A list of puns related to "Tomb Raider"
Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy is currently free to download on the Epic Games Store.
The game is free of charge for 1 week until 8am PT / 11am ET / 4pm GMT on Friday, January 6 and it's the last game of the 15 day giveaway by Epic.
I finally got around to this one. I had been away from gaming for the past couple of months, and wanted to get back into it, to immerse myself into gaming. again.
I got my XboxOne back in 2015, got Tomb Raider via Games with Gold, but never got around to it. I knew it was good, and today I downloaded it and became Lara Croft instantly. The narrative and the storytelling is so great. The way the story progresses piece by piece. The gameplay is really good as well. I won't spoil anything but you just have to see it for yourself.
I spent 3 hours into it earlier in the day, and can't wait to get back to it after work. It's so good. I want more of it. If you haven't tried it yet, or are looking for the next game. Try this!
Hey!
In my ongoing insane quest to work on my near infinite backlog, are the original Tomb Raider 1-4 games worth the time? I will eventually play every main title in the series I missed - I've played Legend (enjoyed it as a kid) , 2013 (quite good, very AAA, but I liked the gritty nature) and Rise (extremely bland, repetetive and underwhelming)
I'm unironically looking forward to the janky nature of angel of darkness lmao - I'm just a little worried about the really old ones not holding up and feeling too tedious
I have very little nostalgia for these, I remember a few scenes from the psx versions, but I must've been.. 6 or 7, so I barely "played" them at all
I don't mind clunky controls or difficulty, I know these are known to be harshly unfair at times - I'm mostly worried about tedious elements, if I feel like a game doesn't respect my time or gets stretched out way too long
What's your experience, play them all, play all of them for a little bit? Anniversary instead of 1 and play 2,3,4? Or just skip some and maybe watch a long form review on them instead to get the overall feel?
Talking about the steam versions, I'm aware patches will be needed to restore the music and whatnot
Cheers!
New Year chaos and covid thoroughly distracted me from going on to epic, even after it was mentioned to me and now I am filled with longing for these games and rage that I passed on the chance to get them all for free!
Any recommendations for things which will fill this hole?
Looking for good βadventureβ stuff that wonβt leave him with nightmares or have too much adult themes. Thoughts and suggestions? Havenβt seen it yet, but βthe adventures of tintinβ looks perfect if you know others like this!
I've got a few assorted games from the Tomb Raider franchise to give away, to enter just comment any number of games (spelled however you want) and I will pick winners tomorrow. Good luck!

It has been about 4 years since I turned on my Xbox. But recently tried Stadia since it now works natively on my LG TV.
I am having a hard decision on what game to spend my money on. The last couple few games I played, 4-5 years ago, were Fallout Las Vegas, COD black ops (i think this one), BIOShock, GTA5 (or 4, can't remember)
Anyways I think I have it down to rdd2, Tomb Raider (not sure which one) and Cyberpunk. I heard rdd2 was amazing so probably leaning towards that but Cyberpunk looks interesting as well. Any of those besides Cyberpunk do 4K?
So what are you thoughts on the game I should buy? Other suggestions welcome.
**EDIT - Thanks for all the responses! Just started RDR2 last night and so far looking great.
It's been a long time since I finished Tomb Raider (2013) but I recently played Rise of the Tomb Raider and part of Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and it's been a frustrating experience all the way through.
My main memory of Tomb Raider is of cutscenes wherein Lara repeatedly survives trauma which would have easily been fatal in combat. Like I said it's been a while so I'll move on. I can only add that the movie adaptation was drastically worse than the game, so it can't have been too terrible overall.
In Rise, the fatal traumas happen less often apparently because hunky Jacob (>!he's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy!<) always shows up just in time to save poor Lara from whatever deadly situation she's got herself into now. The main problem with this game is the terrible writing, and the lack of any likeable or interesting characters. Lara is obsessive, destructive and self-destructive with an enormously overblown sense of her own importance. Immersion is further broken by Lara's OP abilities in the murder department. X-Ray vision, near instant regeneration and a glowing painted trail leading the way through every puzzle? It feels like the game was intended for mainly stealth/puzzle gameplay, but when murdering everyone is just so much easier, why waste time and XP on sneaking past? The puzzles are also poorly integrated into the level design. It doesn't really feel like exploring decaying ruins when they were apparently designed specifically to be traversed 1,000 years later by an unusually athletic woman armed with a grappling hook. There is also the problem of the DLC. I had paid for the Definitive Edition, which apparently means that Lara starts the game with all the top tier paid gear already unlocked. Why would anyone want that? Have it be an in-game pickup at a gameplay and plot-compatible point. Or better yet, stop making this kind of bullshit DLC altogether. The best part of this game was actually DLC though, I must admit. The Baba Yaga side quest was actually fun, interesting and challenging, shame the rest of the game wasn't.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider is a disaster. From the opening cutscene, the glitches start. There is no voice audio or subtitles, and the controller is stuck on maximum vibrate. After an hour wasted searching Reddit and trying out fixes, we are able to get through the opening cutscene. And it seems to be going well. The graphics are phenomenal, I'm on a higher difficulty setting this time and in th
... keep reading on reddit β‘Took me even longer to finish the first one. 4-5 years I think.
I started Shadow before but I'm going to restart it now. Only an hour in or so so no biggy. But as you may gather, I never restart games after a long time. I just pick away at them slowly until they are done, or I just never finish them.
What have you finished over the holiday break?
I'm aware they added cross play between Steam and Epic and updated the 3 latest titles, but I want to know if in doing so I'm sharing any sort of personal information with Epic by simply playing the game, like creating an Epic account automatically like Fall Guys have been doing.
The reason why I'm asking is because after the update, Rise of the Tomb Raider prompted me with a new user policy at the start and when I went to play with a friend, who's also on Steam, a pop-up appeared really fast when connecting but I clearly saw "Epic" on it, just couldn't read the rest. I love these games to death, but I don't want an Epic account, especially one that I didn't even agree to create for playing the games, whether single or multiplayer.
