A list of puns related to "Takoradi"
Hello, /r/ghana.
It turns out that I might, quite unexpectedly, be placed in Takoradi this summer for a month for work. I'd really rather not give out any more details--I take internet privacy seriously.
Here is my question--are loose dogs common in Ghana?
I am very afraid of dogs, and some other places I've been to in Africa (and Asia as well) were filled with packs of loose dogs. It is a terrifying experience for me. Is this common in Ghana? I have never been to West Africa before so I have no idea what to expect.
Thank you.
Time to get some chicken.
With Ivory Coast and Ghana undertaking projects to further integrate and stimulate the two economies, Ghana proposes a new project to heighten this goal: a pipeline between the two nations.
One of Ghana's largest exports is crude petroleum, and conversely one of Ivory Coast's largest exports is refined petroleum. Though Ghana has constructed more oil refineries over the years, it is clear Ivory Coast has more at its disposal, and it would be beneficial to Ghana to export its crude oil to a friendly neighbor state rather than someone else to refine and profit off of. The pipeline would also assist
Ghana's Ministry of Energy and Ghana National Petroleum Corporation has announced plans to construct a $685 million pipeline to the oil-producing town of Sekondi-Takoradi to the populous city of Abidjan - which has a large oil refinery - over the course of one year.
It is hoped this will increase exports for both nations, and increase trade relations.
With Ivory Coast's recent free trade agreement with Ghana, Ghana is now interested in further integrating the economies of the two nations. Its first method of doing so is by connecting close and crucial port cities through railways.
The Ghana Ministry of Transport has suggested the construction of the Takoradi-Abidijan railway, which as the name implies, would involve constructing a 320km dual track standard gauge railway from Sekondi-Takoradi to Abidijan.
The Ghana Railway Development Authority hopes the Ivory Coast will share interest in the project, or will at least allow Ghana to purchase land for constructing the railway.
The project is expected to take two years, and cost the Ghanaian government $780 million should the Ivorian government wish to not partake in the project.
I am in Ghana and have read about Monkey Hill Reserve in Takoradi #Ghana. Can anyone tell me if it's still there? We went for a drive around but it all seems closed up and deserted- and not a monkey in sight.
