Purchased Edelweiss seeds off amazon and included instructions say to plant in a pot indoors with sunlight, and then a after a couple weeks of watering to put them in the refrigerator for a couple weeks. Any idea why that is? I live in US zone 5/6.

Tiny kitchen help needed. We have just redone our tiny galley kitchen. I am going for a clean look, but need suggestions for the top of the refrigerator, which measures 27β from the top of the fridge to the ceiling. I would love some plants, or cookbooks, or tea pots. All ideas appreciated.

[SC] Then property management office of the apartment style dorms Iβm living in has thrown out everything in the refrigerators while we have been kicked off campus. This includes pots and tupperware. People have lost stuff from heirlooms to expensive Dutch ovens. Is this legal for them to do?

TIL the Pot-in-pot refrigerator uses a porous outer clay pot (lined with wet sand) containing an inner pot within which food is placed. The evaporation of the outer liquid draws heat from the inner pot, and requires only a flow of relatively dry air and a source of water, but no electricity.

I cleaned out the pot of moldy stew thatβs been haunting me at the back of my refrigerator for 9 months now.
I havenβt been in a good place for a while now and it is such a small thing, but it was so immensely difficult to get myself to do it. But i did it!!!!!

Are leftovers stored in Pyrex in a refrigerator safe to go straight into the instant pot for pot in pot reheating? I know you aren't supposed to go from the freezer straight to the pot...

Cooking homeade pot pie from refrigerator
Hello.
I underestimated the amount of chicken pot pie filling i was making. I've got a double crust pot pie in the oven right now baking, but I've still got half a pot full of filling. I was planning on bringing some over to the neighbors, but its around 8 PM and too late for dinner for them.
I was planning on putting some filling in 16oz ramekins and then give them a couple round sheets of my homemade pie dough for them to heat tomorrow night. What is the best way for them to cook it? Should they microwave the filling/ramekins first and then throw the pie dough on top and bake in the oven? Or could I just let the filling cool completely, fill the ramekins, then out the dough on top and then give to them as is?

Has anyone made a pot-in-pot refrigerator?
I live in a hot, dry area with 20% humidity and temps currently around 95. I have a large terracotta pot with a smaller, double glazed pot on the inside... about two inches of soaked sand in between them. The tops of the pots are at the same level and their drain holes have been caulked. I soaked the sand to where it wouldn't accept any more water and I could see the water coming through the terracotta on the outside. I covered the pots with a wet towel. After about 6 hours there was no change in temperature in the inner pot! 12 hours and still no change! What did I do wrong?

Live in a dry climate? Trade in your refrigerator for two nested clay pots and a tiny bit of soil. Thermodynamics are almost like magic sometimes.

I pressed a block of tofu on Sunday evening and put it in a marinade of spices, olive oil, balsamic and malt vinegar. It's been in the refrigerator since then. I usually cook it in a pot for an hour. Is still okay to eat on Friday night?
