As part of the ongoing development for the future of the IJAF as outlined in DOJ2037, the primarily goal is now to focus on early-warning, fixed-wing, and EW integration packages with a secondary focus on "airframes of niche value" in the defense of new territories. With this in mind, the ATLA has put forward the following largely derivative designs, based upon our inheritance of USAF information via Air Station Whidbey Island and Boeing. Further, the F-7 Typhon is in practice the F-5 Gyaos with an even greater reduction to payload and interception capability, in exchange for actual reconnaissance capability owing to a new niche relating to the Koma Kulshan region. F-7 Typhon
The F-7 Typhon is designed as a derivative of the F-5 Gyaos/F-4EJ platform, and is inspired by the concepts of an F-4X Reconnaissance Jet. With this in mind, the F-5 Gyaos airframe platform will be evolved to focus solely on speed, altitude, and reconnaissance - acting as a fast and high flying airframe. Reconnaissance will be achieved by a bottom-front mounted High Definition Spy Camera system developed by Kawasaki which will be able to take 100 pictures per millisecond, in extreme high definition zoom. In essence, the F-7 Typhon via a reduction in its payload, will be capable of flying for longer periods of time at high altitude and fast speed. The primary role allowing for it to in practice, operate across the Pacific Ocean, American Continent, and etcetera to physically spot hostile assets and or enemy fleets. Some within the IJAF have considered this to be a bit of a passion project, although the strikes on Ares and the war in the Triumvirate have brought to the forefront a need for actual reconnaissance. Our use of the U-2 Spy Planes was extremely successful but we have an extremely limited legacy quantity, with no real ability to make repairs.
