Is it worth getting Petty Officer Second Class in Sea Cadets?

I am a junior about to finish my third year of high school and I'm in the Sea Cadet program. I plan to apply for all the branch's ROTC programs in college (I'll go to whichever will pay for my school, I don't care which). I am an E3 currently, with time requirements I could still get to Petty Officer Second Class before graduating and I'll definitely get PO3 because it isn't much work. The question is, is it even worth bothering with getting PO2 as far as applications and all that are concerned, will I stand out more?

IAmA Second Class Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy! AMAA.

So, I am rather unable to sleep on a Sunday night, and felt as if this post would at least kill some time. I hold no delusions regarding the anti-military tendencies of Reddit (hence the throwaway) but also feel there may be some people who actually have worthwhile questions. So ask away.

My proof is rather limited to this photo of my insignia on my working uniform along with a handwritten shout out to Reddit. There really isn't much more that I'm comfortable doing.

PROOF: http://imgur.com/W60Zo

So, feel free to ask anything you want to and I will answer what I can.

EDIT: I'll check this off and on throughout the next few days and answer any questions.

EDIT 2: I have some free time, and as such will be answering those questions asked after the first edit.
