A list of puns related to "Super 16mm"
Hey guys, im wondering if anyone knows a good place where i can buy super8 or 16mm cameras. Preferably in Seoul. Maybe you guys can help me out?
I am taking an introductory university class on cinema. Are there any identifiable features or characteristics of films shot in different gauges? That is, how do I tell what gauge was used in a film without looking it up on imdb or something.
Not strictly photography, but I figure I can post it here. If this isnβt the right place, tell me where I should post this.
I found a reel of 16mm film my grandparents shot in the 1970s a while ago, and thought it was interesting, but I hadnβt really gotten into film at the time. But now, remembering that made me want to start shooting home movies on film. I like the idea of maybe getting into it when I am able to afford it (not anytime soon), but I want to do more research.
I have found that there are 2 main types of movie film for making movies without breaking the bank, super-8 and 16mm, each with their own pros and cons. This is probably obvious, but I am not an expert on any of this.
Super-8 is easy to get cameras for, you can find them almost anywhere, for almost nothing. They are absurdly easy to use, just put the cartridge in the camera, and shoot. But therein lies a disadvantage: the film is not able to me bought in bulk like 35mm or even 16mm, as it is always sold in the cartridge. No one sells big rolls of super-8 film, and no one sells reloadable cartridges anyway. This makes the film very expensive. It almost seems like a βgive you the razorβ type thing. Looking at prices, it seems like it is barely cheaper than 16mm film, and much lower quality.
Meanwhile, 16mm cameras are pretty expensive for a camera I would just use every once and a while to film something important, but there is also much more you can do with 16mm, as most motion picture labs nowadays still support 16mm printing, so I could shoot negative film, then send it to get printed at a lab. There are also ways to develop 16mm at home, that may be available for super-8, but Iβm not sure. I also saw a product that gave me an idea for a way I could use my Patterson 5-reel tank to dev motion picture film.
One thing is for sure, movies on film are not as cheap as photography. Any suggestions on whether or not to continue, how to continue, what camera I could use if I go the 16mm route, or anything else would be great.
As I understand it, modern Kodak 16mm film stocks are all Super 16, as they only have one side of perforations.
Does this mean for cameras that have not been converted for Super 16? Is that extra space not captured through the film gate, and thus wasted?
Which cameras are readily able to shoot S16? Would it be most cameras produced after 1969?
Cheers
New to this and Iβm trying to find a super 16mm camera thatβs under $700. Any recommendations?
Hey guys, do you trust any people online or in the Los Angeles area that i can buy a good working super 16 camera for the $150 mark or a little more. Thank you.
So I've been trying for some hours now to patch these two camera apps and I can't find any solutions. Couldn't find any modded apk for them so I've tried for myself. NOMO uses a subscription fee for the pro version and even if I patch it I need to use my phone number but it gives me a network error and Super 16 won't allow me to use the app after patching before it says that the app detected piracy app in my phone and I have to remove it in order to use their app.. Any thoughts?
