Scraic lads. I’m 17 and will likely be doing a repeat of my leaving in rathmines college of further education (point inflation made my course rise from 500-580, big pain in the hón) anyway, I’m choosing rathmines college because they do my subjects and they’re nicely affordable. So I’m just wondering, what’s the area like? For anyone who’s ever gone, Is the college alright? I’m a cultee btw so I wouldn’t know if it’s the posh side or not. Thanks lads.

Considering a job offer for a permanent move to Dublin. I’m not familiar with the area, and I understand it’s a bit rough (from what I heard) but would like to hear your opinion on safety.

My shift will be ending somewhat late (8pmish) and I would be taking either the blue line bus or the luas red line.

I’ve lived in rough cities during my life but don’t want to have a bad exp in Dublin.

Considering I look obviously foreign and will have to be well dressed for work (suit etc so can’t pretend I’m a rapper wearing Canada goose 😅)

Love Ireland so want to have a stress free experience if I indeed make the permanent move.

I have an important interview coming up on zoom and unfortunately due to living in a crowded house I don’t think I’ll be able to get the private space I need to do it. In addition to this I don’t really want my housemates eavesdropping aswell. Therefore I was wondering does anyone know of any places that would offer such a facility where you can use a room for an hour for zoom or that. I don’t mind having to pay a small fee or that as long as I have peace and quiet and can concentrate without the worry of someone intruding.

Hello all, I’m (26 M) looking for a regular tennis partner in Rathmines. I’m thinking about joining LCC tennis club so if you are a member, hit me up.

I used to play a lot before but stopped for like 12 years, lol due to injures, partying, alcohol, etc. I want to recover my level by playing 2 or 3 times per week. I guess my level right now is intermediate but would improve pretty fast.

Anyone ever sat in balcony seats? Can't imagine viewing would be great but maybe I'm wrong, just reluctant to book yet

Has anybody noticed an increase in the amount of homeless beggers in Rathmines?

I'm not complaining just wondering is this happening because town is shut down.

Most of them are grand and I throw a few euro/food to when I can.

But one arsehole went mad at me when I said "sorry iv no change" I mean he was shouting at me that I can go to the bank machine and get him money. I felt like telling him to fook off but I just kept walking.

He has changed me, now I try to avoid any eye contact or words with the homeless beggars and I feel bad for doing that.

Planning on seeing a film on my trip to Dublin next week, the Stella looks like a great time, but I noticed the films are quite limited and are different depending on which one you go to.

I originally was looking at the Rathmines one, but now I think I’ll go to the Ranelagh one since it has The French Dispatch.

Are both cinemas the same quality? It kind of looks like the Rathmines one is better. Would I be better off just going to the Lighthouse?

Looking at a map, St Pat's and UCD seem to be a pretty similar distance from where I am living. Any thoughts on who is traditionally the team of Rathmines/Rathgar?

Had anybody else been hearing this? Some guy on rathmines road screaming in a sort of yodelling fashion every day for a few hours without fail for a couple of weeks now. It’s absolutely bizarre. Kind of funny but I’m starting to go insane and can’t quite find where it’s coming from. Maybe I’m just going insane due to lockdown 🤣
