Pretty big news for this ski season at RMR. A new quad chair will not only provide an easier link to the Ripper Chair, but it gives sub alpine skiing for beginners. Up to now there were virtually no runs for novice skiers in higher elevations. First time Revelstoke - Resort or backcountry hut?

Heading to Revelstoke for the first time this winter. Originally my intent was to hit the resort and do a bit of resort skiing and a bit of guided touring but now I've started looking into backcountry hut touring (heli to hut and tour for 4 - 5 days or so).

Seems like a dream, but I've actually never toured before. I'm in really good shape and I cross country a lot (I know this is different) but I'm wondering if I should just stick to the Revelstoke mountain resort for the week or so I'm there.

Thoughts?

Revelstoke - Basecamp Resorts - Construction near completion?

Hey there! I'm interested in booking accommodations at the new (but under construction) Revelstoke Basecamp Resorts located at 405 Highway 23 North (on google maps it looks like it's off of Pearkes Drive).

I noticed their site photos were all 3D renderings so I called the company to inquire - the individual that answered the phone was based out of their Canmore location and indicated the Revy location was still under construction. I asked him if it'd be ready by New Years Eve (when I wanted to book) but he was unsure, other than the fact that they had hoped it would open by this Fall.

Has anyone on here passed by the location of this accommodation and can speak to how far long construction looks like?

Any help - details or photos - would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

TLDR: Is the new Revelstoke Basecamp Resort looking like it's near completion? Interested in booking for New years.
