This dude has insane talent, picked up from the streets of tape ball cricket in Rawalpindi to the biggest stage in the world. He has extreme pace and is quite accurate, I think he clocked 153k's or something last night.
For the past year or so, Haris Rauf has been labelled as a run machine for the opposing team. He's been heavily criticized ever since his insurgence to the Pakistan team and even just before yesterday people wanted him to not be in the final xi. Yeah, this dude has gone for plenty of runs, but he always comes to bowl at the end of the powerplay, in the middle overs, and the death. So his economy is very skewed and he gets a lot of unwarranted hate.
Haris said a few months ago how excited he was at the prospect of bowling to Kohli/Rohit in the worldcup. It was his world cup debut and he literally bowled 3-4 dot balls at the death to Kohli when he was looking so good. It also seems like he's developed a killer slower-ball behind the scenes, I've not seen him use many slower balls before yesterday, but it's very impressive how well he utilized them.
He played a big hand along with Shaheen in choking the runs for India yesterday, and I think it's high time he gets the respect and recognition he deserves.
