A list of puns related to "Self Organising"
Hi! I'm a marketing major taking a Data Analytics course this semester and I'm tasked to discuss to what extent I agree with this statement, we can either give a toy example or discuss in theory.
βSelf-Organising Map's clustering performance is sensitive to the size of the output networkβ
I'm not sure what output network refers to and could use some help.
Thank you!
Hi to all my esteemed QAs
As the title says this is slightly off topic, but I still thought it would be a good place to ask for this.
I recently joined a company in which I need to be changing context several times a week. There are many ongoing projects, some bigger some smaller, and all need my attention at some point during the day and the week.
So far I've been using the mac notes app to basically put everything there. Everything is:
In the three months since I started, now I have 20+ different notes, something kinda mixed contents, some of the notes are already pretty long and hard to scroll/search for stuff.
Basically it's becoming challenging for me to stay organised and on top of things. I tried using confluence documents with its many templates, but it requires too much time and at some point I can also see how organising stuff can get out of hands, and its not really practical for quick note taking. Gave it a try to using some simple trello board, but the kanban style doesn't really fit with note taking, and daily logs of things.
I'm sure many of you here have faced this issues in one way or another, so my question is, how did you approach this? Any advice? And most importantly, which tool or tools do you use?
Also, if anyone knows about some tool that lets me do everything I listed above in a simple, quick, and indexable way, it would be great.
Thanks!
Self-Organising Textures on Distill. We train a Neural CA to synthesise textures. Given we don't enforce temporal stability, the resulting textures are constantly changing and showing interesting behaviours.

This tip is probably obvious to most people but I used to sit and read self development books or sit for 30-60 minutes at a time watching self development related content on YouTube several times per week.
It was great and gave me a motivational boost but Iβm a bit lacking in time (Iβm a parent and I work full time) so sometimes after taking an hour out of my day to do this then meant I had less time to workout, work on my career plans, finances, keeping my living space organised etc.
I now have a βwatch laterβ playlist which I add to whenever an interesting suggestion pops up on YouTube. I listen to this whilst I do mundane tasks so Iβm taking action whilst learning. It really motivates me to do boring but necessary tasks because Iβm engaged in the content Iβm listening to and it keeps my mind positive in times where it might otherwise wander to less positive things.
Itβs great as an alternative to music when working out sometimes too.
Hey all - apologies if self-promotion isn't allowed - I didn't see any rules.
I'm part of a small group of gamers from New Zealand trying to make our D&D games better. I know how frustrating it can be to dig through a stack of loose papers at the table or waiting for that giant PDF to load and then scrolling through to find the correct page while running a game. Thatβs why we're building Mythic - the easiest way to write, organise, and run your RPG campaign!
Mythic is designed for a couple of different scenarios: writing & editing your campaign in the super fast online editor; linking content and notes for easy page navigation; uploading your OC and writing stories for them; sharing, selling or using, buying campaigns, adventures, or characters shared by other creative people.
Weβre currently working on the beta version and weβd like to hear your thoughts. If you are interested, sign up for it here - https://mythic.nz/ and we will send you more details on how to set up your free account once the beta is ready.

edit: Thanks everyone for the really good response to this post! We're moving forward and will be in touch with beta users soon. You can still sign up for the beta if you'd like to join us!
Hi Guys! Some times ago I ported with a friend the SOM implementation from R to GO, we used for a while and since it looks stable and reliable we would like to share it with you since we always found very little support for machine learning for Golang:

Last year another machine learning library we develop was choose for the Github Arctic Code Vault this year we would like to save this library for the future generation, so if you can add a star to the project we will really appreciate!
As you all know, the ducks have been quite violent recently. Since someone was killed, we thought it would be a good idea to organise free self defend classes to learn people how to protect themselves from the ducks. This way no other people or ducks will get harmed. You can sign up at the museum near the duck pond (if you can make it there without getting attacked by the ducks).
My own research interests have evolved since beginning this MA program from leftist labour movements into sex worker rights & treatment and Iβm having trouble finding any primary sources on brothel workers organising for better treatment. I know itβs an odd case as sex work has largely been outlawed or heavily criminalised for most of history, but knowing that sex workers have been on the frontlines of leftist organising in general, I find it difficult to believe that they never organised on their own behalf. Any help is much appreciated!
