I was playing around with Tunisian crochet in the round and decided to make myself a ponytail / bun touque. It turned out more cone shaped than I intended but I'm really happy with the colours and fit.

My American friends call it a beenie, I have always called it a touque and spell it with an "ou" but I see lots of variations on the spelling. here is a CBC article from a few years ago http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/thousands-vote-on-correct-spelling-of-canadian-knit-cap-1.2457737 just wondering what most people here use.
