Sinead O'Connor's 17-year-old son, Shane O'Connor, died after he went missing earlier in the week, the Irish singer announced on Twitter Friday.
"My beautiful son, Neviβim Nesta Ali Shane OβConnor, the very light of my life, decided to end his earthly struggle today and is now with God," she tweeted. "May he rest in peace and may no one follow his example. My baby. I love you so much. Please be at peace."
The death was confirmed by O'Connor's management company.
Protesting sexual abuse of children by the Catholic Church seems commendable to me. So why was she canceled over such an important issue that needed attention?

It's been like five years since O'Connor "reverted." I just don't get it. I don't get the reverts from Western nations, especially the women.
I'm an ex-Christian atheist myself, but most of the toxic elements of Christianity are even MORE toxic in Islam: the Qur'an literally instructs husbands to beat their wives ... prepubescent girls can be married off ... gays are to be executed ... women can be forbidden to leave the house without male escorts ... fornication and adultery require corporal discipline and Shari'a laws can be interpreted to put female rape victims at risk for such consequences ... hundreds of descriptive verses require violent acts against nonbelievers ... and apostasy is punishable by death.
None of these are the case in modern Christianity, and most weren't even the case in the worst history of the Church.
Moreover, it only takes one light reading of the Qur'an to know these things. It's not like they are secrets hidden away, only to be revealed a step at a time.
And without letting the Roman Catholic church off the hook for any of their crimes against humanity, I still need to point out that Ms O'Connor did not have to go into hiding to protect her life after ripping up a picture of the Pope, as would have happened had the picture been of Mohammad.

Edit: Its been 2 hours since I posted. So, here is what I remember... Sinead died in my reality from cancer in her late 40s to early 50s. When I heard about her son passing I even thought to myself "well atleast they will be together now again". A strange thought to have if she is in fact, alive.
