That annoying time of year where your fridge consists only of 8 types of cheese, half a pot of custard, leftover takeaway fried rice, dibuous cooked meats and completely knackered vegetables. Full but completely empty

Last night I baked and ate an entire chicken. Today after hours of simmering the carcass, hand picking out the bones, I turned it into a very hearty pot of vegetable chicken soup

Fun history fact: in Geneva, on this day, we celebrate since 1602 our victory over the French by crushing a chocolate pot filled with marzipan vegetables by saying "thus perished the Republic's enemies". It is called L'Escalade.

LPT: Don't wash your food processor pot after doing peanut butter. Instead use it's remainings and make yourself a nice vegetable cream (like carrots, onion and leeks). The result is tastier and the cleaning process for the pot is easier afterwards.

Using pot liquor (likker) as base for vegetable soup?

Hi friends! I cooked some fantastic collards for Christmas, and used ham hock as a base. I ended up with more liquid than collards, so I strained and froze the extra pot likker, thinking I could use it as a good base broth for something. I'm thinking basic vegetable soup - broth, carrots, onions, corn, peas, green beans and tomatoes. However, I can't find a recipe for veg soup, using this base, that includes the normal ingredients but doesn't include more actual greens. Anybody done/tried this? If I can't/shouldn't use pot likker for this, then what can I use it for (if anything?)
