Hi everyone. I’m looking for a specific episode of the Joey Bishop show, specifically the episode that features the Andrews Sisters. It’s episode 31 of season 3, first aired on May 30th, 1964. It was on YouTube until recently but has been taken down, possibly due to copyrighting, which I understand. Annoyingly, I’m in the UK and am struggling to find where I could purchase the episode or even the series, or pay to watch it online (not asking for anything like a torrent site, just to make that clear). If anyone here has any ideas, I’d really appreciate hearing them. Thank you!
I’ve been a fan of Friends for 5 years but I never really wanted to watch ‘Joey’ because I only heard bad things about it… however, the more I re-watched Friends, the more I hated how Joey’s character ended in season 10… I guess I needed some closure for his character.. so I watched the Joey show and honestly it’s not that bad.. or well, I was expecting something worse based on what I’ve heard about it..
Sure I can definitely see why it didn’t do well back in the 00’s.. it can’t be compared to Friends obviously.. Friends is much funnier and has more relatable characters.. but I ended up liking the characters on Joey too.
It took me a while to start liking Gina - Joey’s sister, she was a bit annoying but I learned to like her.. I also really liked Alex - the girl Joey ends up with. The characters definitely weren’t as strong as the Friends characters but they weren’t completely horrible either.
If any of you watched the beginning but didn’t care to watch the rest, I think the show got a little better with time so that’s something I guess..
However, even though I did kind of like the show, I’m still having a hard time picturing this as what happens to Joey after ‘Friends’. Like it feels more like a parallel universe as in ‘where Joey would be if Friends didn’t happen’ or maybe like a show that’s based on Joey’s character but unrelated to Friends. It’s a bit sad to see him all moved on from his Friends, almost never mentioning them and stuff but it’s also nice to see that he does actually end up with someone after all.
Serious discussion here. So we are all fans of the show Friends. But why not the TV spin off JOEY?

He wrote a lot of the gags they used on stage at The Sands, yet he gets less credit than Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and even Peter Lawford. If it weren't for Joey Bishop, they wouldn't have had some of their best moments, yet many casual fans don't even know who he is. I won't say he was the most talented, because clearly he only had one "thing" which was humor, whereas Frank, Dean and Sammy had singing and dancing in their repertoire. But he had that subtle, cool, sarcastic sense of humor and he was one of the few people that Sinatra allowed to make jokes at his expense. He never seems to get the respect he deserves when people tall about the Rat Pack and it always annoys me.
