All the naphtha I've found leaves residue on a mirror so I dont want to use that. But I have read I can use xylene instead. Did the usual np/p extraction but i was left with 0 effects. Afterwards I check the left over xylene under a black light and it glowed blue showing it contained the LSA. Left me pretty confused haha
Has anyone here had issues from being exposed to xylene? I was unloading the truck on Tuesday and one of the containers was leaking. It got on my pants and a big puddle on the floor which I cleaned up. I inhaled a lot of it of course and since then have experienced drowsiness, a tiny headache that comes and goes and my heart wonβt stop racing. Iβm wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if it just takes time to get out of your system or if I should go to the doctor. Trying to eliminate reasons. TIA
Propylhexedrine extraction not going as planned this time, I've only ever used hcl, And naptha, but now I'm trying a new method and I see no distinct layering, or any separation at all, what did I do wrong? I used 5 cottons, 100ml glacial acetic acid, and 50 ml xylene.
If so, how well would they have gotten along?

I am reading through this extraction protocol. At the step where they have the mescaline in the xylene and are ready to salt it using an aqueous solution of HCl, they write the following:
>You want to add approximately 4-8 drops of HCL acid to 250-350ml of water. Slowly add this acid water to the xylene while gently swirling the liquids around in the jar. Add just enough to make a half inch or so layer beneath the xylene.

>Don't worry that you won't get all of the goods because the xylene is going back into the extraction bottle and you'll get another shot at what you missed before. Put the lid on the jar and shake it all up. Wait a few minutes and shake again.
>
>Once it has returned completely to a separated state loosen the lid on the jar and place it in the freezer. You want the bottom layer(the acid water) to now freeze solid. The xylene will not freeze. Once the water is frozen, work quickly and pour the xylene back into the extraction bottle.
>
>With the water still frozen solid, pour in a little warm water and swirl around and discard quickly. This helps get rid of a little more residual xylene. The rest will evaporate later.
>
>Repeat the extraction and salting steps 4 to 6 times to get all of the goodies. You can reuse the xylene over and over again.
Is there any actual advantage to freezing the layered aqueous mescaline HCl + xylene, other than facilitating separating the two layers? I haven't come across another protocol that freezes at this step. It seems like using a sep funnel would be less troublesome.

I just finished all of my naphtha pulls and I am going to try a pull or two with Xylene. Can anyone tell me how or drop a link on how to salt the spice out with vinegar? I know its doable but I cant find any instructions online. Thank you!
The xylene in the tissue processor turned a blue colour, still smells like xylene.
Anyone know what might be the reason?

Yo, so I did a pull with xylene after I was done with the naphtha pulls and it was apple juice colored and I got almost 2g of jungle spice out of it. I was running through some more bark and did the same thing. It was the same color and everything. I evaped it and almost nothing came out. Any idea what I did wrong? Thanks in advance.
Hello, I used xylene today for the first time to help strip sealant off a driveway. We sprayed and poured it all over and I was rather surprised by the smell and headache I've had for the rest of the day. I won't be using it often. Perhaps two or so more days of work. Should I be worried about these fumes?

I cant get naptha where i live but I can get pure hexane and xylene very cheap.
Its gonna be my first extraction so i need some advice before trying this.
I plan to use Xylene/Heptane mix (3:1) for first pull to get a product with the purity between pure white crystals and jungle spice and maybe re-x with Heptane/Xylene (5:1) later.
What you guys think ?
