 love songs instead. "I'd have a theatrical revue with four drag queens. And whoever the audience liked best at the end of the night would get paid."

69 Love Songs is exactly what it says on the tin. (See also: Leonard Cohen's Ten New Songs, Public Image Ltd.'s Album, BADBADNOTGOOD's discography.) Admittedly, the concept of the album is kind of gimmicky (and a bit juvenile), but it's a nice selling point. Though I would rather have people not judge me when I say "I guess my favorite album is 69 Love Songs."
The first track, "Absolutely Cuckoo", is a great introduction to the album. You have the synth in the background, the looped guitar, and Merritt's monotone ba

Listen to this album a few times, and share your thoughts! 69 great love songs? Lots of filler and a lot of gimmick? Is there more depth to this album than most would think? What is this album really remembered for? Why do you still listen to it after all these years/if this was your first time listening, did you enjoy it? Please remember that this is not the place to give a number rating or a one word response.

Seriously you guys made my day! Thank you for the awards as well.
I'm a not a native English speaker. I recently heard the song 'Piano Man' by Billy Joel. I instantly fell in love with the song. I don't know what it was about the song but it just struck a chord. What other similar songs do you recommend to someone who hasn't heard a lot of songs in English? .
