A list of puns related to "Slackline"
I've got enough room to put up a slackline in the backyard but no trees of course. I also have some massive spare lumber laying around. Like a 16 foot header, it's probably like 6 inches x 12 inches. Anyway, assuming it's strong enough to hold a line, how far into the ground should I bury it?
I was thinking 3 feet underground with 3 feet above. I don't do tricks, but do like to do some jumps/bounces and my wife and I like to both balance on the line and play catch.
Ideas?
Edit: looking for gear recommendations. (Or thoughts on how to do this/if itβs feasible).
Hello! Itβs been a long time since I slacklined, but I recently saw a play set/swing set made out of a slack line. I love this idea but Iβm finding as I look in to it there are a lot of options and Iβm a little lost.
Ideally I would love something versatile that I can use to put swings on both for adults and kids (heaviest adult in our house is roughly 250#) and also for all of us to use as a slack line at some point. Any suggestions? I know part of the issue is the stress on the trees at that weight, but most of our trees are old live oaks that have a minimum 18β diameter. (And yes I know we need tree protection)
Tia!!
Edit: Thanks everyone for helping me avoid doing something stupid! The kids will just have to wait for spring.
This Christmas, we are getting our kids a slackline obstacle course. As it is winter in the Pacific northwest, I had the brilliant idea of setting it inside using two eye bolts as wall anchors... but now I'm getting a bad feeling about it.
Details: the room is 25' long with a window on one side and a sliding glass door on the other. The plan is to screw two heavy 4" long eye bolts into the window/door headers near the studs. Two heavy locking carabineers will then be used to connect the slackline to the eye bolts. The expected weight is about 150 lbs, including the slackline obstacle course and two skinny boys, but does not account for the slackline tension.
Questions: Are 4" eye bolt screws sufficient anchors or are they likely to pull out? Is it likely the wall can hold the lateral weight? Is this a bad idea? Any advice from riggers is appreciated. Thanks.
Looking to get into slacklining and primarily interested in tricklining, which of these two kits would be better? Do these have everything I would need or is there more that I would need to purchase?
If anyone is interested in learning how to slackline there will be an unofficial slackline club meeting this upcoming weekend on Saturday! We meet behind Santa Cruz Hall on the way to Campus Point around 3 pm. All experience levels are welcome! Feel free to follow ucsbslacklineclub on Instagram and fill out the survey in the bio to be added to the mailing list.
Hey guys, close to my house, there is a small slackline where I have been training for about a year now. (its about 4 m 0.7 m high. I think im now used to the most basics, now i am planning to buy me one myself. My budget is 100-300β¬ (112-338$). Im not sure yet if i wonna go into the direction of trick or longlining but at them moment probably longlining. What length is good to start 25-50 meters? what other equipement do i need. Thx in advance.
Any slackliners in town who want to meet up? I mostly set park lines but am looking to expand to water
In particular dyneemite. I want some way of differentiating the two sides to avoid twists. I know some chemicals can be bad for webbing. Is a few dots of sharpie bad? Or some other type of pen?
If so what's a good way of marking your webbing?

... keep reading on reddit β‘Is there some kind of community or group for slackliners or highliners in Oslo? I especially want to meet people with highline experience who do it often so I can have a chance to join them and get to try it.
I have been slacklining for couple sessions now and decided to stick to it long-term, my aim is eventually to highline.
I live in London, UK. Which slackline do you recommend so I don't have to keep buying new equipment? I don't mind if I have to learn a harder set-up which proves to be useful down the line (learning about knots etc.) Is it true to practice on a nylon instead of polyster? I presume I should stick to 1" webbing.
What is the goals I should create for myself so I know I can move up to highlining eventually?
Do u think Spider slacklines its a good brand? I just bought two tree protections but im not really happy about it. They are not sewn and cut very well in my opinion. I know that its just about tree protections but I spent a little too much and they are not as I expected. Does anyone use this brand?
Β‘Hola, amigos!
Iβm an avid slackliner in town for a couple days. Anyone know of places where people set up? Would love to walk a park line or two while here!
