Hi all, my friend and I host a podcast where we're listening through every single UK number one album of the 90s in order and we've just got to Use Your Illusion II. We try to be funny (and we're also really quite sweary, so be warned) but we're also genuine music fans who want to see if these records sound as good nearly 30 years later. My co-host is a massive GnR fan, one of his favourite bands of all time, while I'm a much more casual listener and had never even checked this album out before. The main episode is on Part Two because it's the one that got to Number 1 in the charts but we also did a bonus episode on Part I because my co-host insisted upon it. Anyway, figured some of you guys on here might enjoy it!

UYI was a wasted opportunity for GNR (in terms of quality). They could have made a good single record, instead they released it separately. What songs should have included as a single disc?

I always thought that releasing these two double albums was ridiculous, unnecessary and overblown.
There was so much crap and just so many songs that some of the good stuff got lost in the morass and what kid can afford to buy two albums?
There are so many weak and just plain awful songs on these records but there are enough great and good songs in there, that would have made one killer album that I think would have helped maintain some of their credibility and fan base had they released it like this.
