A list of puns related to "Unarticulated"
Is it mostly used as a reminder or emphasis to the player? Thanks in advance.
If insane/uneducated/misled parents are allowed to perform child abuse/manslaughter/whatever-term-applies by choosing to not vaccinate their kids, other βevilβ parents should be allowed to βmurderβ unborn babies via abortion
Edit: Iβm saying that if people can choose to not vaccinate their children, then other would-be parents should be allowed to abort
[Preface: Posting this on a throwaway because I generally have no desire to have my sanitized reddit experience be soured by random internet people finding this post.]
Much has been said about the phrase "wanting to follow one's own desires" and much more armchair psychoanalyzing done to the users of the phrase. The phrase is, perhaps, one of the worst thought-terminating clichΓ©s that exist due to its ability to make any dialogue come to a grinding halt at needless platitudes about who is more qualified to define or in tune with Allah's will and then leave the party who does not won the space be exiled for heresy.
But I- and no doubt a lot of other people- have been more and more aware of the elephant in the room which no one feels the need to talk about or articulate. It is very close to the sentiment expressed by the phrase, but does not assume an authoritative knowledge of "Allah's authentic will"- how do you know that your a priori are correct?
To elaborate- no human is a perfect Tabula Rasa free from ideology. Whether we want to or are aware of it or not, but we passively or actively receive our beliefs and a priori from our surroundings and circumstances. The state-centered mode of Liberal Individualism is hegemonic in our age, to the point that it could be seen as the ideological equivalent of the 'End of History'. It is the "default" mode of belief for a lot of people, and what people imagine when told that there are "normal, good people" in such-and-such group. And yes, even the so-called opponents of "Liberals", such as the Socialists and Communists, have been inoculated to that worldview.
So how does a religious person who identifies as progressive navigate the conflict of worldviews? Do we accept a verse ruling after investigating its social and political implications, its intent and the spirit of the law, or do we reject it for being unable to conform to what we believe the world "ought" to be, what "justice" should look like? If we choose the latter, can we condemn our predecessors who ruled on behalf of their rulers and ideology in good faith, as we are effectively doing the same to be integrated into the hegemonic order?
"Mental hospitals are the POW camps of our undeclared and unarticulated civil wars." Thomas Szasz
ASMR is a great current example, as are the myriad /r/askreddit threads in which one user expresses the type of stuff we usually put out of mind once it has passed, and is met with an outpouring of people realizing they have had a similar experience, or thrilled to see that it's not just them.
What's gonna happen to the world when a new realm of human experiences are included the communicated ideas that are able to reach unprecedented levels of awareness?
I'm currently studying at Pierce College looking to transfer to CSUN for Fall 2017 and I'm just trying to plan out all my courses for the next several semesters of community college. On assist.org there are a number of classes that CSUN has listed as a transfer requirement for Mechanical Engineering but then there is no course articulated at Pierce. Does that mean I'll just have to take that class at CSUN or do I have to find some community college or online class to satisfy that requirement before transferring in?
The unarticulated classes are: ECE 240 - Electrical Engineering Fundamentals ME 209 - Programming for Mechanical Engineers ME 286 - Mechanical Engineering Design MSE 277 Engineering Materials
I hope this is the right place to post this and thanks for any advice that anyone may have.
According to his wikipedia page, "Taylor argues that it is mistaken to presuppose that our understanding of the world is primarily mediated by representations. It is only against an unarticulated background that representations can make sense to us. On occasion we do follow rules by explicitly representing them to ourselves, but Taylor reminds us that rules do not contain the principles of their own application: application requires that we draw on an unarticulated understanding or "sense of things"βthe background."
What does this mean?
I really like Paige. I am saying this after reading post after post of everyone expressing their distaste for her. I am not trying to win anyone over but just express an opinion. So first of all, I find her super cute and actually like the way she dresses. She has some missed, donβt get me wrong, but mostly I am beyond jealous of how she looks most of the time. I also feel more people are annoyed by how freaking skinny she is and how she can wear anything, which generates some hate. When people call her fake, I donβt really get that either. Granted, she isnβt insane and going nuts on a reality show..but she knows how to navigate the reality world. She has definitely had the least amount of insane moments but doesnβt that make her a bit more stable? Amanda wouldnβt have any dramatic moments if ur werenβt for Kyle. And for the record, I love Amanda. Last unarticulated point, how is she a mean girl? She actually stuck up for Jules quite a bit. She has her comments but everyone did. She seems more loyal than most
Hello all, this is my recent coming out (and maybe egg?) story.
I've always known I was queer in some way, and always had an unarticulated background feeling thatβwhile AMABβmy true gender was unclear to me. Yet, I played the role of cis het guy everywhere in life except for some exploratory hookups back when I was dating.
I never truly interrogated these feelings and in retrospect, I realize it was because I never allowed myself to think that a different outcome than cis/het would be possible. In truth, I believe now that it was a lack of courage to come out that held me back.
That fear held me back from even getting to a place where I could articulate my feelings. And there was safety in that, in a way. If I didn't have the words to describe it, I had a reason not to discuss it with anyone.
And several weeks ago the most banal thing happened: I got an email survey from a company and it asked my gender. I stared at the only two choices: M or F. And the floodgates opened.
I had my first moment of clarity, but then so many other questions and emotions. I was still afraid. What would my fiancΓ©e think? I knew in my heart that she would still accept me but telling her would still require a leap because...what if?
When we did talk about it, she was nothing but supportive and loving and really just the best human. I felt so empowered and uplifted by her. She's since even helped me with fashion advice and we shopped online for dresses for me to try out some varied gender expressions.
It took me about two weeks, but I also just told my brother and my parents. The outpouring of love and support is all I could have ever wanted.
I don't know where this journey is going, but I am glad that I am on it and finally open about it.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π

Heard they've been doing some shady business.
but then I remembered it was ground this morning.
Edit: Thank you guys for the awards, they're much nicer than the cardboard sleeve I've been using and reassures me that my jokes aren't stale
Edit 2: I have already been made aware that Men In Black 3 has told a version of this joke before. If the joke is not new to you, please enjoy any of the single origin puns in the comments

Nothing, he was gladiator.
Or would that be too forward thinking?
Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
Hi for the last time in 2021 Sobernauts! Hope you all are continuting to enjoy a sober and healthy season here.
Year in review edition of Media Monday! What was your media year like?
I have read 48.5 books now. If I finish this one and read one more I'll finish the year with a nice round number and no doubt the largest amount of books read in a single year since I was an undergraduate in the late 90s. Sobriety ramped up my reading back to 40 or so a year in 2018 and then being unemployed for 5 months this year I got a lot more in than usual still.
I watched a few shows this year that I enjoyed. Once I forced myself to get over the ridiculous premise and just go with it, I ended up getting a lot of escapist fun from Schitt's Creek, for one. I also really enjoyed The Great in spite of it having a horrendous amount of CFHRD in it. And I watched Bojack start to finish again. (I'll spare you the pleading with you yet again to watch that, haha.)
The podcasts I got into this year that are new for me are Stuff They Don't Want You to Know, which is loosely based on confirming or debunking conspiracies but dabbles in lots of weird history and weird news type of stuff and The Huberman Lab which is highly relevant to our endeavors here at /r/stopdrinking as it is about hacks for mental self-improvement.
It was mostly a reading year for me though. When in an anxious time, as this past year (18 months really) mostly was for me, I found that what I turned to again and again was the quiet escape of a book. Of all the books I read this year, I was most affected by Somerset Maughm's Of Human Bondage. I read this one way back in January but it has really haunted me.
Of Human Bondage is a bildungsroman style novel based loosely at least upon the author's own life. I enjoy Maughm's other works but this is the only one of of his that I've read and had that eery but magical sensation of seeing your own unarticulated thoughts and emotions regarding being human put into words by another person who lived far away from you in both time and space. I related to so much of it. The central theme is how enslaved we can become to absurd and toxic habits and people, but it abounds with other insights about the human condition as well.
So how about you? Favorites in 2021? Feel free to discuss books, TV, movies, video games, podcasts, or music-- whether related to living an alcohol free life or not. And I'll see you in the new year and we'll talk next week about our
