A list of puns related to "Neo Soul"
Iβm a producer in KC and I notice when people come here that they tend to believe that this a country music town and/ or Strange Music and only a handful of independent artist who do these genres have a presence here. I canβt blame anyone for thinking this but this is far from the truth, thereβs hundreds of artists all over the Greater KC area that make unique and interesting Hip-Hop, R&B, or Neo-Soul (sometimes all 3 depending on the artist) so Iβd like to bring attention to a few of them
so im currently looking for some new music/ some new artists that are similar to frank ocean. do you have any recommendation or playlists?

Is there some patterns or rules I can follow to create neo-soul chord progressions?
Iβm a vocalist (F25), I sing neo soul/r&b/pop and looking to start a band. Singing has mostly been a hobby of mine but Iβm wanting to do more with it.
Please let me know if youβre of a similar age and interested!
After watching "Foundation", where clones don't have souls, I'm wondering if these "rebuilt" Neo and Trinity have souls or not.
I mean, they did really die. But if their bodies get rebuilt, do their souls reinhabit them? Or do new souls inhabit them? Just wondering.
It usually incorporates a talkbox and/or vocoder, dirty piano chords and runs. Snarky Puppy has a lot of this sound; the interlude on βLingusβ starting around 4:15 has some of the βdirty piano chordsβ Iβm referring to. Also the intro to βSleeperβ by them. βFrom Paris With Loveβ by damβnco has a lot of the sound but is more funk than anything. It also creeps into a lot of pop and hip/hop; the intro to β24k Magicβ by Bruno Mars, the interlude on βComptonβ by Kendrick Lamar starting around 3:20 mark, and literally all throughout the album on βTo Pimp a Butterfly.β
There are many more but these are the ones that came to mind. Iβd like to find the artists and songs that invented this style and popularized it. Thanks!
