Hello, before I start, if you don't know what Ranndet is, " Randnet was the subscription based online service for the 64DD. To use it, the player would have to plug the N64 modem in the cartridge slot. " [Quote from the 64DD Fandom], and the 64DD was a Disk Drive add-on for the Nintendo 64 that would go on the bottom of your Nintendo 64. But let's get to it, We already have 2 coders helping u out with Translation and bringing back the service, but we need more people, because then it can be done in a faster pace, and maybe even get a beta release sooner!
Now, I want to answer some questions you might have, so that there are none of these question on our Discord server:

#On this day (December 1) in Nintendo history...
Nakayama Miho no Tokimeki High School was released in 1987 for the Family Computer Disk System in Japan. In this dating sim game, developed by Square, you have transferred to Tokimeki High School. You befriend a strange boy in class called Sadakichi who confesses he is a fan of teen idol Miho Nakayama and he gives you a phone number to her fan hotline. After class, you run into a girl in the corridor who drops a small mascot toy. When she comes back for it, you realise she bears a striking resemblance to Miho Nakayama herself.
Heisei Shin Onigashima: KΕhen was released in 1997 for the Super Famicom in Japan. In this adventure game, developed by Nintendo with Pax Softnica, you play a series of side-stories to the Famicom adventure game Famicom Mukashibanashi: Shin Onigashima, telling the previously untold stories of Ringo the dog, Matsunosuke the monkey and Ohana the pheasant, as well as revealing the backstories of Donbe and Hikari when the Avatar of Darkness was awakened.
Heisei Shin Onigashima: Zenpen was released in 1997 for the Super Famicom in Japan. In this adventure game, developed by Nintendo with Pax Softnica, you have to make your way through the game by moving to different screens, talking to the various characters and taking part in timed or action scenes in order to progress.
The 64DD was released in 1999 in Japan. A magnetic disk drive peripheral for the Nintendo 64 developed by Nintendo with Alps Electric. It was originally announced in 1995, prior to the Nintendo 64's 1996 launch. The "64" references both the Nintendo 64 console and the 64 MB storage capacity of the disks, and "DD" is short for "disk drive" or "dynamic drive". New genres of games were developed due to the advent of 64DD's rewritable mass storage, real-time clock (RTC), and Internet appliance functionality. However, the system's commercial failure required many 64DD games to be released on traditional cartridges alone, ported to other consoles, or cancelled. Some of these standalone Nintendo 64 cartridge releases include the equivalent of the 64DD's RTC chip directly on board the cartridge, as with Japan's Animal Forest. The 4MB RAM Expansion Pak became a sometimes mandatory staple of Nintendo 64 game development, being packaged along with a few cartridge games. All subsequent Nintendo consoles would directly include RTC functionality.
Hello, a friend and I are working on a Randnet revival for the 64DD, but we need at least one coder with experience with reviving things and online coding, if you would like to participate, please DM me and we can figure something out!
I'm curious if anyone ever managed to get any 64DD up and running on the Mini, hardly a stellar lineup of titles but some interesting curios there.
Hypothetical 1:
Let's say the cartridge slot of your N64 is broken and the only fix is an entirely new N64. ...EXCEPT that there is the 64DD slot on the bottom. Does this have the same access to the system as the cartridge slot? If so, could a 64DD disk/flash cart/ODE theoretically be devised to play backups of your cartridges?
Hypothetical 2:
Let's say you have a 64DD but the drive is busted. Could this theoretically be replaced with an entirely different drive type (e.g., Sony MiniDisc)?
I know this is odd. This is also not about piracy. Once I know more, I can maybe explain more.
Thanks in advance
I'd like for there to be a way to play 64DD games without paying $1,000+ for a system, while still reading from an official disk. Has any company ever tried to recreate the 64DD?
Back in the mid/late 90s the 64DD was touted in gaming magazines as device that would solve the storage issue of the N64 cartridges: "10x the storage of existing cartridges!" In retrospect you can really see how it was a case of too little, too late.
It would be interesting to see the universe where the 64DD disks were the standard media it launched with to reduce production costs and give developers a bit more elbow room at the same time.
Edit: Mario Artist is SOLD to u/LiarInGlass
Edit 2: SimCity is SOLD to u/AlmostLosers
I have some 64DD games Iβd like to sell. First is Mario Artist Paint Studio, which is a loose disk with the manual and back art (no jewel case), which Iβm asking $40 shipped on. The next is SimCity 64, which has itβs original case, which Iβm asking $75 shipped on. I can do the whole lot for $100 shipped. Both games have been tested on my own personal DD and work great.

I was wondering, can you convert a .n64 file to a .64dd file?
Tried the .n64 cart conversion and also the ndd, on RA (wih mupen and parallel) and on pj64 and mupen64plus, but the hand cursor is invisibile.
Do you have same issues?

if so, anything i should know?
if not, why not? can or should we ever expect it?
