How can behaviors that are self-destructive, compulsive, and repetitive be replaced by ones that are reigned by life compulsions?
Why does the psyche even work this way? Whatβs to win when obtaining pleasure from sabotaging behaviors?
Edit: I study economics and have absolutely no background on psychoanalysis other than a couple of books and psychotherapy.

I've had a brake pulsation for a few weeks now which I thought was the rotor having warped. Today I got the thumb out of my butt and took a look at my brakes and saw that there was a small amount ofsome form of grease or oil smeared on the left front rotor, I sprayed it down with brake cleaner and wiped it off with a clean rag and I think I got most of it off, my brake cleaner can ran out though so I didnt get to do my OCD level cleaning of wiping it down another time even when it looked clean.
The brake pulsation was almost completely alleviated, there might still be a little but its hard to tell since the roads here (north of arctic circle) are icy, covered with packed snow and generally uneven at the moment so it might just as well be the unevenness in the road that I feel, regardless the worst of it is gone.
Rotors, pads, calipers, hoses and brake fluid were all replaced with new ones this past summer.
My question now is should I change the brake pads? I remember hearing about brake pad contamination from oil/grease. Might my pads have absorbed some of this? I dont find the braking power diminished and the vehicle brakes in a straight line.

Hi everyone. I am new here. I have a question. Recently I have started getting a throbbing/pulsating feeling in my left temple and its frequency has slightly increased in the past one week. I don't have any headaches so I am not sure why is this happening. Should I be worried.
My abdominal artery has been pulsating sometimes but not painful. I was wondering has anyone had this and got it checked out if so what was your experience?
