A list of puns related to "Tanis"
I mean, at this point, what is even going on?? I get the central gist of the whole series, but with Season 5? He spends the first half of the season saying, “Nope! I’m done! I’m finished with this!”, and then suddenly the second half, he’s like “Alright! Let’s go rescue some lady, and find another Tanis”, even though there are 3 other ones he hasn’t explored yet!
I was willing to give this show the benefit of the doubt, I really really was…and I’ve travelled through all 5 seasons truly interested, but when he ends this latest season (no real spoilers here, just stupidity) with passing out 3 separate times and waking up in 3 separate unknown locations in a run time of 6 minutes?? Come the fuck on! This has just become beyond stupid and even a 2nd grade creative writing project wouldn’t do something like this!
Seriously, what’s the pitch meeting for this show like?? “Don’t worry about anything, if you run into writer’s block, just magically create a door that wasn’t there before! Don’t know what to do with the character arcs? Just have them pass out and wake up somewhere else…and do it as many times as you want to! It’s fine!” Ooooooooo, mystery!!
And I just learned that this season was blocked behind a pay wall until they finally released it to the free feeds MONTHS later?? I truly hope that’s not true, but if it is, it’s pathetic…
I’ve listened to all that PRA had released and have really enjoyed all the podcasts…I even bought the Rabbits novel and loved it! But this?? It’s time to end it, man…have some respect for your listeners and take some control of your narrative and bow out gracefully…

Like everyone on this subreddit, I have my qualms with this show but there's a reason we all listen and newcomers continuously ask for recommendations for similar shows and stories...
This shit hooks us.
"The Girl In The High Tower" is the perfect audio drama. Between the fictional story of discovering who Rory Anderson is and the true story of the Cecil Hotel and Elisa Lam, the listener has a hard time differentiating between reality and fiction. Nic and MK do an amazing job weaving this story and building a new world and drawing us in to the world of TANIS.
Again, I know we all have too much to say about dragging a story on too long within the PNWS universe, but go back and listen to this one. It's pure. It's perfect. It is what makes us all reach out for other audio dramas and scratch that itch.
Let me know what you guys think. From someone who still has hope in discovering TANIS.

I train in BJJ and I like to do a version of Tani Otoshi from a clinch position when I'm directly behind my opponent (sometims called a valley drop). Is doing Tani Otoshi from this position as dangerous as doing it from the more conventional position?
So I'm not sure if I'm missing something or it will be covered later in season 5. But is there like a time skip between season 4 and 5? Seems like episode 4 ends with Nic seeing his clone or whatever and then season 5 just starts with him being done with it after being in Russia with no explanation of how he got there. I feel like I must have missed something because he didn't assemble the map or anything. The tanis clone seemed like a pre climax twist, but literally nothing happens after that?
If it's yet to be covered or I missed an episode or something please let me know. It's driving me nuts because I'm constantly thinking I need to go back and listen to whatever I missed.
Thanks.
Spending a lot of time in the car this fall with my late-60s mother. We both loved how TANIS mixed mythology and mystique with high tech sleuthing and great character rapport. Did a great job of keeping me alert.
Unfortunately, the there were a few moments that were far too graphic and grisly for my poor mama.
Any other well researched, super engaging podcasts with a bit less violence she and I could both enjoy?
The song Drag Me into the Woods and it's accompanying video are EXACTLY what I want. It scratches a very specific itch, and I'm looking for other music that does the same.
I love atmospheric horror, especially horror that centers around a dark forest aesthetic, dark witchcraft, and a slow descent into madness. I'm a big Weird fiction fan, both old and new.
I solo backpack, and I love the disquiet and primal uneasiness you feel standing alone at night in a deep pine forest. Because you really don't know what's out there. To me, Death Spells captures that really well.
I want something, haunting, unsettling, and shrouded in darkness. It doesn't have to be a specific genre (I listen to them all). It could be a soft haunting indie thing or a crushing atmospheric death metal thing. But it needs to evoke that feeling that you are at the mercy of something much darker, older, and more powerful than you.
