A list of puns related to "Wingbeat"
Just came out of a class about how certain events shaped the future trajectory of my country and it got me thinking: what seemingly small event (in isolation) eventually resulted in some of essential bits of the Destiny Universe today? What would be a real neat butterfly effect from the past of Destiny's lore to the present, now as we await the Ritual to deworm SavathΓ»n?
(Forgive the formatting, am but a simple monke on mobile)
For me this would be the moment Mara watches someone die infront of her:
"She came because she saw an omen in a man's death. She was on EVA with him, repairing a jammed radiator fin on an uncrewed circum-Jovian platform. They worked in companionable silence, listening to the howl of the Jovian magnetosphere when it happened. A frozen rabbit embryo came out of deep space at forty kilometers per second and went through his faceplate. The rabbit must have been spilled in a biocontainer accident far from the sun to plunge back inward like a comet."
This one event caused Mara to become part of the Yang Liwei (as stated in the very next paragraph) and so comes the beginnings of the Awoken.
But looking from then till now, its profound to me that this one event would shape how Mara shapes the awoken, leading to them returning to Sol from the Distributary, leading to them supporting and defending the city on multiple occasions and even now, being at the forefront of our current shenanigans with Savathun. All because Mara saw someone die, because it made her feel like a coward:
"Because I asked us to leave, Mara thinks. Because something came out of deep space and killed the man next to me, and I saw the omen, and I said we should go. And now I feel like a coward."
Yea so I just think its hella cool that one of the biggest factors into why we still have a city and a critical asset against SavathΓ»n and even against The Darkness was all because of a frozen rabbit.
I want to teach it to my Salamence but I cant find the move tutor, I don't know if its post game or not.
This spell is gained simply by being level 1. It deals 67-108 time damage to one enemy.
So to start things off we have Wingbeat.
Since there isn't more to say about this spell so I'll just drop some lore.
Jasmine Sundial is a qhat hailing from the world of Mirage. Wishing to learn magic, Jasmine traveled to Wizard City to study at Ravenwood Academy. She enrolled into the Balance School as the other six options were.. never mind. Eventually, the young qhat got to visit Krokotopia and train under Professor Alhazred himself, but just like with the other schools, Balance too lost its appeal. The next day Jasmine dropped out of Ravenwood. Feeling sad and disappointed she moved back home to Mirage to doodle frowny faces in the sand. Not even her younger brother's usual antics could cheer her up.
"My parents were right. A House Qhat isn't to be a wizard."
Then she saw some qhats step into a teleporter. Jasmine's eyes widen. "The Chronoverge. Why didn't I think of it sooner? I should become a Chronomancer!"
Unfortunately, Jasmine grew tired of this as well. The Chronomancers only watch and protect the flow of time. They don't experiment, play with, nor try to manipulate it. Everything seemed to be against her.
"Are you sure about that? "
Jasmine looked around her before turning to face this strange dog that suddenly appeared. "Excuse me?" she asked.
"You were just thinking about giving up magic were you not? U-unless that hasn't happened yet. Tell me, my dear qhat. Is this the first time we've met? Yes? splendid!"
Poor Jasmine was confused. "My name is-"
"You're Professor Jasmine Sundial of the Time School!" Seeing the qhat's expression gave him pause. " And you didn't know that. Ooo sorry, spoilers." With that, the canine snapped his fingers and a red box with the word "TELEGRAPH" written on the side phased into existence right next to them.
Without thinking, Jasmine follows the stranger into the odd contraption. "Oh! by the way. You may call me The Professor."
"Um, the professor of what?" she asked.
"You mean "Professor Who" " Jasmine just gave him a look. The Professor sighed and moved on.
Jasmine decided to travel with the professor in his mysterious B.O.X. On the way, she saw many amazing and scary things. She also started work on a few time spells. She later became the professor of the School of Time and moved
... keep reading on reddit β‘Hello, can someone teach my scizor the (dlc) move dual wingbeat?
I can give you something on return, if you want! :-)
Dual Wingbeat is a new physical flying-type move with base 40 power that hits twice. Combine that with Scizor's high attack stat and the ability Technician, and you'd have a force to be reckoned with. Idk if this will be game changing, but I thought I'd let y'all know of this realization that I had. Have a fantastic day everyone!
So with the Technician boost, what you effectively get here is a 90 accuracy 120 base power physical flying type move that breaks sash. And that's coming of Scizors beefy 130 base attack stat.
And does this do anything for Scyther? 105 speed and stab for this move seems like it could potentially worth considering, as niche of a choice as that may be. Just a thought
In the crown tundra expansion, a few flying typing pokemon were brought back or added, which include salamence, dragonite, archeops, aerodactyl, altaria, crobat, and the kantonian and galarian bird trios. Out of these, I think the first five might be the most impacted by the addition of the Isle of Armor tutor move, dual wingbeat, to their moveset, since Crobat and galarian Zapdos already has decent flying stab in brave bird, so its more of a matter of damage vs bulk, and the other birds are special attackers that don't need a physical flying stab.
For those who don't know, dual wingbeat is a flying physical move with 90% accuracy (which is a pretty big downside tbh) that hits twice, each hit being 40 bp. Although the move itself is nothing too special, a lot of physical fliers were lacking in a reliable flying stab, as well as a good portion of fliers being sweepers who would like to get past focus sash effects (as well as breaking through fear and some sturdy pokemon as a niche side benefit). The flying stab is also quite nice, since it hits a good amount of threatening pokemon, for example, in OU, it hits Urshifu, Rillaboom, Amoongus, and Volcarona super effectively. Most of these mons already get earthquake also, which is very close to perfect neutral coverage, only accounting for less than 20 pokemon, although coverage for dragon/ground or rock/ground is also decent, so its not the biggest upgrade ever, but its still quite nice. I'll be refering to wingbeat + earthquake here as wingquake to save space since every mon analyzed here can use the combo. In formats with dynamax, being able to also boost your allies speed on a move that you can also use outside of dynamax adds to its flexibility.
First, we have salamence, who looks to be a great dragon dance moxie sweeper. You could run intimidate, but Dragonite might be better if you are looking for bulk, but both sets could work. Dual Wingbeat hits a lot more super effectively and gives a neutral hit to the fairies that could scare it off. With life orb, it looks like its a good option might be a dragon dance wingquake sweeper with a 4th move depending on the meta and team composition at the time, probably between fire fang, flamethrower, thunder fang, dragon claw, aqua tail, facade, or perhaps protect or tailwind in doubles.
For a more defensive take on Salamence, dragonite is slower, bulkier, and basically has the same attack power, but has better coverage. A bulky boots Multiscale dragonite
... keep reading on reddit β‘With stab factored in itβs a move thatβs only 20% stronger against neutral targets than Earthquake, procs helmet and has a chance to miss.
While itβs certainly alleviates the pressure on their move pools due to the synergy of Flying/Ground moves- allowing them to pick a meaningful 4th coverage option.
+1 Dual Wingbeat still doesnβt let them break Ferrothorn or Hippo. Or knock out Clefable or Pex before getting statused.
Now to be fair, you donβt need to beat every single check to be a good physical sweeper. Zeraora, Azu, and Craw all have viable checks in this metagame but still put in work. But itβs kinda depressing that Salamance and Dragonite canβt reliably secure 2HKOβs against any of the fatmons in G8 OU
So I guess Dual Wingbeat makes their choice sets stronger? Scarf Moxie Mence might be better? And I suppose Inner Focus Dragonite being immune to intimidate means itβs harder to pivot into.
As Serial Saturday here on /r/shortstories gets to the halfway point, we are starting to see the first of participants winding down their stories. Itβs been such a treat to watch people evolve their flash fiction serials with us and bring arcs to a close that for some have been with us for quite a while. For a good handful of writers on Serial Saturday, their stories are continuations of serials started on /r/writingprompts Theme Thursday weekly threads.
One such story comes from /u/Ragnulfr (or, as we know him on the discord server: Wingbeat, or just Wing), who from early on captured our hearts with his story of a young goblin with a gift, and the friends he makes along the way in learning how to use that gift. With twenty five installments all in all itβs a beautiful, cozy story that left us all thinking that these kinds of stories are what we need more in the world.
Hereβs the Purespark synopsis as written by Wing:
>A young goblin boy, scorned by his own kind and hated by the rest of the world, finds his only solace in magic, believing he can change the fate of his race by proving himself. But fate is not often so simple, and cares not for idealism. After purchasing a magic tome with money he had saved up, he fervently pursues a way to prove that goblins are capable of great good, as well. What awaits him at the end of this path - and how will his past shape the future for all of goblinkin?
In this journey weβve taken with Wing we have enjoyed his readings in the Serial Saturday campfire and also just getting to know him more. In the writing world it can be hard to find good online writing groups that not only provide critique but also really get in tune with each otherβs styles. With members like Wing we'd be hardpressed to find a better crop of such quality writers and community members.
Wing wrote a beautiful forward about his experience with us that I think is worth a read and Iβll quote here.
>*Hello! Thank you so much for reading Purespark! This story means a lot to me - and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to be able to write and share my writing with all of you - both up to this point and perhaps to the future! I'm so grateful for all of your support - and none of this would have been possible without you all. Through the happiest of times and darkest of moments, you all have made me feel welcomed and appreciated. I'm grateful for the opportunity to be able to at least repay and give back but a small portion of everything that

Title is pretty self explanatory, but to further explain I just need someone who can teach him Dual Wingbeat.
Dual Wingbeat can make more use of galewings, since you dont take recoil. Its also doing less damage though. I think if it can still one tap rillaboom like brave bird does, it would be worth. It would also take out sash whimsicott. My other moves are tailwind, flare blitz, and u-turn, with sharp beak. Not sure which to pick, thanks.
