A list of puns related to "Nonblack"
i feel like this is gonna be hilarious. (but please be serious with ur answer)
Or am I the one person that notices?
So tired of all these comments praising the most mediocre delivery and defending them by saying "well you don't need to be skilled to be a good rapper" when like 90% of idol rappers only got the position because they look good and can't carry a note.
A rapper growls and smirks and jumps into the centre before their verse and people lose their minds. Nasality isn't a legitimate rap technique. Flexing only works as a socioeconomic and cultural statement that nonblack rappers can't connect to. It comes off weird and inauthentic, but fans eat that shit up.
I feel like if they're not even going to bother with having skilled rappers, there's no point in every group having a rap line. If main vocalists are expected to be fantastic singers, then why is the bar for rappers deep underground? Talking on top of a beat โ good rapping. Even (good) mumble rappers in the west mould their sounds to connect with production of their tracks.
Especially for girl groups. I'm a super big fan of female rappers outside kpop, but save for a very very very small handful, female kpop rappers give us absolutely nothing. Disrespectful on both fronts as a black female stan that all rappers in all the major groups right now serve us absolutely nothing. At least try.
Edit: to address all of the comments calling my title clickbait, I'll just include comments I made explaining why I made the distinction (and how it wouldn't apply to all).
>The racial statement comes from the fact that there's a big lack of cultural understanding about rap amongst non black stans and the industry overall that contributes to poor quality artists and tone-deaf/weird take dialogue. It very often gets anti-black when idol rappers are compared to western "counterparts", or just jarringly weird when a whole genre is reduced to talking over a beat
>I was largely speaking of the phenomenon of non black stans and their often reductionist/weird/antiblack takes on a genre that the kpop industry already waters down and disrespects. If people don't think it applies to them, then it doesn't apply to them. I made the distinction because it's cultural, but hiphopheads could very well feel the same way. Or have a different opinion.
I used Black instead of African-American to be inclusive of Afro-Caribbeans, Black Canadians, as well as the many other qualifiers that this applies to historically/culturally. There is also debate on preference between using Black as a label or African American, with either bei
... keep reading on reddit โกPersonally, I find it weird. I wouldn't mod nonblack subs, nor would I mod a female related sub. So why do you think some nonblack user would mod a black sub (or multiple)? Especially this one (seemingly) white moderator who appears to mod many black subs, but doesn't appear to mod any white subs.
I'm interested in getting some opinions from some of the Afro-descended and more recently black-mixed folks on this subreddit.
I recently read an article that referred to a Puerto Rican celebrity as "nonblack" and pretty much also claimed that most Puerto Ricans are "nonblack". While for mixed people, that might be "technically" accurate especially given phenotype or skin tone, for some reason it makes be cringe. As someone that identifies as mixed, because of my admixture which is pretty solidly Spanish, Indigenous, and African (with some other things thrown in) and someone that doesn't quite "look" white, the use of "nonblack" just doesn't feel right. Mixed, partblack, black mixed, multigendertionally mixed, high admixed, all of those things feel right for me, but nonblack especially when we're talking about people whose phenotype is clearly sub saharan afro-descended on occasion, just feels wrong.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not asking for people to get cancelled over this, just expressing my feelings about it. I'm also not dismissing on some people identify individually. I'm wondering, am I alone in this?
Asking because the black sororities at my school are not very prominent and it was very hard to find their social medias and just general information about them. It's already Spring and I haven't seen any information about rushing or joining them; they just have a virtual Skee Week and stuff like that. Meanwhile I've been seeing so many posts from the Alpha Sigma Tau sorority about bid day and all the fun activities they do and I'm low-key tempted to join next year๐ญ๐คท๐ฟโโ๏ธ For reference I go to a PWI not sure if that makes a difference.
So I recently got back into Magic and started playing Commander for the first time, and made a bunch of decks that have been a blast to pilot. I feel like putting together something new but looking at what I've already got (U/B Phenax mill, R/B Xantcha political, G/B elfball, W/B Teysa aristocrats) I think I lean pretty heavily on one particular color. I wanted to challenge myself and try building something different - any recommendations for fun or unique commanders that don't play like the decks I already have? I'd say my playgroup hovers around a 5-6 in power level, and I'm somewhere between a Johnny and a Timmy, more on the Johnny side; I don't mind not winning if my deck does something cool and janky that I can get to fire off now and again. I'd prefer it to be budgetish but could probably drop up to $200 or so.
Thanks!
Iโm genuinely curious. As a white guy, I sometimes stop myself from saying the n-word when rapping along to Kanye, for instance. I was wondering how the people affected by this word felt on this.
I love a performative "Ally" who dismissed appropriation all for the sake of propping up their own culture. Literally just had a Mexican femme presenting person dismiss my claims of appropriation under this white girl with payed edges pic (I mean c'mon) because, "Aztecs started it soooo" like wtf are you even saying. I blocked them but it got me thinking...
And yes, they had BLM on their bio lol
I'm dealing more and more with this sort of behaviour myself now that Black culture is in the mainstream, and it's really annoying. What's more frustrating is when it's family they feel as if their wants superceeds your boundaries or needs so they just ignore your perspective on this seemingly (to them) harmless behaviour. Like, sometimes they'll use their proximity to you to gain access to The Culture or excuse microaggressions or straight up racism. How have y'all experienced this or delt with it? So far I've just cut myself off from family that does this.
(Sorry if I didn't have my thoughts organized properly)
Hi there!
My podcast is all about black + brown people finding their happy.
I wanted to record an episode with a nonblack person discussing what it's been like as a nonblack person during this social unrest & the sometimes awkward moments in trying to be a better ally.
This will be a safe space. You can be anonymous if you'd like, but I also see this as a potential cross-promotion opportunity! (I only release audio as well.)
For some context, I am Asian male. When I grew up I spoke standard English until middle school. I played basketball with plenty of people speaking AAVE and at school I interacted with plenty of people who spoke this way. And the more I started hanging out with people who spoke this way the more my speech started to sound this way. I didnโt even realize this until it started to get really obvious. No one really said anything about how I spoke so I didnโt really think much of it. Recently I have learned that Black people have been discriminated because of the way they spoke and other non black people have been using it to sound โcoolโ. So my question is should I try to unlearn my speech? Iโm afraid that I shouldnโt speak this way because it might be culture appropriation.
I hate how people always try to use the term POC as a false idea of unity when overall many nonblack people that use that term use it for pc convenience and actually do not want to include black people. Especially black women. I also do not appreciate how this term is slowly trying to make it seem like me calling myself a black woman is unacceptable. It also buries black voices when people use the term POC to shut out people who want to address problems that black people face against antiblack communities Almost like an "All lives matter thing." Like mentioning myself apart that I'm black is something wrong. Overall I feel that the term POC is very dismissive to the black community. Have any of you guys ever experienced this?
Iโm mixed with three races (white, black, โLatinoโ think mestizo). Iโm half White and a quarter Latina and black. I donโt see myself as black or white. I see myself as more Latina. I want to identify only as Latina but I donโt know how Iโll go about doing that without any backlash.

This person is not listening to black people and is insulting our intelligence and agency. Some black folk didn't answer this persons question to his desire (bc ya know we are only here to please y'all ...) so he attacks the black commenters. I gave them an answer that they completely shot down even thought it's correct. But despite their eagerness, this person lacks humility and patience and wont do the work of learning. This is why I say fuck you all bc y'all continue to be violent towards black folk and do not listen to us EVER.
Also, if the originality poster sees this and tries to delete their post I have screenshots. People need to see how fucked up you are and what not to do in the future. And it will only support that you're not shit, weak if I may say myself.
How are u telling me I'm wrong from across the world ? This colonizer energy is toxic lmao ๐คฎ๐คฎ๐คฎ๐คฎ๐คฎ๐ท
Hello out there,
This is a meta question. I'd like to be able to comment here and have messaged the mod(s?) twice asking to verify as a non-black person. The pinned post says that I do not need to send a photo to verify as a non-black person. But I have not received any response. I'm posting this here in hopes of getting attention from someone who will notice and help me be able to comment.
Thank you for any help you can offer!
Edited to add: This post shows that it has one comment but I can't see it where the comments are higher than what I can see. This happens to me a lot on this sub. The only reason I can think of for that happening is if someone has blocked me or I blocked them. I have not blocked anyone on this sub, so if I did it was a coincidence from another sub. I don't know what to do...
just something iโve noticed amongst my coworkers and nb family members. they always either refer to a black person as african-american or they like noticeably lower their voice and say โblackโ like itโs some kind of slur. is this something you have noticed? or am i just thinking too much of it?
edit: fixed some typos
This is a vent about my mutuals on twitter, nothing else. I think I should get new ones.
I do agree what the racist policeman did to an innocent black man, is absolutely disgusting. I am an indigenous person living in Canada and I know how shitty cops can be with literally anybody that isnโt white. It is infuriating. Especially hearing that the same cop killed an indigenous person 12 years ago. He needs to be charged as a criminal and not get some paid leave.
It just annoys me that my mutuals keep retweeting tweets that have people say โpoc who are staying quiet are just as bad as racists.โ or โweird how my nonblack mutuals arenโt tweeting much?โ.
Itโs annoying because these mutuals stay quiet all the TIME whenever I talk about the similar problems that happen to indigenous people here in Canada. You do NOT see me calling yโall racist for not spreading awareness or write โweird how my non indigenous mutuals arenโt saying anythingโ.
Also I just want to stay quiet because I just want to have my followers see pretty art or a funny meme to lighten their mood a bit, especially with how crazy things are right now.
