Spring flowering plants confused

Has anyone else noticed that their normally spring flowering plants seem to think it is March-April? I have peonies trying to come up, salvia blooming, a redbud with blooms, my neighbor has irises flowering and another has a crabapples flowering. I am mostly worried about my peonies, so I dumped extra mulch on them. Are you seeing anything unusual?

What is you favorite spring flower? It could be annual, perennial, flowering tree or shrub.

I was taking a coffee break, looking out into our back yard. I wfh. We have a Rose of Sharon, which is beautiful when in bloom in midsummer, in a corner with Irises beneath. They are in bud with some blooming. I grabbed my clippers and snipped a dozen stems and leaves. I now have a beautiful arrangement on my desk to look at. I love most flowers but Irises are my favorite.

if you sow the seeds of spring flowering plants too late (e.g. in spring), can they still flower later on in summer ? same question applies for planting bulbs ?

for example i am growing some aquilegia, bellis pomponette, alliums, freesia and sweet peas - these are often considered spring flowering - but theyre still currently at their seedling / young adult plant stage of growth, even though we're in may at the moment.
