Iβve worked as a telephone service rep for 5+ years, most of it from home. Should I try seeking a better paying job in the same area or try building skills to transfer out?
So basically Iβve been working at an answering service for over five years, most of it from home. Iβm unsatisfied with my pay and current shift - 14.42 from starting at 10$, and working noon shifts into late night / midnight. After a year of asking they still canβt move me to morning shift because they canβt hire enough people to stay on our shift and I feel like I should be paid more for how long Iβve worked there. I have also trained people as new agents as well.
Questions are: should I continue my job search in remote customer service, is a higher wage possible in such a position (just from what Iβm seeing itβs iffy but you might have better sources then I do), is it possible to get a regular schedule (important for mental health and aligning my time with the rest of my household), or should I seek another field? Iβm also unsure which field my skills would translate best to, so if anyone has any advice I would deeply appreciate it.
