A list of puns related to "Shadowlands"
It makes no sense.
1 time a expac, fine (although would rather just pay gold for the effin thing), although hate it, it's not to bad
But twice, twice, in a single xpac, F*** that man
I already earned flying in Shadowlands and have to earn it again for some effin reason
Blizzard isn't listening to the playerbase
They did this after the backlash
They know that earning flying is a major problem in WoW
But here they are making us do it all over again.
It's like they are trying to p*** us off
There are so many things completely out of balance, broken or just flat out removed. You can get away with it when its old content, but not when you try to use it as feature content.
Firstly characters were squished to levels that locks them out of their content.
e.g. try to enter mage tower on an old level 45 (requires level 50), same issue in other expansions with raids.
Consumable scaling is insanely overpowered.
e.g. A Shadowlands flask typically gives less main stat than that of a chestplate. When scaled its double the relative stats.
Compounding this there no parity between old expansions gems, enchants and consumables when scaled.
e.g. A scaled BFA flask gives main stat (+31). Nearly triple the relative power of a chestplate (+11).
It's clear there was no forethought in any of this, and it's only now that we're forced to interact with it all for the Mage Tower that we get to experience how bad it is. They could have done so much more with the Shadowlands squish, to the point where old content could have even been made worth replaying. Instead we get legacy tags and a complete mess of arbitrary stats.
I like that they tried to make mage tower challenging, but you cannot balance it when you have gems, enchants and consumables giving over 40% power swings.
TL;DR: Scaling is broken and the squish was a wasted opportunity
Every 2 years (roughly) a new addon is published. One year from release, the reveal trailer is published. Want some data:
01.11.2019: Shadowlands reveal
03.11.2017: BfA reveal
06.08.2015: Legion reveal
09.11.2013: WoD reveal
20.10.2011: Pandaria reveal
That's for the last decade. So if Blizzard keeps the 2 year circle, where are the news?
PS: Got a typo in the title... More than 2 years ago. Sorry! Maybe fix this if possible?
So, after seeing a post a few weeks about how WoD was good, I was inspired to ask- what will be the things that people remember fondly about Shadowlands? The βOh man, this was so greatβ sort of thing.
My guess- the level squish and leveling enhancements to streamline how people get into the game.
Possible runner-up: Anduin storyline, but that assumes they stick the landing and his character arc goes somewhere good.
Also- please donβt comment βnothing.β If some dude can try and say that the content releases in WoD were good, clearly the human mind can add a rose-tinted filter to anything.
Hey guys! Previously i've asked about guardians team, and you guys said they are noz worth it anymore. So i would really like to invest in a team that i like, not a team that almosr everyone uses. So my question is are the Shadowland team worth investing in? Thank you for your answers.
So, we are supposedly back to Azeroth, does this mean the portal to the afterlife is going to be kept open and I can visit my deceased grandfather chillin' in Bastion whenever I want to, so that when I'm dead he can joke with me: "oh nephew, long time no see!" or are you hoping that something more defining will happen?
From the opening cinematic.....was this ever explained?
That's it.
Favorite character, done wrong by Bliz in BC, came back in SL for some justice to his warcraft 3 version, right? right?
Nope. Insufferable brat during the campaign, 9.1 came, he meets Vash, just to be mocked for a couple of throw away lines. Seems like he's nowhere to be found on 9.2, thank god we got our good bud Pelegos with us.
Dude had shit to do with Kel'thuzad fight/demise. Jaina is right there in fucking Korthia, no conversation at all. Bolvar lich king? Anduin being a mini-Arthas, even Arthas himself locked in kingsmourne? fuck all that.
Writers should be all fired, no news there. Just wanted to vent.
Ps. You guys dont like Nathanos? Okay, lets pretend he never even existed, good job boys.
I think Talanji would had made a great addition to the Shadowlands expansion, as she and Jaina has the same relationship as Tyrande and Sylvannas.
More over, her soul was binded with Bwomsamdi, the Loa of Death. She could have had an interesting conversation with Voljin and the Winter Queen. In fact, the Winter Queen might grew fond of her.
Shadowlands has a lot of stuff people will be upset about but for the most part I think the dungeons are mostly well received. I think 7/8 of the dungeons are really well designed (SoA being the one that I think feels out of place and not fun to play basically anywhere in the entire dungeon).
But it seems that this expansion I think that vision has been a bit more of a prominent issue. It was mentioned a bit at the start of the expansion but I haven't seen it talked about a lot here. I'm specifically talking about camera angles and certain spells being weirdly hard to deal with.

This screenshot contains only mobs that are linked to the death speaker. Putting a faint purple frontal with mobs that throw down purple of the same color in a purple dungeon over purple floors. The screenshot above has it difficult to see with a 4pull, a common pull with these guys includes 6 mobs + a tormentor which can make it even harder to see.
Mists
This is definitely more of a bug but has been in the game for over a year and is seemingly one of
the few arrows that is affected this much by terrain.
Spires
I mean, seriously, this is the afterlife, and no Spirit Beasts?
What is up with that?
Many posts and comments on this subreddit have talked about how they thought the Shadowlands would end with us realizing Zovaal was right. Shadowlands' release got delayed because of Covid and its first major patch was delayed compared to previous expansions. Do you think maybe the writing team actually had prepared the "Jailer is actually right" storyline but were told that it was going to be a 2 patch expansion and pivoted to "Jailer actually just super evil" story?
Looking back, when did you realize that there was a massive story arch over the course of the multiple WoW expansions?
Was it Legion? Perhaps you knew in WoW classic? When did you get your first inkling that the conflict with the Jailer would need to come to an end?
Or perhaps did you realize it when Blizzard was attempting to market patch 9.2 by copying the critically acclaimed MMO Final Fantasy 14 which announced that itβs highly anticipated Endwalker expansion would be the end of the Hydaelyn-Zodiark saga that began with A Realm Reborn and spanned 3 major expansion?
Heyo together,
here are some ideas of mine what could happen to Bolvar after Shadowlands:
So, a bunch of things from patch 9.2 have been datamined (already), including the Jailer's defeat animations, and a 'prototype' model.
One of the Jailer's animations shares the same pose as that of the prototype.Of course, this could be a raid mechanic, similar to that of Lady Barov's where she summons multiple illusions of herself, and we'd have to guess which is the real one.
However, what if the Jailer, after his defeat, 'deactivates', and transforms into this prototype.Side note, after Sylvanas shattered the Helm of Domination, and the veil between the realms, Zovaal got control over the Scourge.
Blizzard confirmed that we will be returning to Azeroth in the next expansion, but what if, after the Jailer's defeat, the Scourge are still not wreaking havoc? What if they still behave like they are being mind controlled? What if "The Jailer" we fought was but a mere distraction, and the real Zovaal is still out there?
Of course, many aspects would debunk this theory, such as the recent quality of storytelling in WoW.However, this could also tailor a lot of opportunities. I believe it's save to say the majority of players would have wanted Zovaal to look like that leaked concept art of him. With this opportunity, they could eventually introduce this model as the real Jailer. (And thereby satiate the players' wish.)
It might also help a little with the villain's arc. This whole time, the real Jailer had been bamboozling us, and showed us but a mere fraction of his power. This real Jailer... could actually be a First One. He'd be referred to as a 'jailer' by the inhabitants of the Shadowlands, because they became concious of his existence. The First Ones have been hiding from sight ever since the creation of the Universe, but now that their secret is threatened to be revealed, they'd do anything to prevent that. This would eventually introduce them as the new main villains of WoW, where they'd try to eradicate the players, etc. by sending rushed-crafted prototypes their way. This would offer even more opportunities to introduce new mobs, stories, villains, and so on!
Anywho, I'm going off-track here. What do you think about this theory? Does it even make sense? Please let me know!
They actually pulled a plug i cant believe it
We are back to the 2014
Iβm sorry if this has been answered a million times but Iβve been googling and browsing Reddit but I canβt seem to figure this out. Iβm barely into the main campaigning BFA, as Iβve been basically completing all of the Kul Tiras stuff before heading off on the war campaign to Zuldazar and now that Iβm over 45 the campaign for Shadowlands has started and it cancels out the BFA war campaign. I can abandon it and it just comes back up.
Is there anyway to shut this down so I can finish BFA? I regret buying Shadowlands now. I was going to wait til I finished BFA but too late for that now.
Iβm at work at the moment and I havenβt had a chance to test this theory but could I possibly go to Chromie and have her set me back on BFA time? This is pretty frustrating.
Thanks for the info if anyone has any!
Basically the title. are there elemental forces in the shadowlands that shaman draw power from? I always understood that shaman don't have dominion over the elements and that they must ask the elements around them permission to be used.
This post will have some spoilers about datamined stuff from 9.2 like dialogues, maybe cutscenes and the raid ending etc. This might be a bit longer and deeper analysis of the events that took place back in BfA and now in Shadowlands, but the conclusion may prove that Sylvanas may actually be redeemable because of that, and I hope to start a fair discussion about it.
Since I can't use any images here, I will just directly quote some lines from the game and mention cinematics to prove my point, so it doesn't seem like all of that is just a randomly picked theory.
Let's start with simple facts we know about Sylvanas, Jailer and Elune and how their story connects with all the recent events.
1.Darkshore - we know that Elune had some kind of influence over the events in Darkshore - this is shown with 2 direct examples - Saurfang being "suddenly stopped" from killing Malfurion for some reason he didn't even realize, and Tyrande being "stopped" from attacking him. This implies that Elune could prevent the deaths she didn't want to happen. What we hear later in Shadowlands, is that she heard about Winter Queen's cry for help, and she chose the Night Elf souls to be sent to her as a way of aiding her in the hard times. If she wanted to do such thing, this means that she had planned some way of killing the Night Elves to make their souls go to the Shadowlands. There would be no other way of doing that than killing them. She had influence over them, by putting them to sleep so they wouldn't feel pain.
2.Sylvanas' "decision" to burn Teldrassil - what would it do, to aid the Jailer? Well... pretty much nothing. If all the souls of all worlds were going directly to The Maw since the moment Argus' soul broke The Arbiter, then even in such short span of time that would be between the events from Argus and Darkshore, the amount of souls he would get would be extremely higher than the amount of souls of the Night Elves in Teldrassil. It would be literally like pouring a bucket of water into an ocean. It would just mean nothing.
3.Elune's involvement - Since the beginning of BfA it all felt a bit weird that she could stop Saurfang, Tyrande and put all the Night Elves to sleep, so they didn't feel any pain, but couldn't do anything to prevent Teldrassil from being burned, almost as if she didn't care about the Night Elves losing their lives. In the Ardenweald campaign we get some informations about her choice to aid her sister. The choice involving souls of the dea
... keep reading on reddit β‘I certainly think it's up there.First of all, the writing team doesn't even seem to understand their own lore, and constantly contradicts it. Especially concerning the cosmology.
They've constantly gone back and forth on what death is, and reduced the Titans, whereas before they were built up so well. Nobody cares about The First Ones, it's like they just added them because we got to meet all the Titans in Legion so they're less cool now or something? Very lame. Literally nobody thinks the First Ones are cool and there isn't the same magic with them as you'd find in say, doing your first Uldaman run back in classic WoW, or going to Ulduar in wotlk.
Second, The Jailer was not properly built up at all. And honestly the way he's explained so far, he actually seems like the good guy. Like, how is he wrong exactly?
Third they blast through the lore WAY too fast. The story they're trying to tell in Shadowlands shouldn't been done over like three expansions. (And I don't just mean Sylvanas, which is a whole other topic.)
That leads me to four, Sylvanas. Why are they trying to redeem her? Does what she did to the night elves and everyone just not matter? Why would Jaina and co even work alongside her in 9.2? Completely ridiculous.
At this point I want the Jailer to win just so he can destroy the universe and we can wash away all this crappy writing/lore.
This picture sums up my feelings and many other players as well:
Go Jailer! Destroy the Universe!
Just curious how the lore has gone and I heard that shadowlands retcons everything
Seriously. Now i am able to choose my abilities like 60 level talent row. Use whatever transmog i like, test everything around and have fun with niche abilities in every form of content. So satisfying!
Blizzard absolutely knew back on alpha and beta how good it feels to be able to swap Covenants around, but decided to sell later patches with it. Who knows, maybe if not player exodus and lawsuit, we might not even get it now, but in 9.2 or even 9.3.
Have a nice Covenant swap day, bois!
Kyrian: Something noble, angelic, and good, like "Pelagos."
Maldraxxis: Something tough and intimidating, like "Venomblade."
Revendreth: Something Aristocratic and classy, like "Theotar."
Ardenweald: "Flrrrgyrgrglgrrr."
>!Now that it's confirmed that Argus shut down the Arbiter - You can clearly see the link disappeared after the Argus fight. It's to the right of Azeroth during the fight. Can't miss the anima stream.!<
