A list of puns related to "Riksdag"
During the half-year that the Swedish Riksdag was in session during 1865 several issues were discussed. Amongst these were:
Budget (Further details will be included in its own post)
Reaffirmation of the '64 freedom of commerce act.
Water and waste is now a municipal responsibility. The municipality of Stockholm is expected to start building water and waste pipes sometime during the autumn.
Minor diplomatic issues.
Decision to investigate a reformation of the the divisional system into a more modern system. The Ministry of the Army is expected to provide options for how this reform could be implemented in '66.
Continued debate on the representational reform and the Stattholder question as requested by the Storting in Oslo. (further details in its own post)
Approval of the request by Gothenburg city council to start Göteborgssystemet, a trust granted a monopoly on spirits in the city.
Following the announcement of two new parties entering the Riksdag, several new approval polls were sent out to see the popularity of the new parties and where Sweden may be heading in the new election.

This minority government was formed through negotiations but it is not expected to last, as previously stated. With the rise of Nordic Unity Party of Sweden (NUPS) and Scandinavia First Party (SFP), this is likely to only increase the divide of the parties. Therefore, negotiations to form coalitions will be critical in forming a government for this election year.
In a shocking move, though it was discussed back in 2019, the Sweden Democrats and Christian Democrats have come to an agreement to form Sveriges Nationella Union (SNU) or National Union of Sweden. Following in a similar fashion, the Moderates and SFP have formed a coalition called Svensk Enhetsfront (SE), or Swedish Unity Front. Seeing the greater push for a Scandinavian focus, NUPS has offered to work with the ruling Social Democrats despite their decline since 2006. This comes with the additional announcement of the Left also deciding to agree to coalition, though they have announced the reinstitution of their long-held policy of supporting a Swedish exit from the EU. Thus reforming as the Förenade Svenska Vänstern (FSV), or United Swedish Left. The Riksdag has been noted for having one of the youngest Parliaments in Europe, and this has been clearly seen with the new parties being headed by young Swedes that have broken away from there party establishments.
Projected Government
Alliance | Parties | Projected Seats | Percentage | Leader |

Förenade Svenska Vänstern | Green | 25 | 7.16% | Märta Stenevi & Per Bolund |
Förenade Svenska Vänstern | Left | 25 | 7.16% | Nooshi Dadgostar |
Förenade Svenska Vänstern | No |

8th September 2030:
The 2030 Swedish Riksdag Elections have come, and every party is trying to get more and more seats. The Social Democrats are trying to gain as many seats as possible, the Moderates are trying to hold together their centre-right coalition, and all other parties want to increase their lead so they don’t get voted out.
Social Democrats:
Under Forslund, the shift in Social Democratic policy has shown through. The party have improved their image, and have had their support grow and grow, even surpassing the increasing support for the Centre Party from former-Liberals. Plus, with seat contesting agreements with the Greens to not split votes, they seem to be a formidable force.
Their main policies will be focussed on the future of Sweden as a whole- they plan to formalise the 18-monthly climate discussions, to trial and try to form universal basic income, guarantee that Sweden remains a firm member of the EU, and reform taxes once and for all, so that the municipal and national tax disconnection is finally ended.
Moderates:
With the support waning for the Moderates as climate-led voters switch to the Centres, they need to pull something out of their hat if they want to remain as the dominant coalition partners for the Riksdag. They remain close to their Swedish Democratic allies, but with the rise of the Alternatives, their position is increasingly untenable.
Policies promoted by the Moderates include the investment of more money into the armed forces so that Sweden is better defended, to pressure governments worldwide to copy Sweden’s actions undertaking climate change, and to vote, once again, for NATO membership, but only under a place close to that of the French.
Minor Parties:
The Swedish Democrats have held support firm, with their support being bolstered by dissatisfied Moderates whilst being drained by the Alternatives and Centres. They see themselves losing a few seats, but not enough to be catastrophic, but indications of Åkesson’s resignation are coming, potentially marking an end of an era.
The Alternatives are constant on their view of what is

March 29th 2024:
A long held belief of the Moderate Party, NATO membership has always been considered for Sweden. With its strategic position in the Baltic and capitalist economic policy, it would seem to be an ideal candidate for the alliance, yet has always stuck with its lengthy neutrality, which has been around for over 200 years now.
With new signs that Russia has favoured military readiness over general maintenance, it seems as if they look west, towards our Baltic brothers of Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. Plus, with the Moderates in power, and both it and the Centre Party (whom also support membership) gaining seats in the Riksdag in the 2022 Election, there is only one obstacle- the Swedish Democrats.
Time and time again, they have supported Swedish neutrality, despite this position also being held by their major political rival, the Social Democrats. They don’t want the country to be forced into wars in far away deserts, for the Swedish army to protect one dictator against another, and for the Swedish Armed Forces to not protect Swedes.
This time seemed different, yet it was not meant to be. The Centre and Moderate Parties vote for it, whilst the Left, Social Democratic, Green, and Swedish Democratic Parties against it, with the Christian Democratic Party abstaining. Votes are distributed with over the required 175 NO votes (200 votes being against) due to Sweden’s voting policy of negative abstentions, with abstentions being used to show support for an issue without the fear of a yes vote being used later on.
The issue has been ended for the time being, once again. Time will tell if this will be the last time, but the campaign promises of the Centres and Moderates tell us it will likely not.
In the aftershocks of the attack on the Riksdag it was announced that it would be renovated. In addition to this, a monument would be erected in central Stockholm to honor the victims of that terrible day. A monument to Sweden, to Democracy, to Resilience.
Until the coming election in 1940 it had been decided that the landsting would elect representatives from amongst their number to ascend to the Riksdag, to fill the chairs of their fallen comrades. While the attack had caused great grief amongst the Swedish people, they were more united than ever before.
Who would’ve you voted for in the Swedish 1936 election?
