A list of puns related to "Tideway"
[ADVICE/SUPPORT NEEDED ASAP PLEASE]
Hello everyone,
I am a recent MEng Civil Engineering graduate who is conflicted with which career path to take.
I have received the offer to have an interview for 2 separate roles for the same company (Ferrovial Construction), and I must pick one. The first role is as a Graduate Civil Engineer working at Heathrow airport, the other is a Graduate Planner at The Thames Tideway. Both are 3-year graduate programmes that will aid in chartership progression.
Both opportunities really appeal to me. The Thames Tideway is the largest UK water project to ever take place and something that I have always wanted to be part of and I genuinely believe it would be a significant project to have worked under for my CV and experience, BUT, Thames Tideway is 1hr40mins and Heathrow is only 30 mins from where I live. Additionally, as a Civil Engineering Graduate, the Heathrow Graduate Civil Engineer role suits me more compared to the Thames Tideway Graduate Planner role.
My main query relates to the future prospects of a Graduate Planner, where would I see myself in 5 years, what title would I be working under once I have completed the βGraduateβ Planner 3 year course, will a Graduate Planner role be suitable for a civil engineer graduate (as the role is also open to project management graduates), what is the wage differences, are such Planning roles hard to obtain in engineering; as I know civil engineering roles will be much more easily obtainable living in London?
Any advice on these queries or advice on the decision I should make would be very appreciated.*
Thank you.
*(ADDITIONAL INFO FOR REFERENCE) I have listed the key accountabilities for each role below, if it helps provide more of an understanding of the role (they both are very similar regardless):
Key Accountabilities βGraduate Planner role
Β· Assist in project management and project planning by producing programme controls, project reviews, and cost and risk analysis.
Β· Create tender programs compliant with tender sums, project design and methodology
Β· Produce, manage and update the construction programme and its communication to internal and external customers and major stakeholders
Β· Analysis how commercial events and activities impact the programmes baseline

... keep reading on reddit β‘Speaking with the smouldering wreckage of a university fresher VIII in the background, Chair of British Rowing Mark Davies revealed that plans are afoot to turn the Tideway into the worldβs largest Pinball machine.
At a press conference today, Davies commented βsince rowing at this time of year is basically a big game of dodgems anyway, itβs high time we support the future of the sport and install several hundred rubber bumpers, flippers, and spinners along this historic waterway.β
Sources close to British Rowing indicate that the plan comes with changes to the Tideway Code. Like pinballs, boats are now to be launched into the river from spring-loaded cannons, where they will earn points for smashing into other crews, bridges, wildfowl, and any other waterborne obstacles in their paths. Our source called the move βa way to reward everyone for the way theyβre all already behaving.β One amendment, which called for blindfolding coxes to increase carnage, was scrapped after tests showed that it made no noticeable difference to steering quality from the status quo.
In other novicing-related news, the coaching team at St Paulβs School yesterday vowed βnot to stop until weβve washed down every crew on the Tideway.β Addressing journalists from the newly-relocated SPS boathouse in Mount Doom, assistant J14 coach Wavey-Dave Colin βDoggystyleβ Costello pledged that his reign of terror will continue until he has personally washed down and impeded every boat on the river.
"We're a high-performance programme and that extends to our coaches too - washing down 'most' boats simply isn't good enough. We therefore make a solemn vow to you today: we will not rest until we've ruined the sessions of each and every one of you."

I run a number of production servers and would like to aggregate profiling/benchmarking data, function call graphs, etc. It seems the top PHP offerings are Blackfire and Tideways, and am wondering if I should choose one over the other for any reason. They both support unlimited machines, which I haven't been able to find in non-PHP specific offerings, such as New Relic.
It would be nice to have a service that also saves front-end javascript error stack traces, but I haven't been able to find one that A) provides as much detail on the PHP side of things, and B) doesn't cost a fortune.
Due to my job etc I don't really have time to row in a squad properly, and I've been not rowing the last few months. I'm going totally insane and miss it like mad.
I'm living in Putney, and I've decided that the solution is to race a single this summer. I can get all the land training done at my gym near work on the other side of London, and then do weekend and some morning sessions on the water as the summer comes back.
I've sculled at a decent level for 5 years or so, and sweep for 9, I'm pretty used to the tideway also.
Which club has a good fleet of singles for a mid- to heavyweight man, and isn't Β£500 a year? Also preferably a club that goes to all the big regattas, so I can actually enter races?
I'm more than happy to go sculling in groups or jump in a crew boat with anyone in a similar situation to me, but I won't be able to commit to a full training plan.
Any suggestions?
