I recently observed the hiring practices of a short line railroad in my area. Apparently, they don’t hire anyone who uses tobacco products. And I quote β€œwe view nicotine as an illicit substance” how is this possible? Clearly it can’t be that way for all railroads. Absolute disgrace.

Why can't we use the current railroad system in UB for an east-west metro line?

With some clever planning, using the current railroad in UB for east-west metro line seems like a no brainer move. Why does no one talk about it? Could serve as a proof of concept and other lines can be extended from it. Am I missing something that makes it non viable?
