Adding to the argumentation that the English spelling system is what causes dyslexic-like symptoms.
There is such a term as "surface" dyslexia used in "dyslexia" research. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surface_dyslexia) Is this tern misguided or misrepresenting the reality?
Masha Bell's research on 7000 English words revealed that about 1/3 of these caused reading difficulties and 1/2, spelling difficulties. (https://englishspellingproblems.wordpress.com/author/mashabell/) However, the situation might be even worst, given that we can easily extrapolate that longer words will have higher chances of having at least one irregularity that causes difficulty in encoding or decoding.
It would seem that the spelling system is the problem not learners. Many learners have no difficulty learning to speak. Who --in their right mind--would blame drivers of cars that have faulty parts (faulty brakes, accelerators, steering wheel alignment,...)? The English spelling system has thousands of these!
Took quite a bit of time to develop and there were some technical problems hosting it in the cloud, however overcame all of these issues and thought I would share this with you guys.
Sorry if its a bit buggy, went through a few beta's before settling on a build of the system and complex algorithm that I was happy to share.
