The flavor has been vastly improved since release, but one thing I've seen come up again and again is a request for limited wars.
Perhaps make an option to limit the war to just between two countries, but say neither can go past limited conscription, full mobilization, etc.

Every time (or most times) when someone advocates for a better system where people are treated more fairly and equally, where their basic needs are met and they are guaranteed a good way of life, similar to the ideals of socialism, they always get shot down by weak points. "The Soviet Union is proof socialism will never work!" "People starved under socialism!" "Venezuela and Cuba are socialist hellholes!" etc, yet they ignore the issues and present/current problems under capitalism.
- For the "People starved under socialism!" point, the worldโs farmers produce enough food to feed 1.5x the global population. Thatโs enough to feed 10 billion (we are at 7.6 billion currently). Despite this excess, hunger still exists. Today, 795 million people are hungry. Another 2 billion are expected to join them by 2050. Our inability to feed the entirety of the worldโs population is mostly due to food waste. Globally, 30โ40% of all food is wasted. In less developed countries, this waste is due to lack of infrastructure and knowledge to keep food fresh. For example, India loses 30โ40% of its produce because retail and wholesalers lack cold storage. In more developed countries, the lower relative cost of food reduces the incentive to waste. And as portion size grows, more and more food gets thrown out and wasted. Our food distribution system is inefficient. But this inefficiency wonโt drive 2 billion more people into hunger by 2050. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

WHAT IS A PALADIN?
Pre-amble. For those not familiar (b/c there might be some people that aren't) a Paladin is a class of character that is typical in fantasy RPGs. We see them in Dungeons & Dragons, World of Warcraft, and countless other RPGs. If you think of a charismatic medieval armour-clad holy knight, serving a cause/king/creator, then that is a typical Paladin character. However, they are not limited to that alone, that is just an example. Another non-knight example might be Captain America of the Avengers.

For the longest time I've been interested in making a thorough analysis of Fates' writing. It is a massive game with three distinct routes, a large cast of characters, and it sold well after a wave of hype following the release of Awakening. Yet in spite of this, it is by and large considered the worst written game in the series, and I want to dive deep and explore why that is the case.
Before I begin, I would like to address a few things and also explain the structure of this series.
"This horse was beaten to death in 2016, buried in 2017, dug up in 2018 to be beaten again, cremated in 2019, exorcized in 2020 and now you're trying to punch its ghost in 2021. Why?"
There are multiple reasons for this. The first is the simplest: I enjoy a good story and I also like talking about them. I also think that by addressing poorly written narratives and characters you get a newfound appreciation for ones that are written more competently.
Fates often gets defended by sweeping generalizations. "It's not that bad, people exaggerate", "people miss the point/the themes", "people can't read", "it's a story for teenagers so it's okay for it to be bad", "Fire Emblem isn't known for its stories anyway", etc. I think these kinds of excuses are improper in any serious discussion, and by making an analysis like this I want to detail why Fates is so often singled out as the worst written game in the franchise and show that it's not some kind of conspiracy or people being upset over unmet expectations.

Zamiraโs eyes fluttered open.
The first thing she became aware of was an aching in her head. Not one so bad that it was debilitating; rather, it was a dull sort of pain that was both consistent and persistent. With great care, she touched her fingers to her forehead, rubbing gently to ease the soreness. As the last dregs of sleep faded, and her vision cleared, she next became aware of her friends surrounding her bedside in a ring of apprehension. One by one, they noticed that she was awake, and their faces lit up like miniature suns.
โHello, everyone.โ she muttered, her voice soft as to not provoke the soreness monsters living in her head. โMy apologies, but there seems to be a blind spot in my memories. What happened? Why do you all look so concerned? I remember Rob teaching me Fiendish, and then...โ
She blinked. โAh.โ Scrolling through her text log painted a grim portrait. Zamiraโs skin prickled with goosebumps when she saw the point at which her HP had dropped below 50, barely stabilizing afterwards via the ministrations of the Desertersโ Healers. Antecedent to those Healing spells were a litany of HP Potions keeping her alive, so many that Rob must have emptied nearly his entire stock in Storage.
And above every message, at the text logโs zenith, was a practical joke.
