A list of puns related to "Queens Boulevard"
Iβm thinking about biking out to Forest Hills/Kew Gardens this afternoon and I know that the bike lane was supposed to be completed around this time. Has anyone been out there lately?
Edit: Thanks for the heads up yall, I had a great ride.
Has anyone else seen this? They appear to be building small houses of wood and I think working underground? They appear to be building more and taking up more space before finishing the project they were working on previously so more and more blocks have these wooden houses on the median and it is impossible to tell when they will be done. They just put down bike lanes which I was excited about and now they are blocking the bike lanes with mounds of dirt. I couldn't find anything online. Does anyone have an idea of what they are doing and what their timeline is?
New to the college, only been attending online classes. I was wondering if Iβm better off taking a bus from rego park π busses are so expensive for me tho π₯²
Itβs weird to me that 40th Street is the only elevated station with a mezzanine that doesnβt allow for free transfers. In a way, the Astoria Lineβs stops have an opposite setup from those on the viaduct in that the stairs to the platforms are on the inside and the street stairs are on the outside.
This also makes me wonder how they plan on making the 33rd & 46th Street stations accessible (and not 40th) if they donβt use the part-time exits, since itβs interesting that those exits only have 2 street stairs and not 4.
How is it that Aquaman came out before QB? QB was premiered at Sundance, then Aquaman started filming a few months later probably came out 18-24 months later.
How come the E skips Briarwood, and 75th Avenue most of the time while the F is local and stops at those stations?
Earlier today I rode on a Jamaica-bound E train and stood at the front window. I had the chance to see fixed-block signals before they are going to be converted. On approach to Forest Hills however, I saw a bunch of flashing green lights. Is CBTC already in effect in the vicinity of Forest Hills?
What is this indie film he did in the beginning of his career that he could relate too because his personal biography?
I donβt think its βBoogie Nightsβ. Maybe βThe Basketball Diariesβ, because he had addiction to cocaine in age of 13. But in other hand NO, because Leo Dicaprio had the main role. So what we can compare according to Walhberg filmography?
One thing I can tell you for sure: The βQueens Boulevardβ of the Entourageβs creators, is βAmongst Friendsβ by Rob Wies (if Walhberg inspired the character of Vince, Rob inspired the character of Billy Walsh). This movie really take place in those locations and a lot of Wies private life is there. But I will also say itβs also the βBuffalo 66β of Vincent Gallo, which inspired also the character of Billy Walsh (Gallo had brilliant first movie, did everything included the soundtrack, and like Billy Walsh had a break down and got negativity reviews in his other movies).
But from the actor perspective: Vinnie Chase/Mark Wahlberg - what is the movie?

All of these films are legendary. They all deserve their own post, where I should rave of their excellent work and discuss how they have changed film for the better. I won't do that though, I'll keep everything brief and simply say I recommend all of these films to everyone. All of them were nominated for Oscars except for the one older than the academy awards, and they are all on the current AFI top 100 films list.

This film is a favorite among many. It put Spielberg on the map and some say he never made better. I disagree but that shouldn't take away from this movie. Jaws has aged but the feeling you get watching it should not. The characters are great, the music is amazing and the tension that is built during this film is beautiful.

This film is known as the best Film Noir film in the genre. All I have to say is, I must be a fan of film noir. I was blown away by this film. I was hooked from minute one. The fact that this was made 70 years ago make it even more amazing. I think everyone should watch this one. Not on is this going to break my top 10 films this year, it could break my top 10 of all time.
Score - 5/5
Taxi Driver - Watched 07/19/20

This film is a creepy movie. It will make you feel uncomfortable. De Niro portrays a deranged young man who does not live in reality. It's uncomfortable, it's truly scary, and it made a great movie. I feel like it should be higher on my list but, It just missed my top 5 at #6.

This film is the original Rom-Com. It was nominated for 9 Oscars, winning 5 include best director and best picture. I have never seen a comedy this old, and I'm surprised how funny it was. The situations presented, while over the top at times, where quite entertaining.
Score - 4/5
The African Queen - Watched 7/26/20

This film is the least famous of the group. It is an adventure movie about an unusual couple going down a dangerous river during WWII. Kathrine Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart are at their best for this one, I would give it a try if you are a film fan.

... keep reading on reddit β‘Anyone know the filming locations used in New York for this episode, specifically the street they grew up on?
Can't find this info anywhere
Forgot how much I love this episode. From the De La Soul intro music walking out of the club at sunrise to the family cookout on the street with old Italian mothers threatening to wash their sonβs mouth out with palmolive, and Tiny E getting shoulder checked by Michael Phelps.
Rewatching this for the umpteenth time, going from the rest of the series, this episode feels more genuine than anything thus far, which I believe was the juxtaposition they wanted to make between the shallow, superficial lifestyle the crew became accustomed to in LA, and their humble beginnings back in NY. Even the acting feels more realistic. Vinceβs screen-shattering blow-up is a much needed outlet for the obvious frustration and disappointment thatβd been building since being given the run-around by Carl Ertz in the first episode of the season.
This was the first episode where I saw Vince realize and truly embrace himself as a 3D character instead of a good-looking wind up doll whose only phrase is βitβll work out, it always does!β The end of Season 5 is usually where I lose interest, and I donβt specifically remember why, but Iβll find out this go-around and report back.
Regardless, βReturn to Queens Boulevardβ is high on the scarce list of episodes with some actual meat and potatoes character development to it. The Jamie-Lynn and Marty Scorsese cameos put it over the edge, and the way itβs shot just gives me a nice warm feeling. Even Johnny finds a way to immortalize his legacy! Overall one of my favorite episodes for many reasons.
Just finished with the series and have two separate questions:
Queens Boulevard - so did this never actually come out? Billy put a stop to it due to the studio butchering the cut and that was it? I would have thought E would have been way more upset about this, but he was completely on Billy's side. I can't remember did E see the butchered cut?
Medellin- two complaints I recall were Vince in a fat suit was comedic and his acting was terrible. Did E have any other more specific complaints about it other than he hated it? Also I recall some of the complaints were that it was too long; these type of biopics usually are (3 hour run time isn't unusual), they aren't intended to be mega cash cows, but a way for a studio to make their money back, have as a "prestige" picture for themselves and they usually make a good amount on DVD/Blu-Ray sales from people wanting to have them in their collection. Also releasing a shorter theatrical cut for the theater and an extended/directors cut on DVD or Blu-Ray is fairly common.
Thanks.
This weekβs blogpost is really nothing much nor out of the ordinary. Its based on upcoming planned service changes for the #2, #3, #4, and #5 train line riders in Brooklyn and the (E), (F), (M), & (R) train riders in Queens. Information that is beneficial before you head out the door and utilize these subway lines during the time frames mentioned in the post. Please enjoy.
