A list of puns related to "Varden"
I have been thinking about the Varden's justification for their war against the empire and was wondering if they had a noble reason to go to war or was it just personal? For me, a noble reason to go to war would be that Galby was a ruthless leader that deserved to be stripped of his rule to prevent further injustice from occurring. A personal reason would be to avenge what he did. Based off this, I think their Varden's reasons were personal. They wanted to avenge those who lost their lives in the Great War and believed they can rule better than Galby. I do not see any indication that he was a ruthless leader viewed in the context of the society. Was he great? Nah. But was he ruthless in that he committed continued war crimes and crimes against his people? I do not see it. This leads me to believe their campaign was personal. Of course, personal reasons to go to war are no less valid than noble ones. But I do think the Varden tended to paint their war as noble and I am not convinced as much?
Admittedly, these are just shower thoughts based off my readings from my poli sci major days 7 years ago. Would love to hear everyone's thoughts!
im talkin, planes that could fly higher and faster than shruikan, tanks that could shrug off hits from a thousands of arrows, battleships that could take on 20 of the empireβs best warships and expect to win every time. But they are vulnerable to magic, and to make things fair, only one magic user is allowed on each vehicle. Also, they would have a limited amount of fuel, ammo, and reserve parts. The Varden canβt sustain a war any longer than 4 months, maybes 5 if they are conservative with their limited resources.
Should we aim to kill her early or wait till the end? With her deathrattle passive, I don't know how to deal with her effectively.
Hi all.
After getting this card and Vannadar as my two legendaries from the expansion, I'm struggling to find use for Varden. Mask of C'Thun is great to duplicate, sure, but there aren't a lot of good other spells. Deep Freeze and Grand Finale add some board presence, but Deep Freeze is quite difficult to play on it's own, and if you've already played Grand Finale, you've already either won or lost. Additionally, there's like, no good Arcane spells to duplicate.
Any advice here?
I still refuse to play a Diablo/Cairne team. This is by far my best comp idea as I've climbed about 1k rating almost undefeated.
Openers:
Varden(Band of Frost) Jaina Cornelius
Bench:
Cookie Alexstraza Brukan
The idea is to keep jaina and varden up as long as possible. Turn 3 is key.
By turn 3, Cornelius is most likely dead. Scenario is usually: Samaru or Krush, which I kill next turn with Alex....or caster group which I summon cookie.
Alex is self explanatory... But cookie!!!! I have to start with jaina but then I summon a fish and frost Nova it freezing their party usually before they can act. I gain +9 frost damage (not including jaina) + fish buff!
Now Varden hits hard AF and cookie can sometimes get a deathblow next turn. Rinse and repeat.
I find brukan to be the awkward part of the comp. Usually I use him for emergency red removal, but I don't know what would be better. Hes better than mutanous which is who I originally started with. I tried experimenting with samaru to combo with cookies quick speed.... But it's inconsistent at best. I'm thinking of Illidan too.
What do y'all think?
Who do you guys usually go after?
suppose you are playing "mirror"
The task is Deal 200 damage with Ice Lance. For Ice Lance to do Damage, the target must already be frozen. Jaina is the only other character that has a freeze ability.
As I don't yet own Jaina, looks like I'm gonna have to try to level and use my Blink Fox to steal freeze abilities off of opponents. Pretty silly that the task requirement just about forces you to own another Merc.
Edit: Update, I got it by isolating a Varden on the Bloodfeather heroic Barrens bounty. Had the right amount of hp and damage to be healable with xyrella, and smallenough damage that I could also keep my board up with healing. Found out something interesting with Blink Fox, will probably make a seperate post to explain.
Also note: the "Cold Snap" (Damage enemies you Freeze for X damage) reward doesn't progress this task.

Task requires dealing 200 damage with Ice Lance, Ice Lance only deals damage if the target is already frozen and frozen thaws at the end of each turn. What's the best way to combo this to complete the task?
Edit: I managed with Verden, Xyrell, and Lich King. On the boss of Barrens 5, Sunwalker Proudhoof. Killed the two extra guys. Waited for the boss to attack, used Taunt/Freeze on Lich King since it freezes until the end of the next turn then used Ice Lance next turn. Used Xyrell to heal Proudhoof so I could keep attacking. Tedious but doable.
When in eldest after the first fight with the painless empire soldiers, Nasuda says the varden should make there own, this is never mentioned again, did she?
This is is for the band of frost equipment.
Anyone ever notice, while using vardens frost nova, how when you kill two enemies it either freezes The remaining enemies once or twice... Which then gives you the band of frostbuff either once or twice depending on how many times each enemy was frozen.
It seems to be random if two enemies are killed at the same time by Nova. I'm not sure what the actual intent is. I would assume that Frost Nova should be designed to give the buff only once however, I like the reward of killing two enemies and getting the buff twice per person frozen π
Very annoying and probably unintended interaction.
Hey Guys, anybody have tips for how to complete Varden Dawngrasp task 8 (Deal 200 damage using ice lance), I donΒ΄t have jaina to freeze a minion and then deal damage with varden, so i am stuck in this task.
PS: I am Brazilian, sorry for my bad english.
When Varden dies and he triggers his deathrattle its not affected by jaina +ice damage even if when I pass the cursor to read the skill it shows its affected. Am I wrong? Is it a bug?
