A list of puns related to "Viewfinder"
Hi there. Im new to dslm world and Im having some kind of infuriating experience with the distance the eye sensor detects my cloth fabric and activates rhe viewfinder. I rest the camera on my belly with the strap around my neck like I always did with dslrs, and it keeps switching between screen (with quick menu) and vf. No one will ever shoot with the distance it activates the vf, its way too far away. Switching the camera on and off is not an option, as Im always changing settings and need to be ready to shoot anytime. I think it whould be a more pleasing experience if the vf was activated only when the sensor detects something really close to the vf.
I always destroy my glasses because of the metal eyepiece for the viewfinder. Is there a good product for this problem?
Hello!
As said on the title I have a bug between the layer that has the dots (ig is the viewfinder) and the glass where i put my eye when shooting.
I dont have a clue how it got there and i dont know how to take it out.
I have a canon 350d, I appreciate any kind of help!
Thank you
Big fan of Nikon for many years - I started in photography with their 1990s black plasticky electronic SLRs - think N90s, F801s, that generation there. Love them.
Having decided I wanted to try a smaller, (semi)mechanical SLR, I then 'betrayed' the brand and got myself an Olympus OM2n. I was floored. Super small, and tiny sharp lenses. A general feel of quality to it. INCREDIBLE viewfinder image. Huge, bright. A pleasure to compose in it. Refined feel to the mechanics (film advancement, shutter, etc).
So now I'm interested in getting a fully mechanic camera by Nikon. I handled a friend's FE. I know it's a legendary camera. But I wasn't impressed at all. As much as I love Nikon, the FE felt.. cheap and unrefined compared to the OM2n. Small viewfinder image. Loud metallic, springy "CLANG" when pressing the shutter. Also bigger than the OM2n. Disappointed.
So based on the above, would I like an FM/FM2? Does it have the smallish viewfinder image of the FE? How about the mechanics? Does it feel smooth in operation? As an alternative, shall I completely forget about small size and weight requirements and go for an F2 with the small, non-metering prism?
People who own(ed) or handled an F2/FE/FM/FM2s and Oly OM cameras, any thoughts/suggestions?
EDIT ###
thank you very much for some great replies so far. I should have added that I'm heavily invested in Nikon glass (AF-D with some Ai-S sprinkled in) and in the Nikon eco-system in general, whereas my OM2n purchase was more of a 'spur of the moment' thing and I only have two small primes for the system, a Zuiko OM 28 f/2.8 and a 50 f/1.8. Like them both but I had never considered ditching my entire Nikon 'affiliation' to fully commit to the OM system..Until now that is..
I photograph in a state with mask mandates and have some shoots where they are required. I have been struggling as every mask and option I have tried fog up my viewfinder after 2 shots. What are your fixes or favorite masks or anti fog sprays for your viewfinder?
I will update this post with information as I receive it. I'm getting very annoyed by this grain in my videocalls. Hopefully we will receive answers.

Hi,
I spoke to Google Pixel support on the phone last week.
They weren't sure if this caused by hardware or software.
To clarify the issue is:
In anything less than amazing lighting, my selfie cam videos are pretty grainy. Photos still come great. The viewfinder is grainy in both but is kept only in video. This also affects videos. The issue is primarily on video, however I have seen the issue occasionally with photos (front+rear) even in great lighting. However, it is primarily front cam video. The issue is in all apps. Google Duo, Skype, Google Camera, etc. Anything that uses the front facing camera.
The first time I contacted Google support, they told me it would be resolved in a software update the next day. This never happened. Second time, I contacted Google support last week on the phone and they aren't sure if it is software or hardware. They offered to replace the camera at a repair shop under warranty, but not sure if it's worth the time, since it can be software.
Since the photos come clear (90 percent of the time), but not the videos, I'm thinking it's a software issue with the viewfinder.
Attached is a photo and a video, both taken in the same place, same time, same conditions. You will see the video is very grainy but the photo is clear.
I see on Google's support forum that this is a pretty common issue.

I love this phone. However, since I video call often, this had been a big issue for me.
Can you please confirm if this is a known issue at Google and if a fix via a firmware update is being worked on?
Please let me know if you need any more details. I have also submitted feedback via the in system function a few times. Thank you!
Regards,

... keep reading on reddit β‘The camera I initially wanted requires an autoknip for a self timer, however they are very hard to come by so I need to look for something else. I mainly want to take portraits and unfortunately shutter release cables are also too short.
I have heard that the Pentax 645N fits both my needs (viewfinder & self timer), but are there any other cameras?

Hey everyone! I'm sad to be listing my Bronica ETR, but sadly it's time for me to part ways with it. It's was my very first medium format camera and it's been a pleasure to shoot with, but it's on to bigger (literally a pentax 67), and better things. It come with the speed-grip, 75mm lens, and a fully functional light meter prism. It's in good shape, but does have some scrapes and general signs of wear. The focusing screen is slightly scratched, but fully functional, I just never got around to replacing it. It takes amazing photos, and if you have any questions or want to know more about shooting with it please shoot me a PM!
Asking 400 USD shipped OBO!
If you can send me valid proof that you are a highschool or university student, I will be willing to sell for 300 USD + Shipping!
Feel free to send me a offer, the worst i can say is no :)

i bought a minolta maxxum 70 on depop and itβs in great condition but when i got the camera the viewfinder shows the image as a small circle surrounded by a black outline similar to a vignette. i bought a compatible lens on ebay and hoped that would remedy it but itβs the same issue. will this affect my photos? and is there a work around or easy fix for this?
Hey everyone, it's your favorite pain in the ass again. Just wondering if it's possible to clean viewfinder glass yourself? I cannot for the life of me find any info about it online. My new A-1's viewfinder is pretty filthy on the inside and I'm worried about getting things in focus properly, so I wanted to make sure I can't do it my self before I take it somewhere.
I have a very nice Nikon F2 but Iβve found that the viewfinder pops up and comes lose when I try to wiggle it out or when it been inside my bag. All the latches seem undamaged. Is this a common or known issue for the F2?
i am actually pretty new on all this stuff, i have a olympus pm2 with the olympus M.Zuiko 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 lenses and iβm trying to figure out which focal length viewfinder better fits these lenses.
I recently bought a Fuji XT-4. I am a dentist and shoot a lot of photos in my clinic. When I am shooting, my manual settings are f-stop 6.3, ISO 160, Shutter speed 160, and auto flash with a 100mm Macro lens. I am also, in this example, using a macro ring flash.
When I take the photos, because of my settings, the viewfinder image is almost black. Obviously, this is because the camera is a mirrorless camera and the viewfinder is showing me whatever the settings are set to. However, my old DSLR didn't have this issue, for obvious reasons. I have tried to turn Natural Live View ON and it kind of helps, but the viewfinder image is still very dark and hard to see my subject.
Does anyone know a workaround? Or do I just need a DSLR? I am trying to have my viewfinder show me a normal image/"live view" image so I can take photos with my settings and be able to actually see the subject in the viewfinder. The difficulty comes from using the ring flash with the appropriate settings but being unable to see my subjects due to the viewfinder projection being almost completely black. Is there a setting that will keep my viewfinder showing normal exposure images? but then still produce the photo according to my settings?
I have the AE prism finder and the waistlevel finder.
Iβm a bit nervous about nailing focus on the AE Prism finder. But I find the waist level finder can be a bit difficult to peer into if Iβm mounting it on a tripod. But otherwise itβs amazing for focusing.
Hey, Weird observation but the viewfinder when taking a picture on WhatsApp shows a different cutout of the picture than when sending the picture.. I can perfectly line up on an edge in the viewfinder and when I take the picture it adds like 10cm to the right.
Is this an issue from my pixel6 or a WhatsApp problem?
