A list of puns related to "Rozier"
In a loss to the Pacers, Terry has taken this record from Jonas Valanciunas, who went 0-4 from three last year in the play-in against the Trail Blazers.
With three play-in games left, there should be plenty more historic performances to come, as these games aren’t considered to be part of the regular season or the playoffs.
What do you guys think. These guys are all good players in bad situations. Sexton is getting tossed in rumors, Vucevic is good but the bulls couldn’t compete last year, Derozan is a FA, Brogdon is getting thrown in tot hat rumor for Simmons, Lillard we know that story, Westbrook is just a wildcard player and the Wizards missed the playoffs, and then Grant just finished the season with one of the worst teams last year. All of these players have been big-time scorers averaging around 21+ points per game. Of course it would be difficult to get some of them but why wouldn’t the Lakers give Sexton or Derozan a chance. Or go hard after those other players. Even for a guy like Sexton who’s been frowned upon; he would be a great third star. He scores 24 ppg on 50% shooting. I think it’s a lot better than relying on two sixth man players who can put mostly just 15 ppg. And if Rob pushes hard for those other players I wouldn’t mind offering a lot. These years of having LeBron+AD are extremely rare
I feel like Terry Rozier would be a amazing fit on our team, could be a solid 3rd option to lebron and AD and when they go to the bench we’ll have a 20 Ppg scorer coming in taking the pressure off the team. Rozier shot 39% from 3 this year and really stepped up, also shot 45% from the field which is decent but he would be an upgrade over Schröder 100%. How can we get Rozier? And would you guys like Rozier on the team? He had some really solid step up moments on the hornets this year and I would love to have him on the squad.

Scary Terry with one of the best games of his career but in a loss.

Literally Scary Terry has improved every year in Charlotte and is a solid starting PG. (Yes, arguably better than Kemba has been for Boston). Terry averages 20.2 PPG, shooting 44% from 3, and is a beast on defense. Boston should have kept him for the long haul.

For those who want to see the reaction of r/nba at the time: Here is the post announcing he had signed a 3-year/58M deal with the Hornets.
It's easy to look back in hindsight and say "lol armchair reddit gms" but let's look at Rozier's career averages from 4 years in Boston beforehand.
Rozier (2015-2019) - 272 games, 20.0MPG, 7.7PPG, 2.3APG, 3.6RPG, 0.7SPG, on .380 / .354 / .777 splits
That 3pt shot isn't terrible - but you'd hardly argue "let's give this dude damn near 20M per year" worthy either. He was pretty much regarded as an inefficient scoring guard off the bench who got really hot during the Celtics 2018 playoff run, roasted Milwaukee, had some nice games vs Cleveland before cratering and going 0/10 from 3 in Game #7.
But what has become of him since then?
Rozier (2019-2021) - 108 games, 33.9MPG, 19.0PPG, 3.8APG, 4.2RPG, 1.1SPG, on .445 / .411 / .858 splits
Somehow, the inefficient scoring guard on Boston(a pretty well-regarded organization for maximizing players, go look at Jae Crowder for example in his time there) - got BETTER with a larger role on a thought to be inferior squad. But it's not just that - the Hornets are PRETTY GOOD this year. Like - no disrespect to Jerami Grant, but it's not crazy for a most likely 3rd-4th guy on a good team to go score 22PPG on a god-awful franchise. But the Hornets are having their best season since 2015-2016 and are currently the #4 seed in the East (I mean, the East is so tight they could be the 8th seed a week from now which is why I'm making this post now)
All of this is to say - Rozier is an incredibly unique circumstance. Every team in the NBA shouldn't go around throwing 20M per year to any ol' inefficient scoring guard. Imagine if a team had done this with Nik Stauskas. But to see that he's the leading scorer on a playoff team in the East is a crazy thing given the perception of him just 2 offseasons ago.
The narrative that Ainge can’t draft that a lot of ignorant fools spew is ridiculous and how he prefers “undersized guards” among other things. Those 5 picks above are a strong playoff rotation. While Rob fell to us at 27 plus Smart was BPA every other pick at the time was either graded as a big reach (Rozier) or a slight reach (Brown/Tatum). Sadly Terry is no longer here but he is blossoming in Charlotte. Ainge has some flaws but the draft isn’t one.
Stop rushing to judge young lotto prospects like Nesmith and Romeo until we give them time to develop too. I’m fine including them in the right package of course but let’s not claim either is a bust or anything yet.

Just for context, guys will play through “pain only” injuries in these contexts.
Rozier mentions the Clippers game as a game where he injured it.

All playing through pain to end the season. It’s pretty normal.
Terry has been the clutch for a lot of the season, and put up a big complete game against the Blazers, additionally notching some defensive production, for which he is not typically known for.
I look forward to at least one playoff game where Terry hits the ice-cold game winner.
This question popped into my head while watching this Hornets/Clippers game
how far does this Hornets team go with James Harden on the roster instead of Terry? What is their ceiling? What is their floor?
Bonus question: How far do the Nets go?
Kemba Walker is averaging 16.3 PPG on 49.4% TS%. Terry Rozier is averaging 20.1 PPG on 63.0% TS%.
Kemba has 12 GP while Rozier actually has a solid 25 GP sample size thus far. Very unlikely that he'll maintain 63% TS%, but he'll more than likely still end up outperforming Kemba.
Note that Kemba is also coming off of an injury and has two good games b2b, his efficiency should certainly increase over time
Those Kemba > Kyrie takes after the Celtics picked him up are not aging well.

The hornets fans suspected last season that he had some unnatural ability to turn it on when the game was in dire straights or in the final minutes of the game, but this season all but proves it.
He's doing it driving the basket, in iso, and obviously on catch and shoot 3's, his bread and butter.
CP is pretty damn plugged in. He discussed trade tidbits on his post game podcast last night. Time stamp is around 54:50
