A list of puns related to "Yezidi"
We are a Kurdish religious minority spread throughout the geo-cultural region of Kurdistan, though some other old communities, consisting of descendants of refugees who fled their regions (see map) due to persecution from Muslims, also exist in Armenia, Georgia and Russia.
I'm a Yezidi from Shekhan district currently under Duhok Province. I've noticed that many people have misconceptions about our religion, so I wanted to do this to answer questions about Yezidis and our religion and help clarify up any misconception or confusion about us.
The Yezidi (Yazidi, Ezidi) are a centuries old ethnoreligious group pf people, the majority of whome speak Kurmanji Kurdish natively and minority of whom speak Arabic natively. They live in Iraq, Syria, Turkey, Armenia, Georgia and have a large diaspora in Germany. Some Yezidis identify as Kurdish and other Yezidis reject the Kurdish identity. Their religion does not allow converts. Their religion also forbids marriages between different Yezidi castes and with non-Yezidis. (There were some honor killings over relations with non-Yezidis in Germany and Iraq.) The Yezidis have been subjected to 72 genocides and persecutions in their history. ISIS, Kurdish tribes and the German Kaiser Wilhelm II backed Ottomans in World War I all perpetrated genocides on them.
The Yezidis have two hereditary leaders, the Mir (prince) who is their political leader and the Baba Shaykh who is their religious leader.

Kaiser Wilhelm II was an Ottomanophile Turcophile who supported genocide of Middle Eastern Christians and Yezidis. The Ottomans blasted a hole in the middle of Jerusalem's old city wall near the Jaffa gate for the Kaiser to parade through and the damage to the historical walls is still there today. I believe it's a car ramp today.
Kaiser Wilhelm II told Middle Eastern Christians under Ottoman rule like the Maronite Patriarch to convert to Islam or die off.
Kaiser Wilhelm II gave a medal to Ottoman Sultan Abdul Hamid II after Hamidian massacres of Armenians. Kaiser Wilhelm II allied with Ottomans during Adana massacres of Armenians and helped Ottomans during the genocide of Christian Greeks, Armenians and Assyrians as well as Yezidis in World War I. Ottomans committed mass slaughters and rapes with German help.
Kaiser Wilhelm II genocided the Herero and Namaqua people in Namibia committing massacres and rapes and massacred over 100,000 Blacks in German East Africa Tanzania including black Muslims and forced them to grow pork. By the way the Germans conquered Tanzania from Omani Arabs like Abushir (Al Bashir ibn Salim al-Harthi). Ottomans did not care. The Arabs including Abushir were killed in battle with German forces in 1888-1889.
Basically the Ottomans and Kaiser Wilhelm II agreed that the Ottomans could genocide Middle Eastern Christians and Greeks while Kaiser Wilhelm II could genocide Black Muslims and neither would care.
Kaiser Wilhelm II also hated East Asi
... keep reading on reddit ➡This week there seems to be a lot of Turkish attacks in Sinjar targeting Yezidi villages and even a refugee camp. Knowing the area/history/culture, I find it hard to believe that Turkey is defending itself by attacking poor villages and a camp of genocide victims. The only thing I can think of is that Turkey wants to further draw the Yezidis into their conflict in Iraqi-Kurdistan. But that's just my theory. I'm curious about what other people think is going on.
Hello everyone,
This is probably my first post in the group.I am a kurd from diaspora living in Europe and I am very proud of my kurdish identity like the rest of my family and especially my father (he is from the first youth generation of kurdish resistance during 80s in Turkey).I have grown in an utopia, thinking that all kurds are perfect and are liking their roots and country that they are understanding our struggle and the necessity to have our own country and nation.
Unfortunately the shock was violent the first time I have discussed with some kurds of Turkey (totally assimilated) and also with others prouds kurds having weird knowledges about our history and the structure of our kurdish society because they don't have enough knowledge about Kurds
Recently I have discussed with a kurd from bakur (northern kurdistan) during my holidays in Istanbul. We have discussed about last 10 years kurdish policies in the 4 parts and the criminal act commited by Turkey against kurds then we talked about sengal and Ezidi. He told me about an Ezidi ritual, happening once a year, in a large room with no light, with an orgie happening there. Told me that every individual more than 12 years old is participating to the event. So I have denied it, saying that it was fake propaganda made by Turkey and its pawns to demonize Ezidi because kurdish Ezidi are more difficult to assimilate than muslim kurds. Then he told me that an ezidi friend of him confirmed that this event existed in the past but don't exist anymore.I don't believe the existence of this event but I am surprised about the naivety of some of us that could use this kind of false rumors to kill them like in the past. What do you think about that and have you heard the same thing or others fake rumors regarding our kurdish brothers and sisters ?Thank you guys
