A list of puns related to "Qigong"
I have tinnitus 24/7 since 1 year ago because of anxiety, stress, bruxism, etc all medical tests are ok,
I read some guy get rid of tinnitus with qigong. anyone with similar experience i would love to talk.
this is the guy that posted tiktok about this:
Also would like to start buying maybe some udemy course about qigong, which one do you recommend?
I had my first qigong sessions last Wednesday. It was 23 minutes long exercise for energy cultivation and it was the first time I ever practiced qigong. I ended up the session in tears, as I felt a lot of tension and emotional shit leaving my body. I repeated the session, with the same result. The next day, I continued to practice for one hour. The amount of energy I felt in my body was extreme, I found myself breathing, moving and feeling very different from usually. The amount of aliveness I felt I can only compare to psychedelic experiences. I decided to incorporate qigong practice into my daily routine.I started waking up early in the morning and practice for one hour. I kept purging, experiencing variety of emotions and had few important realisations. Exactly one week ago, qigong was something I only heard about but have never gave a moment of my time to. Not even a full week later, I feel like I'm living another life. My body makes sense to me, changes are happening within my mind and body and I'm very grateful this practice came my way.
Hi All!
Iโve been training in martial arts in and around the Guro Dan Inosanto related martial artists and instructors for about 22 years.
Iโve dabbled in Hunyuan Qigong, but my instructorโs day job forced him to relocate. (Heโs not tech savvy, unfortunately.) My only other local sources are much more in the quick certification route and not connected as directly to martial experiences.
Anyone got any teachers they might recommend to a practical martial artist whoโs had a fair amount of strange experiences? (Obviously, would love connect virtually for one on one instruction if possible.)
Thanks so much ๐๐ป
Not here to bash anyone's beliefs or anything. Just looking for a fresh set of resources to use.
It's easy to find yoga vids that leave out the theory/metaphysics ("chakras"). I think this is great, because it lets me focus and bring my own mindfulness and beliefs into my practice. But i like qigong more than yoga, so...
Are there any secular YT channels like that for qigong? The closest I have is Qigong for Vitality, but he still brings up meridians and qi theory during the videos.
Got any YT channels you'd recommend for me? Any practice videos that takes a more secular approach?
Bonus points if they have Ba Duan Jin. Something I can follow along with.
Thanks.
I understand a little bit about abdominal breathing: when breathing in, I expand the are below my belly button (Dan Tian) area expanding outwards in front of me to draw the air in (instead of focusing on the nose to suck the air in). But once the air in, I'm not sure what to do.
When exhaling, do I "push: the Qi in Dan Tian downward? Kind of like Shao Lin monks does it, where they use 2 palms facing downward to push (or condense) the air downward?
Or do I imagine the air circling back towards my spine, going up, and reaching the top of my head? This is just my wacky hypothesis based on some random diagrams I saw.

When we dance in Wu Wei and apply our Qigong in real life, harmony and ease occurs.
Hey all,
Iโve lurked here for a bit and relied on this subreddit to find some information on online Qigong programs.I found finding online Qigong courses is much more difficult than looking for online yoga programs.
A lot of names were mentioned, but I went for Jeffrey Chanda Qigong for Vitality membership subscription. Hereโs the website if you wanted to check it out: https://qigongforvitality.vhx.tv
Iโm a complete novice at Qigong, and I havenโt tried any other programs or teachers, but I found Chandโs instruction to great. Itโs simple and straightforward, and he does a great job at explaining Qigong concepts simply.
He explains in one of his Q and As that one should feel of relief after, like the feeling of satisfaction after having a sip of water on a hot day, and I really did feel like that after doing his 10 minute beginner sequence.
Anyways, I wanted to post this just in case someone else like me is doing research on online Qigong programs.
Hi there, I hope everybody is doing well, I will cut to the chase and keep it short. I am currently doing Ba duan Jin, Yi jin jing and zhan zhuang every morning (1 hr session, 20 mins each) Yi jin jing and zhan zhuang is going just fine for me but I am thinking of replacing Ba duan jin with something advanced, Ive been doing it for about 4.5 months now, (couple of days missed but yeah pretty much sums up to 4.5 months). Guys what would be the best Qi gong set to replace Ba duan jin and take my journey to next level. Any suggestions are appreciated fam Cheers.
I have been teaching myself Qigong using YouTube videos for a while, and I think I have the forms down. But others have told me not to learn it without a teacher otherwise I might injure myself. Also, I think I might have some muscle injuries that I will be seeing the doctor about soon (though I think those are probably from trying to teach myself fighting martial arts), should I continue to teach myself if I am injured? I am thinking that maybe I could just practice the energy direction without the movement.
For those recommending videos, I follow Shi Heng Yi his style works well for me. Though if you have videos on how and where to hold tension and breath during the movements of Ba Duan Jin, Yi Jin Jing, and Luohan 13, let me know.
UPDATE: I think I have enough information to continue my journey to a better version of myself, thank you I am deeply grateful.
Male, ~50 yo. First time posting here. I started meditating 2 years agoโserious practice only during last 6 months. I am currently sitting twice a day for 50 min each plus occasional 15-20 minutes sessions here and there. Metta once or twice a week. I started with Thanissaro Bhikkhu's With Each and Every Breath and got accustomed to breath/energy sensations early on. I recently discovered TMI, and that really advanced my practice in the last 4 months. Even more recently, I discovered Burbeaโs talks about Jhanas. Incorporation of Burbea's suggestions working with energy further significantly improved my practice in the last month or so. I am fairly new to the whole idea of Jhanas. I recently educated myself about jhanas, and it looks like I am currently getting fairly regularly into jhanas 1-3 and occasionally into 4th. I do not have luminous jhanas described in TMI.
Q1: In my early experience, I would quite regularly get intense energy rush sensations that were quite pleasant. It would feel like energy waves washing over my body for a few seconds to a full minute or so. With time these pleasant energy rushes intensified, and I would even experience them outside the meditation setting (walking into my closet, sitting on the porch, etc.). These sensations progressed in intensity and eventually got a bit aversive and disruptive. I eventually lost interest in them as I was trying to progress in my practice (my understanding is that what I was supposed to do). I recently started getting a new kind of energy rush when I am around what I think is a 4th jhana (I may be completely wrong where I am in terms of jhanas). When I am in the 4th jhana, I concentrate my focus on my breathing on a location somewhere in my mind and if I stay with it focused for a while, I get a different kind of very pleasant energy rush that is hard to describe but it is related to the energy rush I had before, but this time it feels like small energy bubbles erupt in my mind somewhere and wash all body with that energy. Sorry for this description, but it is really hard to describe that experience. There is mixed information on this kind of experience of piti, and some say that you should get this experience in first jhana; some say you may get it in later jhanas. I know that I am progressing. I know that it looks like a positive development in my practice. I am genuinely excited about where I am in my practice. However, I would love to figure out where I am in my practice and hear your

I have little to no experience with Chinese med other than taking an undergrad class in college about health and healing in eastern religions. I suffer from chronic neck pain/stiffness, which Iโm working on constantly with PT and am seeing a new acupuncturist next week. Iโm mostly looking to devote 10-15 minutes a day to a qigong practice thatโs easy to follow. It doesnโt have to be about my neck, I just thought that might be useful info! Does anyone have any suggested videos? I just did a 10min video by Austin Goh on YouTube.
Thank you!
A few days ago I wanted to archive the videos on his yt channel for self-development, but I postponed this job. "Probably" a mistake. Today, when I wanted to start archiving, the videos were gone. I have an interesting report about a chinese woman that used qi to gain height. There's also an guy on youtube named master Wong that teaches on how to increase your stature using some breath tecniques. I honestly don't have so much actual practice in qigong but, is really that kind of thing possible with qi?
Hello! I have been practicing Qigong faithfully for several months, and on & off for a few years. Lately, I have had some brief, quick pains in certain parts of the body that arise during Qigong practice. It is not bothersome; it is relatively mild and does not continue after the initial pain. Sometimes this will happen in groups, or "waves" during the practice.
I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Could this be meridians that are opening or Qi blockages that are being removed?
Hello,
I started QiGong this summer. After the pandemic I needed something slow to moove and I found it a blessing. Also started some Tai chi quan. I really apreciate the energy of the Qi flowing and the philosphy behind the movement. At the moment I am doing the 8 pieces of brocade and learning the 8 forms. When I have more time I follow a longer tai chi or Qi gong video. My only issue now is that I have some weight that I would like to loose and my muscles are far from being toned. I wonder if someone has experience with using it for the pourpose of gaining some lean mass/weight loss and if so if you recommend some excercise/how often. I am 38, female if it is important to know.
Thank you:)
Who have you studied with whom shared great knowledge of chi both theoretically and experientially?
This seems to be a (nearly) fixed-stance jibengong for Song style xingyiquan ็บณๅฆ/็่ท circle-walking*.
Unlike Baduanjin, Yijinjing etc, youtube only seems to offer a few examples, but it has its merits:
So I thought I'd try to bring it to light.
This is the whole thing (~4m, a bit casual).
This is a 'course' (54m) with instructions for all the movements (including linking movements).
The instructor speaks in Chinese, and even slips into Shanghai dialect(?) for lengthy chunks, but he's a good teacher (exaggerates movements, weight shifting etc & gives side views). Given that the movements aren't too complex, I think many people with some background could pick it up without understanding Chinese.
Here are video timings from the 'course':

Unfortunately, he doesn't do the whole thing from start to finish, but that's available in the earlier video. I may cut the video into these smaller chunks when I get round to learning it.
*Not to be confused with the Song Xingyi circle walking itself, another Xingyi circle-walking qigong , or the more complex Shaolin qigong form, all of which go by the same name...
Stumbled across this looking for something specific:

The couple of links I've tried worked; can't guarantee they all do.

Hi guys! I wanted to share a resource that has been really helpful for me lately! My anxiety was bad and had to go to my collegeโs mental health urgent care a couple of times, and one of the therapists there shared me a yoqi routine and it has really helped me! https://youtu.be/nmmNWj9YtAw
First, Iโm not a Qigong teacher. Iโm just a practitioner that has recently found Qigong.
I started practicing Qigong in early 2021 and I have already experienced first-hand the power of Qigong. As for everyone, 2020 was a really rough and very stressful year. I was managing, up until my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in August of 2020. That is when things started going downhill. I was stressed out and worried about my mother. Due to this, I was having trouble falling asleep and staying asleep, my blood pressure was through the roof, and I started experiencing chest pains and symptoms of Carpal Tunnel syndrome.
Before I knew it I was on an Anti-Anxiety med to help me fall asleep, two different pills for heartburn, two different medications for Carpal Tunnel syndrome, and a prescription to lower my blood pressure. When my doctor put me on the blood pressure medication, I remember asking him if anyone is ever able to stop taking it after starting it. He said it was very, very rare and that I would most likely be on it for the rest of my life.
Due to not being about to sleep, I had pretty much stopped working out because I was so exhausted all the time. However, I knew I had to do something. My wife and I started walking over lunch again once the weather warmed up, but I knew I had to do more. So, I started researching a new workout routine.
I looked into various workouts and programs. Animal movements, Gymnastics inspired workouts, jump rope, etc. I then stumbled on a youtube video with โKung Fuโ in the title. That lead me to watch other Kung Fu videos, other Martial Arts workouts, and then Tai Chi. I then found a video called โShaolin Qi Gong ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ 20 Minute Daily Morning Routine ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ ๅ ซๆฎต้ฆ Ba Duan Jin (Complete Form)โ. My wife and I started following along the video 2-3 nights per week and I began to look into Qigong further.
I read The Master Key by Robert Peng, The Root of Chinese Qigong by Jwing-Ming Yang, and other books on Meditation. I took some Qigong classes, found other Qigong videos and Youtube channels related to Qigong. Some of the channels Iโve been using are
... keep reading on reddit โกHello TrueQiGong family. I've become very fascinated lately with many Daoist/qigong and Hindu/yogic principles (still a beginner in many facets), especially as they intersect. I was wondering if anyone has dove into any of the practices that incorporate both. I did a little bit of research on Reddit and Google and some of the info seems conflicting. It seems like it may be more yoga incorporating Daoism than vice versa but wanted to get some input from some of the well-versed folks in this sub. As always, TIA!
Is there any thing similar to kundalini in qigong?
