A list of puns related to "Vindicating"
Everybody is enjoying and praising much more the Imperial arc, with people mostly just sitting and talking, its politics and big ideas^1, than the Foundation arc, with its hollow action and drama.
Hah, PsychoHistory wins! P-}
Yes I'm talking about Chief vs Atriox and how lots of fans think Chief should never lose a fight (like how Vin Diesel's contract states he can never lose a fight in Fast and Furious).
I read a lot of the Halo extended universe so I like viewing Halo as a large verse with a large array of characters, and subsequently, a lot of different power levels. Lots of fans gripe about Master Chief being portrayed as "not lore accurate" since the novels/comics portray a power level that's hard to show on-screen in-game or in cutscenes, but I find the loudest voices to be from more casual fans whose only exposure is from the games, who complain a lot whenever Chief is less than invincible or is portrayed as less than the strongest being in the Halo universe.
I suppose a lot of people expect Halo to just be shooting infinite amounts of faceless aliens and for their protagonist to never be challenged, akin to a series like Doom, but personally I'd just find it boring if Chief is just unbeatable all the time. And I won't just gatekeep casual fans either, lots of EU fans have the same issue, forgetting that Chief loses plenty of fights in the books.
As for the fight itself, I feel extra vindicated from how hard Chief got stomped. Hats off to 343 for this scene, Chief heroically gets up and gets a few good hits in only for Atriox to eat his shoryuken to the face and deck him again immediately. So far the writers have done a great job making Atriox a threatening villain rather than a chump like Jul 'Mdama, he's curbstomped every Spartan he's come across.
Lots of detractors saying "Oh, Atriox only won because he snuck up on Chief" or "Chief would win if it wasn't a melee fight." Halo is a series with the trope where every important fight devolves into close quarters combat. If the fight is in a cutscene, it's going to be a fist fight. Would anyone even wanna see Chief with an assault rifle and Atriox with a carbine hiding behind cover, taking turns shoulder-peeking each other from 40 meters away?
My only gripe with the scene is how Atriox ends it by being a cartoon villain -- he tells Chief that his will be the last face he'll ever see, and then drops him into space when he could've just kept bashing his head in until he was sure John was dead.
This past weekend I attended a Renaissance Festival with a group of about 20 friends with varying levels of connection. We arrived on Friday afternoon to set up the campsite, attended the Fair all day Saturday from open to close, and packed up to head home Sunday morning. All in all, it was a blast and I even picked up some jewelry for my wedding ensemble! All names have been changed for privacy.
Since we had such a big camp, we decided that it would work better to split into smaller groups for the majority of the day with set times and locations to take pictures, eat, or attend a specific show. I set out with the "Alpha Group" around 8:30am and our first Meet Spot was at 2:00 pm at the Rose Wedding Chapel. Around 1:45 we had just left the Magic Garden and Jeffin & Shiv wanted to ride the elephants. The line looked really long but they both had been ecstatically anticipating the elephants all day. So I called John (leader of the "Primary Group") to let him know that we might be a little late. He said they had just arrived at the Chapel, which was fine since early is on time but we needed to book it asap.
By the time I made it over to the elephant line Jeffin & Shiv were almost to the stairs and had apparently just handed over their money. The following is my best memory of the interaction.
>Me: GUYS HAVE YOU PAID ALREADY??? (they were pretty far away and I didn't want to cut into the line to get closer, that's rude!)
>Jeffin: YEAH WE PAID, WE'RE ON THE RIDE AFTER NEXT
>Me: goddamnit.... WE HAVE TO GO AS SOON AS YOU'RE DONE
>random elderly GenX/young Boomer male (aka a$$hol3) steps over to me
>A$$hol3: Excuse me, I don't think I've ever heard a young lady use that kind of language before in my life. You should really watch what comes out of your mouth!
>Me: stares him dead in the eye with my RBF in full force
>Me: gives him my best decimating sneer ...aaaaAAAAAAaaanyway... GUYS WE HAVE TO FUCKING GO. SO MOVE YOUR ASSES, THE DAMN PICTURES WONT TAKE THEMSELVES!
>Shiv: OKAY, BE THERE IN 3 MINUTES
>A$$hol3: visibly taken aback by my sudden increase of foul language and volume.
So I turned around and headed back to the rest of Alpha Group, Jeffin and Shiv had a wonderful time riding the elephants, and a$$hol3 went back to his wife and buddies thoroughly confused at being ignored and disregarded like I've been. I refuse to be told that some ancient white man has never heard a woman cuss, and I refuse to be t

I will refer to him going forward at GT (Gas Tank) because he likes to gaslight people, but he waits to have things to lord over you, storing them for later no matter how petty. I work at a call center I am a level 2 GT is a level 3.
I ended up taking time off for myself, and my sanity, plus I didn't want to be around anyone.
But at work today I had a conversation with a co-worker who asked me how I like working with GT, I tried to keep it professional, but they didn't and explained that others are having issues with GT, and the other Level 3s have been telling him to relax on the people below him, and it was explained that someone under one of the other L3s had increasingly heated interactions with them.
Don't get me wrong no one should have to go through this, but I can't say that a weight wasn't lifted the moment I heard that, is an understatement. I had been debating quitting and moving on, but hearing this makes me realize I'm not alone, and maybe I should speak up more. Also to know that I was being Gas-Lit and it wasn't just in my head, because I started to think I was the problem.
Hi, I am u/icametoconqueruranus. I am a long-time lurker and I thought I would join in on the conversation. (I think I like this sub better than r/UFOs). I made some connections this last couple of weeks and I thought I would share.
In an excerpt from βThe Government Bible,β Bob Lazar speaks of the ability to access and amplify the Gravity A wave and its outcomes. He is referring to Element 115 when he is talking about this. Once the electromagnetic wave is amplified, you can achieve what these crafts do that he claims to have worked on in S4. As many of you may already know Bob Lazar claims to have got his knowledge from working for the government at the S4 facility. I mention this previous point because it is important to differentiate where the two are getting their sources. In the documentary he states:
βThe most important attribute of these heavier stable elements is that the Gravity A wave is so abundant that it actually extends past the perimeter of the atom. These heavier stable elements literally have their own Gravity A wave field around them, in addition to the Gravity B field that is native to all elements. No naturally occurring elements on earth have enough protons and neutrons for the cumulative Gravity A wave to extend past the perimeter of the atom so you can access it. Even though the distance the Gravity A wave extends is as infinitesimal, it is accessible and it has amplitude wavelength and frequency just like any other wave in the electromagnetic spectrum. Once you can access the Gravity A wave, you can amplify just like we amplify any other electromagnetic wave.β
This language is actually very similar to what Delonge says in an interview with Joe Rogan. Delonge, being a Rockstar and not a physicist, claims to have gotten his knowledge from Dr. Hal Puhoff. Dr. Puthoff has 50+ years of experience as a research scientist at GE, NSA, Stanford, Sperry & SRI International. He is an advisor to NASA, DOD, etc. on leading-edge technologies related to energy generation and space propulsion (source: TTS website). I mention this because it is important to note where he is getting his information and that he is just not another Lazar fanatic. His phrasing is a little bit different from Lazarβs but sounds very similar. He states:
βWhat the machine does that weβre building is that there is an electromagnetic wave that is the foundation of everything. Of all mass. Of everything. Some people call it zero-point energy. Some people call

So I've been saying for a while that the terrorism card will need to be played soon to keep the "safety at all costs" narrative going.
Now it turns out that the AFL parade in Perth will be cancelled because "terrorists".
Boom!
I admit they started earlier than I thought but, clearly, this was the new tact they were going to take.
Now, the interesting twist here is that they want to move the parade to a closed venue with a 15K capacity.
So, why move the ceremonies to a closed venue requiring tickets. Well that's easy; profiteering. why have a free parade when you can 1) charge for tickets and 2) corral the attendant (this seems to be the standard go-to for any political group in power these days). the afl is hurting so what better way to raise a few extra million, directly through ticket sales, and indirectly through advertising and other streams.
But this is too obvious and will surely raise the ire of many. So what is needed is a diversion...
This creates in interesting dilemma; they can't play the covid card on this one because their argument fails:
Therefore, cramming ppl together will create a superspreader event.
Pretty straightforward contradiction there so covid is not going to work for them.
So, what else have they got. Well, terrorism, of course. There was a lot of talk by various australian "security" agencies last year and this about the growing concern around extremist groups (let's ignore for a moment the cause of the extremism). Recently we have had the unfortunate events in NZ to fuel the fear. So, what better card to re-play than terrorism. So if we take the parade to a closed venue we can keep our surveillance going AND turn a profit at the same time.
It's amazing how predictable politicians are getting, yet disappointing that the majority of prollies still seem to be completely oblivious to these endless political games.
That happened 3 times last week. One of those times she tried to say I hit her (my daughter told me she punched herself in the eye). Thankfully I videoed the whole thing in which she tried to attack me. The cop calls me and says βyeah, Iβm told by another cop sheβs a pathological liarβ. What a week.

Why does nobody ever believe me.
Yesterday morning I visited my pediatrician, who Iβm getting a bit old to see, and I was going about a month later than I wanted to because my parents told me what I was feeling wasnβt a big deal. After making fun of me for being lazy because I kept needing to sit down after doing the dishes and antagonized me with βwhat? Are you just so tired because youβre just doing the most? Because Iβm asking sooooo much of you?β After I didnβt go above and beyond helping to make dinner
And then I dragged myself, by myself, to my casual doctors appointment so discuss my fatigue and my period, only for them to check my blood levels and see my doctors face drop as she tells me I need to get myself to the ER for a blood transfusion because my hemoglobin levels are at a dangerously low level
The utter vindication of watching the ER doctor tell my father whoβs been kicking me around that most other people at a level like this couldβve had a heart attack.
I donβt know why Iβm making his post but Iβm just so tired of being ignored and dismissed, it just felt so good that I was actually right

I don't really have anything important to say, no question, no deeper meaning, heck, I almost feel like this is a post not worth making other than to be able to say it out into the world.
My first puberty sucked and one of the biggest things for me was that around the age of 15-19 I struggled with eating disorders. At the time I had no idea what trans was, I funneled my experience of my gender into that which I did know and at those ages I was really interested in psychology. So, it didn't matter if I knew that the body I was after was a woman's, I'd still say it's just body dysmorphia. It didn't matter if I felt feminine, that must be some delusion resulting from any number of mental health disorders [pick one!].
I put myself through so much grief and even though I managed to get my eating disorders under control, I still hated how I looked.
I remember at the age of 26 I went on a major health kick and was probably the thinnest I've ever been. I still hated it. I remember being fixated on my belly/waist/hips and my girlfriend at the time being like, "you look great!" and me responding, "no, it looks all wrong!"
Now, starting hormones at 10 years later, I'm no longer the thinnest I've ever been. I'm about 20lbs overweight, but changes to fat distribution and the seemingly general shape of those areas of my body make me so happy. It's like, all these years I might have thought that I merely always saw myself as fat, when in reality, I haven't lost any weight, but the shape of things brings me happiness. I could of course stand to lose weight and I'd like to, but I no longer look in the mirror and hate what I see! And that is just a great feeling. It wasn't just about losing weight, it was about having the shape I've been after.
I don't know why, but I thought about that last night while in the shower and suddenly I just burst into tears because it's been decades of just not knowing why I could never be happy with my appearance and to feel like finally I can be is amazing.
Now, just watch, tomorrow I'll be struck by terrible dysphoria, haha.
