I want to know ! Honarable Dr. Priya Joshi's logic is as rigged as her English !

I did my fare share of research on Mahabharat and learned the whole story. I found that Bheem and Hanumans are indeed brothers. Hanuman, being a character i always thought belonging to the Ramayan.
someone please explain it to me how Ramayan and Mahabharat is connected .

I am looking to get more into touch with my roots, so I'm searching for a good quality English translation of the Mahabharat, and if possible the Ramayan too. I tried searching on the internet but most are either too short or too expensive. I'm searching more for the Mahabharat because it seems like a more complex story, but I'm okay with Ramayan too.
Some requests:

I already am famaliar with the basic story of both the epics from stories from my childhood, so something like 250 pages isn't really gonna tell me much that I didn't know. I'd prefer longer ones.

In English, and preferably modern-ish translation. I don't mean modern slang, but I don't want to read Shakespeare too.

I'd prefer if the author was a devout Hindu, for obvious reasons.

Rama is Ram, Ramayana is Ramayan, Laxmana is Laxman, Ravana is Ravan, but Sita isn't Sit.
Is there any reason for this? Or was it glossed over? Or was it always like this?

Ram is portrayed as a perfect “son”, the one with no flaws. One who listens to his parents, stays true to his promise, is loved and respected by everyone, is also the chosen one. He goes for vanvaas, is a loving and caring husband, stays loyal to his wife and chose to do everything to fight and get his wife back from captivity.
I cannot believe he left his wife, for whom he went on a war for, after listening to a random conversation.
The Ramayan story I want to believe in is where Ram marries Sita again because he was away from her. He shows his support for his wife rather than victim blaming and most importantly there is a happily ever after.
Guess what? I can absolutely do that, because it’s an epic story. I just could not see Ram do the wrong thing at the end of it and made a version for myself that makes me happy. Simple.
