A list of puns related to "Ratter"
Hey all,
This is a Longshot but I'm wondering if anybody here is familiar with a small Lake just east of Sudbury called Ratter Lake.
I'm looking at a camp online on the Lake, and after a quick search, Google is saying it tested positive for algae blooms in 2017.
I'm curious if anyone is familiar with the Lake in the hot summer months and whether or not this is a continuous problem with the Lake, and/or if the Lake and surrounding area often smells rotten due to the blooms.
Thanks for any info you have!

pretty much topic, as yes hunting random explorers is fun for a while, something bigger is more adrenaline.
Are there viable C/D/E/F wormholes where solo ratters might be? I assume A/B types are not so lucrative, but not sure if D/E/F are viable solo.
As I nomad a lot, finding myself in various wh during the day... never really spotted that much targets to be honest. Or it was 4-5 group, which can't be really done by myself alone.
any tips?

ANNOUNCEMENT: The Ratter needs a new Chief Editor/Developer. I'll hang around to help the transition if necessary.
Title is self explanatory.
This is not a cry post do not worry. I want the new DBS system to work, but I currently see flaws with it and I want to give my perspective.
TDLR: Current reward and ratting site distribution make it optimal to live in one system together, rather than spreading out. The impact of the DBS is too small due to a number of factors. Explanation below, possible solutions at the bottom.
I'm basing my perspective on the assumption that the DBS is meant to get null sec players to spread out over many systems, rather than just living together in 1 or 2 systems and leaving the remainder of space desolate.
The obvious reason is the way things are currently, it's just not worth it to bother. I have tried to rat in high DBS systems, but it just sucks. Why is this the case?
The main issue is, rather unsurprisingly, the reward distribution. The reward is a combination of the following: bounties, loot, salvage, faction spawns, and escalations. The secondary issues are: the ESS timer, site distribution within a constellation, and site distribution within a system. I'll try and be as brief as possible so I will not include every thought I have.
Bounties: The DBS system is great in theory, however, the issue with the DBS is most of the reward isn't actually in the bounty when it comes to higher level sites. I would estimate the bounty to be about 45-50% of a havens worth for example. For lower tier sites, the bounty becomes more relevant. So, if one system has a DBS of 150%, and another has a DBS of 75%, actually, you are only losing 25% of the sites value by ratting in the 75% system, not 50%. Coupled with the fact high DBS systems usually have a lot more traffic, the 25% you 'lost' you probably made back by being interrupted less anyway. As a result, there is really no value in chasing the DBS for the effort required.
Faction spawns: I've only ever seen faction spawns appearing in havens and sanctums. The loot from these spawns is often a nice bonus. I really like the faction spawn mechanic, however, what I dislike is that there are no faction spawns for the lower tiers of sites. This makes it feel like the players must run havens or sanctums.
Escalations: Again, the high tier sites result in higher tier escalations, which results in more valuable rewards. Why run a site that only escalates to an 8/10 when you can run one that escalates to a 10/10. The adds to the desirability of havens and sanctums.
The combination of these points is that the DBS is simply not im

That's understandable, we're all trying to get what exactly is going on. However, and although I'm sure a market crash is coming, that's not the only problem with the insurance system.
When we had a change like named modules being reprocessed, it hurt miners. But, good or bad, it didn't fundamentally change the nature of the game. It was simply a balance change. PvE got a buff, and miners had more competition. Another common point is p2w. But the game has always been p2w. You could always buy 100 thousand Plex with your credit card and trade it in the market, then proceed to buy whatever.
However, before the insurance system, there was a compromise. Apart from Skins, Omega and Neurochips, if someone wanted to get an advantage with real money, they had to trade their Plex with other players. That's the only thing that sets this game apart from regular p2w MMOs. That's the only reason why "pay to win" has a different meaning in EE. See, if you want to have an advantage, let's say, buying a Nightmare without working for it, you are free to do so. But you have to pay for other people's subscriptions (and other perks) to do so.
What this means is that if you're grinding for weeks to buy your dream ship while your rich neighbor got it in 5 minutes with his Visa, you don't feel as bad because he's paying for you to play. On the other hand, if you don't have a lot of time to grind and want to use real money instead, you don't feel as bad because you're paying for other people's subs. That's a very interesting system... Netease wins because they get the real dollars, wallet warriors win because they get an advantage, and everyone else wins because other people are paying for real life servers, wages, profits etc. And that means even f2p can get everything in the game, including the most expensive subscription, if they play well enough.
Of course, you might say that every freemium game works in this way. People paying real money are paying for everyone else. But in other games, you can just buy things out of thin air. In Eve's system, you can only buy what other players are willing to sell, meaning that you have to buy their actual labour / success in the game (items, ISK etc.). Whal

I'm looking to specifically hunt ratters (Ishtar, Gila, Vexor...) in frat space with something small and fast so as to beat intel networks and the instant feedback of local. Anyone have a good fit for an AF or combat ceptor that can get the job done? Looking to keep it kinda cheap but can bling some parts like prop or repper. I'm skilled into all the ships. Thanks!
